So I've caved under the combined pressures of /v/ and /a/, and I'm going to start One Piece tonight. Which is better, Anime or Manga?
Anime up until they hit the grand line, then manga. It's mostly a matter of the earlier scans being really low quality more than anything else though.I'm sure someone else can give you a no filler guide if you want to stick to just the anime. Be warned though, it is a very easy show to marathon.
>>7674I'm actually fine with filler stuff.
One Piece is talked about over on /v/?
Really depends on the preference. The anime sticks religiously close to the manga disregarding the filler pad out moments, so it comes down to taste.Marathoning the anime will take waaaaay longer, though.
I started watching the anime again and it's just... each episode takes FOREVER and not much happens. Early series is good, but yeah, the manga is excellent and also you can kick through it way faster.
I'd read the manga, but then again I typically prefer manga to anime. Both are great, though.Oh, and early scans suck dick.
Hmm, thanks guys. I'll stick with the manga and maybe watch the anime for the more actiony bits. Thank you!>>7677You'd be surprised how much One Piece pops up whenever an anime thread happens in /v/.
>>7686Hell, /co/ will talk about One Piece if given the chance.
I didn't start reading the Manga till after Water 7.I know for a fact that even up to the start of Sky Island things are only tenuously readable at times.
I thought all of 4chan (but /a/) likes OP?
>>7700/a/ is tsuntsun for it
/a/ and /v/ are so tsundere for each other it hurts.
I had a stupid dream last night that Sabo was older and had his own crew called the Silly Hat Pirates.
>>7703...Does anyone have that 'silly hats only' gif?
>>7703Been done.
Manga. Watch some key episodes for the VA and OSTs and such but jesus the pacing in the anime is fucking horrible.
>>7710There are a few scenes that it improves upon, though. Big Emperor is probably the best example of this.
>>7714That, and any time music is a big factor, like the Sogeking theme song and Bink's Sake.
you could read the manga to catch up to the current arc,or you could watch the anime all the way through and read the manga once you've ran out of episodes.
>>7710This. The manga is stronger as a whole, but for individual big scenes, anime is often stronger. So read the manga and then hit up youtube.
Good luck finding non-amv scenes on youtube.
