This is about as insane as can be expected from Oda. In fact, this was something I was wondering would be why Teach was after the fruit. I mean, his power's only major advantage so far (Negating others' powers) is weak when you remember that his Logia does not make him intangible.And while Nja's VERY reliable, we're getting it from his phone, which, just like Apprentice last week, can easily be impersonated thanks to 2ch's post system (I'm most certain Pluton never made an appearance last week, hm?). It's not often that he posts directly from his phone, but it happens from time to time, so be cautious today.

Some thoughts on these spoilers:I'm not sure how I feel about this. It definitely sets him up as a dangerous antagonist, but I feel like canceling powers already made him Final Boss tier.I liked that he had one unique power that cleverly made him a dangerous villain, instead of someone like Aizen or Sylar who has a fuckload of abilities and gets by just on those. Still, Oda hasn't let me down yet.

It does seem to be that he'll only have one extra power at a time, otherwise I'm sure he would have gone around killing others. Still I think it's best to wait for the chapter and see how it's handled, Oda isn't perfect but I like giving him the benefit of the doubt.

If Blackbeard knew bout the Dark Dark Fruit's power absorption power beforehand, he probably realized early on that Whitebeard's quake ability was a must-have and started planning how to kill his captain and steal the old man's power. Though he overestimates himself, I think Blackbeard knew that he couldn't take on Whitebeard at full health; that's why he waited until the old man had already taken enough damage to kill the population of a sizable town before he went in for the final blow.What if he turned Ace over to the World Government for the dual purpose of earning the title of Warlord and provoking Whitebeard to enter a battle gargantuan enough to actually kill him?Of course, this contradicts Blackbeard's statement that he was originally going after Luffy, but that could have been a lie. Or maybe his plans are so deviously clever that even he doesn't know what they are!
