4753 No.4753
LINGERING PLOT POINTS:
>Luffy
Dadan's identity, the Will of D, Dragon's agenda, etc. Although her identity is unknown, Luffy's mother has been stated by Oda as not being a pivotal element of the plot.
>Zoro
Parentage. Oda's clearing of the Kuina/Tashigi debate has settled everything else relating to his backstory, but that fact that he's one of the few Strawhats with a surname could eventually come up.
>Usopp
None, surprisingly, but it's worth noting that Yasopp has thus far shown no knowledge of 1. his wife's death or 2. Usopp being a Strawhat. I can't help feeling this will lead to a staggeringly dramatic reunion...
>Sanji
Parentage, once again. Sanji's birth outside the East Blue and the question of how exactly he got on that ship to begin with remain undressed, but the recent revelation of his left eye has finally laid many rumors to rest.
>Nami
Interestingly, her biological family remains unknown even to her. She was a war orphan raised by a rogue Marine, so anything is fair game... from misplaced royalty to nothing at all. Hell, maybe she's part mermaid. It may never even come up.
>Chopper
The only Strawhat with no loose ends whatsoever. Was a deer, ate fruit, raised by doctor, etc.
>Robin
Nico Olvia's place in the world is still largely unknown (as is the identity of Robin's father) but most of Miss All-Sunday's past has been cleared. They may be lingering connections to her time as an assassin, but that's mostly it.
>Franky
Nearly everything about Franky has been resolved, save the actual identity of the pirates who sired him. Once again, it may or may not be important.
>Brook
His stint as an agent of a yet-unidentified nation and family ties, especially considering their time-displacement, haven't even been touched. Brook's origin prior to the Rumba pirates is wholly unknown.

Keep in mind Robin and Chopper haven't gotten their numbered chapters yet (the 人目 ones).
We have 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8.

The fact that even the scene at Enies Lobby didn't net Robin "The Sixth" means that there's more in store for her yet.

>Crocodile

His past relationship with Whitebeard, his history with Ivankov and his weakness, and what went down that turned him cynical.

No.4759
>Kuma

Fucking every thing, man.

Also for Robin, it should be pointed out that she knows very well the Will of D. I'd like to know just how the hell she knows it.

No.4760
>>4759
Well, thanks to Roger we now know that the Will of D is linked to the Void Century, which the Ohara scholars were killed for studying. It makes sense that she'd know something about it.

No.4761
>>4759

She probably explicitly researched it due to Saul carrying it.

>Vegapunk

What he looks like, how far his knowledge expands, and...actually, you know what, everything.

>Dragon

Possible weather based Devil Fruit?

No.4762
>>4760

But her knowledge seems to be extensive, and she's not read too many poneglyphs so far. Especially since Rayleigh couldn't read it and knew more than she did. I don't know, it just seems weird that she totally knows this much already when we've seen how little she knows of the void century.

No.4763
>Doflamingo
HE'S PLANNING SOMETHING. YOU KNOW HE'S PLANNING SOMETHING BUT WHAT IS IT.
Also are his powers wire based or fruit based or what.

No.4764
>Chopper
How did Doctor Kureha know about Roger and the Will of D?

I doubt that unknown biological parentage will ever become an issue; from Bellemere to Whitebeard, we've been taught that that sort of thing doesn't really matter. You may have a point with Zoro, though.

No.4765
Wait, what clearing of the Tashigi/Kuina debate? Did he say that the fact they looked the same is coincedental?

No.4766
We also have to consider that neither Chopper or Robin have had their "Number" chapters yet. And considering what the crew's already gone through for Robin, that means there's something HUGE waiting in the wings.

Though I must admit, I'm more anxious to see what Chopper's is going to be.

No.4767

I still say Vegapunk is from the future and his time machine exploded when he went back in time.

No.4768
>>4766
oh hey deja vu.

But yes, I am waiting eagerly for what Chopper is going to get. He seemed pretty handled by the end of the Drum Arc so who knows what it's going to be.

Also, for lingering plot points - The panacea and All Blue. They are actual, physical things to discover (unlike being the greatest swordsman) but we have heard of hide nor hair of them since pretty much their first introductions.

DWARVES
MINKMEN
LONGLEGS
SNAKENECKS

(And more about the Longarms, too, but we should be getting that with Brook's cover story)

No.4783

Popular theory is that Nero was a Minkman and Moria is a Snakeneck.

No.4786
>>4783
Nero and Nezumi, maybe?

No.4788
>>4766

Stupid question, what exactly are these "number chapters" that you speak of?

No.4789
>>4788

Whenever a Strawhat's demons are fully laid to rest and they become a permanent member of the crew, it's signified by the chapter's title.

Zoro: The First
Nami: The Second
Usopp: The Third
etc.

Nami didn't get her chapter title until the end of the Arlong arc, and it took Usopp all the way to the end of the CP9 saga. He shared a title with Franky.

Chopper and Robin have yet to have theirs, which only makes one wonder what's in store for them next.

No.4790
>>4788
There is a defining moment for (nearly) every Strawhat in which they officially become a true member of the crew. The chapter this occurs will be titled to reflect that. For example, chapter 6 is titled "The First" because it's the chapter Zoro teamed up with Luffy.

Chapter 68 is called "The Fourth" because it's the chapter Sanji left the Baratie.

Chapter 94 is "The Second", because it's the chapter where Nami officially joined the crew after the fall of Arlong Park.

Chapter 439 is "The Third and Seventh" because it's the chapter where Franky joins the crew and leaves the Franky Family, and it's also the chapter where Usopp apologizes for leaving the crew, and admits he was wrong.

Chapter 489 is "The Eighth" because it's the chapter Brook joins the Strawhats after being trapped in Thriller Bark for so long.

Now, it isn't hard to realize that we are missing two characters. We haven't gotten a "The Fifth" or a "The Sixth" chapter yet. This means Oda has something planned for them to solidify their positions as true members of the Strawhat Pirates. And since Robin didn't get hers after Enies Lobby, that means Oda's got something REALLY big in mind.

No.4794
>>4790
Shiiiiiiiiit. and to think that Chopper and Robing have already suffered enough.

No.4845
>>4790
>Chapter 439 is "The Third and Seventh" because it's the chapter where Franky joins the crew and leaves the Franky Family, and it's also the chapter where Usopp apologizes for leaving the crew, and admits he was wrong.

That's kind of mind-blowing that Oda would hold off on giving Usopp his number chapter (and for that matter something which would be worthy of a title chapter) for so damn long, unless he just didn't think up this number chapter thing as something that big until after Usopp actually joined.

No.4847
>>4845

I'd like to point out that he literally never at any point said he was a part of Luffy's crew and was really only a friend until that point. Hell, his joining never actually had him answering Luffy verbally that he'd join them, so his finally admitting that he's one of Luffy's crew was a really important moment for him. The others all do much the same, though Robin and Chopper have both also have yet to say they're Luffy's nakama. Robin's affirmation that she was with Luffy was "I wanna live!" and Chopper's was just him crying. Everyone else has had them saying they'll work under Luffy on that chapter stating their number.

No.5211
So Robin and Chopper are the only two crew members without their number chapters yet.

They're also the only two crew members not currently in the Grand line

No.5222

No.6468
Regarding Chopper, we could find out something about Doctor Hiruluk or Doctor Kureia's pasts that could cause trouble for him. Hiruluk said he used to be a petty thief, right? Or maybe we'll find out where he saw the cherry blossoms that saved him. (If we don't already know where they are. I can't keep track of these things.) Also, don't forget that Kureia knew about the Will of D as well, although she might have heard it from Roger.
(And wow, I totally don't know how to spell these guy's names.)

No.6469

S'long as you don't use Zolo, we're pretty cool here with spelling.

I mean, I personally don't even mind Zolo. I just mind the shitstorm that inevitably results from its usage.

I don't mind it either. Hell, if that had been the only thing Viz had changed, I probably would have prefered calling him Zolo.
