They have to, but the rest aren't formally trained aside from MAYBE Zoro and/or Usopp. My argument here is that look at Shanks, the cabin boy in Roger's crew. If HE managed to gain exceptional abilities while working with the crew, then the Jolly Roger Pirate Gang's spiritual successors have to be just as rowdy and all powerful.

I'm most curious about Robin and what will happen during her two years.
Out of all of them, she's the only one not training or learning something new. Though I'm guessing her meeting with Dragon will help her out quite a bit. Maybe he tells her everything about the Void Century?

I'm guessing the whole mystery behind the Void Century is tied to the World Government and the Revolutionaries. Maybe they're fighting against the WG because of what they know happened in that time period -- something the WG clearly doesn't want anyone to know.
With Robin knowing this, it could give the Straw Hats some advantage over them. This is just me speculatin' upon speculations, though.

At least they're being being serious about the training time, this will be no 'years of training timeskip that achieve barely anything' 'oh no I'm utterlly outmatched I need to train again' 'Dammit now I need to train again focusing on a new technique'
