No.10614
Is this supposed to be funny because he doesn't save Ace?

...because it isn't.

didn't watch the new episode I take it? that's how he laughs.

...egad.

No.10618
>>10617

yeah, go watch it right now. It sounds horrible, it's like he's dying, we can really only hope that japan sends some letters to toei. The animation was good though.

No.10619
I seriously can't image how half of these laughs could possibly work as someone actually saying them.

goo-rah-rah-rah-rah-rah-rah

No.10624
Well, his laugh is "Gurarararara"

It is no surprise (or at least shouldn't be) that the Japanese have an inherent problem pronouncing their imaginary "r"'s.

So, yes, Mr. Whitebeard is indeed going to sound like "GRLLLRGLRLGL!".
Sounds like he's choking on something. Poor man.

I thought it was the other way around and they couldn't pronounce L's

No.10631
>>10629
When Japs need to pronounce an R, they pronounce a terrible L. When they need to pronounce an L, they pronounce an unintelligible R.

You have to engage auto-filter in your mind, sort of like with the vuvezela filter during the world cup that let you block specific frequencies.

No.10632
>>10631

so just...pretend it's L's? I would rather have it be a semi-close R than an L

No.10633
I always imagined his laugh sounds as if some sort of quake, or heavy vibrations, are getting stronger and stronger the longer they continue.

I kinda imagine it sounding sorta like Jaba's laugh, but with a raspyness from old age and sickness

No.10649
NO WHITEBEARD!!!! DON'T CHOKE ON YOUR OWN TONGUE!!!!

No.10658
can they find someone who can do this laugh correctly and pay him JUST to laugh? cause this is just...terrible

No.10659
>>10631>>10632
The "r" and "l" sound in Japanese are the same. It's a sound that's halfway between the two, and actually sounds like a "d" where you barely press the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth for a split second while voicing it.

Maybe they can play it off as a fake arm or edit it out later.

No.10683

They'll probably fix it for the DVD.
