The deranged college student who allegedly attacked a Muslim cabbie declared himself a “patriot” after being arrested for allegedly slashing the driver in the face and neck.
"What ya going to do? Beat me up. ... You are a stupid broad," Michael Enright told a female cop after she arrested him.
Enright admitted to cops that he drank a pint of Scotch, according to court documents made public today.
"I am a patriot and I want representation." Enright told officers, according to the court documents.
During the rant, Enright, 21, even said, “You allow them to blow up buildings in this country" -- a reference to Muslims.

Michael Enright.
At one point, Enright even pleaded with cops.
"I want my mother," he said.
The outrageous comments came as a judge denied Enright's petition for bail.
Enright pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and assault as hate crimes during a hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court. He is being held in the psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital.
Prosecutors said a drunken Enright asked cabbie Ahmed Sharif about his faith before telling him to “consider this a checkpoint” and stabbing him on the face and neck on Aug. 24.
Enright’s lawyer has said Enright is struggling with alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder after a trip to Afghanistan.

>Authorities said Enright, who traveled to Afghanistan last spring with a group to promote interfaith understanding
>The allegations have mystified some who know Enright, a senior at the School of Visual Arts who lives with his parents in suburban Brewster, N.Y. He had volunteered with an interfaith group that helped pay to send him to Afghanistan as part of a video project for his school.

Looks like he learnt a lot about Muslims there. Enough to return him as a changed man.
