m... My god...
Game over, man.
This makes up for every shitty movie in the last five years.
Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!
Yes, but can they pull off non-Eucilidean structures in 3D and thus drive the whole audience mad?
...don't know if want.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS
>>18030I don't think they saw any of those in the story, although they do see a shoggoth, so there's plenty of mind destruction potential there. Also, WHAT. James Cameron is producing!I cannot describe how excite I am.
I read that as they being the stars of the movie.Just think about that for a sec.
It'd be better if it were Shadow over Innsmouth.
>>18041As much as I like it, I'm not sure it would work as a movie. Mountain of Madness is one of the few Lovecraft stories that would work as an "Effect film".
>>18041I love Shadows of Innsmouth, but I agree with Trig.tbh I'm just happy for any Lovecraft movie, and after watching Pan's Labryinth I trust del Toro.
In before Cameron demands that Cthulu be a lovable elf portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal who falls in love with some chick on a sinking ship... or planet... or something. And then they die. Or don't die.
>>18060Give Del Toro a shock collar he can put on Cameron so every time he tries to pull stuff from other sources he can "teach" him to stop.
>>18057
PS, Re-Animator, Die, Monster, Die!, From Beyond, The Crimson Cult, The Curse, etc. There were plenty of Lovecraft movies to go around.
>>18086how many of them beside Re-animator are actually worth mentioning though?
>>18104All of them, unless you're a FAGGOT.
THIS BETTER FUCKING HAPPEN.
Best case scenario: This will actually get fucking done.Worst Case Scenario: This will be the start of Guillermo Del Toro hopping from project to project, never finishing anything, ever.
>>18141Seriously though, every Lovecraft adaptation I've seen has been at least good. Do yourself a favor and watch From Beyond if nothing else.
>>18104>Re-Animator>Worth mentioning
>>18445OH U!
>>18445
>>18445FYI, I hate you.Forever.
>>18445YOU FAG YOU PIECE OF SHIT I'M GONNA CUT YOUR THROAT OPEN AND FUCK YOU IN YOUR NEW FUCK HOLE
>Del Toro>Cameron
Now the big question: Is it physically possible to make proper 3d effects for this?
>>18474The only tricky bit is the Shoggoth. It might be hard to render an infinitely malleable train locomotive sized mass of glowing tarry bubbles with continuously manifesting eyeballs. At least, it might be hard to do it without it looking silly. I have confidence they can handle it, though.
Needs more traditional FX.
