GODZILLA ALL UP IN THIS BITCH (Other monsters also acceptable)HEISEI ERA G IS BEST G, BLOWIN' UP BLACK HOLES, BEIN' FUCKIN COOL
Showa had the Zilla dance. Plus Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and Terror of Mechagodzilla are two of my favorite G movies.
>>17906Terror of Mecha Godzilla was my first movie entirely. I had it imprinted on me at an early age that Godzilla is a hero of justice that can beat up two evil monsters at a time.I hope they do more stuff with heroic Godzilla. You could probably BS your way through a hoighty toighty explanation about how evil Godzilla represents all the devastation caused by atomic weapons, and good Godzilla represents all the advances in science and medicine accomplished by Nuclear Energy.
>>17909>>17906SHOWA GODZILLA IS FILLED WITH TROMATONS WHICH CAUSE HIM TO INSTINCTIVELY SEEK OUT AND BRUTALLY DESTROY EVIL.Though I prefer Heisei, it's impossible to truly love Godzilla if you don't like the Showa movies, besides, half his movies or more are from the Showa Era, aren't they?ALSO HOLY SHIT, Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla is fucking amazing.
>>17910I love his reveal scene. That glow over him then bam. A robot and the music kicks in.
Man , I have like all the moive downloaded and have only watch the first one... and fell asleep... but that was my bad for watch it at night. Hope this thread gets me back in the mode for some kagju atcion!
I miss the good old days of TNT.
>>17935THIS WEEKEND ON TNT. IT'S ALL OUT MONSTER MAYHEM IN GODZILLA: FINAL WARS. FOLLWED BY AN ALL NEW MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.TNT; WE KNOW DRAMA.
THEM! was a great monster movie.

>>18011I wish rifttrax would do some of the new Godzilla movies.

I need to finish my Godzilla dvd collection. I only need.G vs King KongGodzilla's revengeDestroy All Monsters G vs Headorah. Biollante through Destroyah. 2000MegaguirusGodzilla X Mechagodzilla Final Wars. I'm sad that Showa Video seems to have been shut down since those bootlegs were better than almost all of the official US dvds.
This would have ended better if it was a riff of the Rocky 3 ending.
I miss Showa Godzilla. I hope they revisit his strange and awesome world in future movies.
New design looks dope.
Yes, Kid Hate.
This thread needs some Monster surf
>>18270That design is rediculous. How is he supposed to move without any arms or legs? He's just a head!
>>18272DHO HO HO HO HO!
>>18269>>18270Well it certainly looks better that the last reboot of godzilla. I like how it's chin isn't massive. I hope it is a better movie.I feel like watching my Godzilla movies in a long marathon. Godzilla was my hero growing up.
I like Godzilla as a nuclear menace. He defends Earth, when it suits him, but I prefer to leave the hero'ing to the actual monsters from Earth who are actually good guys. Caesar and Mothra, for example.Or... you know... that one really awesome non-Toho monster who got the best reboot anyone ever got and three classic 90's movies out of it... You know.
>>18280I've been hearing how awesome the Heisei Gamera movies are for over a decade. Are they on Netflix?>>17911I remember the first time I saw that. Shatbrix, man.
>>18307I don't think they are, but the really good Mothra movies are on Hulu. It's not much consolation, but it's something. I have them on dubbed DVDs and video files, so I am no help. :(But you should seek them out.
>>18307>Shatbrix, man.Damn right you did. He fucked Godzilla's shit up.
HOLY SHIT THE ENDING TO THE GAMERA TRILOGY OH WOW THAT WAS GREAT.I'm gonna give Showa Gamera a watch.
>>18386I told you, bro. I told you about them Gamera movies.
>>18386>I'm gonna give Showa Gamera a watch.I'm not to sure if that's a good idea.
>>18392Watching Gamera VS Jiger RIGHT NOW.THIS IDEA IS THE BEST IDEA!
There's no other thread to put this....but DAMN is this song catchy. He's basically Japan's Superman, right? Except he's a giant justice-defending robot?
>>18499I always thought Ultraseven had a real catchy tune. Also I think every Godzilla movie had some great music.
>>18499Thematically, he's more like Green Lantern, but people love him like Superman.http://nicosound.anyap.info/sound/sm5297538The theme song from one of their movies.
>>18500you mean you KNEW it had great music
>>18507I love all of Akira Ifukube's stuff.
>>18507Japan needs to make that their national anthem.
I really don't know anything about Ultraman, and I get the feeling if I actually watched some fight scenes I'd quickly guffaw at how dumb he looked. But conceptually, I get it.
>>18542Actually, as far as Monster fights go, Ultraman is probably second on the the heap, having finally watched Gamera in the 90's and Gamera the Brave I'd put him on top for best giant monster fights. Godzilla third since he doesn't fight as much as either and prefers to rely on Atomic Breath. But seriously FUCK YEAH ULTRAMAN!
I should watch more of this type of shit. I really don't know why I haven't...oh, right, because I'm too restless to sit in front a screen without a goddamn controller or keyboard in my hand...
Gamera is not only full of turtle meat but also sacs.

>>18879>>18880Wow, my inner biologist is just about vomiting blood right now. But Godzilla's never really been my thing anyway so who am I to talk. The japanese movies have always seemed to me like "There's this god-like being that's simply beyond the scope of humanity's understanding and power and no shut up he just is." I'm sorry, but I like believing that mankind can band together and defeat a threat through the power of human science and will, that we aren't at the mercy of beings whose power just dwarfs ours and are our superior in every way. It's the same reason why the Cthulhu mythos bores me.Some of the monster fights are cool though 'll give you that. But then again every Godzilla since the first has been about fanboy dick-waving about which monster could beat who. It's the jap equivalent of the comic book industry.I actually liked the american one for trying something different. And probably because I knew very little about jap Godzilla back then, but even today it's a little cult favorite of mine/[spoiler] [spoiler]Well that and because it was the last movie I ever saw with my dad but that's another story.
>>18885No offense Amigo, but A LOT of what you just said was some SERIOUS Grade-A concentrated stupid.here's why!>But Godzilla's never really been my thing anyway so who am I to talk. It's the same reason why the Cthulhu mythos bores me. It's human's who usually beat, divert and or trap Godzilla in the end, if you want a prime example, Godzilla VS Mecha Godzilla from the latest seriesWe see a human pilot through her trials to end up in the cockpit of one of the most powerful machines on earth to combat Godzilla, one top of that, The X vehicles have show time and again the ability to defeat, divert or at least repel Godzilla, in short, you shouldn't talk about things you don't know.>Some of the monster fights are cool though 'll give you that. But then again every Godzilla since the first has been about fanboy dick-waving about which monster could beat who. It's the jap equivalent of the comic book industry. Again, more bullshit by someone whose never watched the movies Showa era Godzilla was the only one that might have SLIGHTLY fit that, but even for him it's not true. None of the Godzilla movies really follow a formula, HAVE YOU SEEN MOST OF THE THINGS HE FIGHTS? Humans.Usually they build some kind of monster or weapon to fight him, like Absolute Zero rays.On occasion Aliens or other creatures will emerge and he will fight them simply because they get in his way. You really didn't do you're homework on this one bro. There is no fanboy dick-waving in Godzilla, every story has some degree of freshness to it and despite Godzilla Atomic Breath being the usual end all, we've seen monsters that dwarf him like Destroyah.>>18885>actually liked the american one for trying something different. It tried NOTHING different, it added only American movie cliches like the love story and the cute smaller Godzillas for comic relief while taking away the fact of mankind's culpability in the creation of the character only having it's nuclear birth an after thought, what's more, it's killed by A FUCKING SUSPENSION BRIDGE. My problem with that death is that no one had to do anything, just trick it, there is no sense of "THIS IS WHAT WE DID TO OURSELVES...Now how do we stop it?"It's objectively a bad movie AND Godzilla movie, you have my condolences about your Father, but that movie is awful, though I'm glad you enjoy it.
>>18890Don't take it seriously, compadre, but you are an +A condescending faggot.
>>18891haha li'l troll mad he got called on his bullshit
>>18890>it's killed by A FUCKING SUSPENSION BRIDGE.Poor sucker got Kirked.
>>18895
>>18896Gigan truly looks horrific inside.
>>18893Except that's not me.Also wow Tik, I was just voicing my opinion.Yeah I haven't seen most of the movies, and I'm perfectly aware I'm missing the point in some ways. I was ju
>>18895...Does this say Godzilla has nipples?
>>18914Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to seem like I was biting your head off if that's how it seemed.
>>18916Just imagine Godzilla pinching and rubbing his nipples.
Also who's ready for the new Gamera dvds Shout has coming out soon. I can't wait to see Gyaos drink fake blood on the revolving restaurant.
I need to find a download for Godzilla Island if only to see the Jet Jaguars, and Hyper Maser Mecha-King Ghidorah.
So, how 'bout that fish-godzilla?
>>19329I wouldn't be that interested in seeing this if it weren't for the Yamato.
>>19333Not even for SHARKZILLA?
>>19329>>19336WUT
This thread reminds me that I have the original run of Ultraman and I really need to stream the whole thing one day.Pic related; it's my favorite monster.

I'm watching "Mothra vs. Godzilla" right now, and I've realized that it's a very sympathetic depiction of the big G. First, he gets washed up into a giant typhoon. He comes to, and proceeds to stagger confusedly across civilization. His tail gets caught in a tower. He panics, and struggles, and the tower comes crashing down on him. He roars in pain and surprise, and then throws the tower aside, crushing a building. He then staggers towards this castley building, and then trips in the moat and crashes into one of the towers. He lashes out in anger, which is purely natural. And then when the army starts attacking him, he naturally fights back. Would you not step on a scorpion after it has pinched you, or swat away biting flies? He's just a big, frightened animal, no more evil than a tsunami or earthquake. And my God, the dialogue in the subtitled version is borderline poetic! And the camera angles! The style of film making! Ifukube's beautiful score! The Honda's meta-reference to the "Godzilla storm" in the first movie in the opening scene! And the shobijin! They were my waifus before I knew what waifu meant!
>>19433Godzilla has hardly ever been malevolent.
I'll just leave this here.
>>19468Needs more reverb and better picking. Turn it into a surf arrangement and it sucks less. Funny that.
