We need a thread about The Wire. I just started watching it a couple months ago, and my initial thoughts were "Hurr, a show about drug dealers. This might be interesting."This is the greatest television series I have ever seen. It would not surprise me if it was the greatest television series ever made. MY GOD. EVERY GOOD THING I HEARD ABOUT IT WAS TRUE.>season three>episode 11>"Well, get on with it, motherfu–" SUDDENLY BULLETS
Never seen it, but like every other TV I haven't watched, I've been wanting to rent the DVDs
No one here watches The Wire? /mtv/, I am disappoint.
I also need to rent it
Boring and overrated.
>>17582 Not much to say now that it's over. It's an amazing series. OMAR COMIN'
I haven't finished it.(on the season with the school) It is very intricate and detailed but every season I find it takes a long time to "get into it". Also they never really resolve anything, which is sad no matter how realistic it may be. I understand how some can find it boring, especially if compared to say, The Sopranos, but I really hope it leaves it's mark on television and series become more elaborate and novel-like in the future. (why people adapt books to movies is beyond me, TV is the better platform)
>>17593>implying that it's possible for the greatest TV series ever to be overrated
I know what Clay Davis would say about The Wire."SHEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT"
I've seen it from beginning to end about 6 times, and am considering watching it again. On the other hand, I might just not watch it at all for 10 years so I can more fully enjoy it next time. Also, was anyone else totally underwhelmed by Treme? I was really hoping it would be good and gave it a chance until the very end, but was totally disappointed.
