Best. Series. Ever.

No.48273
Truly amazing series isn't it?

No.48275
Best red herring of all time.

The epitome of magnificent bastard, with the emphasis on "bastard".

Also, is it just me or does Poplin kinda resemble an older Rupert Grint...

The Free Planets ships had funny names like that, and you'll notice a lot of them are unique to boot. Triglaav and Leonidas come to mind.
There was one which showed up for one ep which had orange tiger stripes, which looked absolutely pimpin.

Also, did anyone notice a bit of an art style change between seasons 1 and 2? I seem to recall Annerose looking distinctly better in the latter seasons, compared to the first.

Personally I always hated how Reinhard grew his hair out in the later seasons.

Pretty much all the major Imperial officers had their time to shine... except perhaps the guy with a neckbeard, Steinmetz i think as well as Lennenkampf.

Wahlen ;_;

No.48306

I liked Kessler a lot. I was glad he got a chance to shine in the final season. Of course the part where you find out he has no qualms about torture was rather unnerving.

Well, benign or not, the Empire was still fascist.

>>48303
That was when everyone else started overshadowing him.

Oberstein became my favorite character when he was the ONLY person to point out and condemn the ridiculous body count caused by all of the empire's petty feuds and ego-trips. Considering the sheer body count in the series, Oberstein is a god damn humanitarian trying to prevent bloodshed.

Reinhard was a dick.

No.48338

>Reinhard was a dick.
A charismatic dick.

Also all this talk about favourite characters and nobody mentions Yang Wen-Li? Honestly though the only characters I hate are the ones you're supposed to hate.

No.48339
>>48338
And only a charismatic dick if it weren't for all the awesome people around him.

Yang, on the other hand... wow. Fave out of the Free Planets guys. Dude was amazing.

No.48341

Reinhard sent millions to their death, and caused further millions to die in combat, all in the name of unifying the galaxy.

And settling a grudge-feud with Yang-Wenli.
And punishing Reuental
and trying to attack Iserlohn... again.... and again... and again.

Oberstein was entirely correct. What was the point of sending a million guys to their deaths to attack Iserlohn YET AGAIN when there was a FAR more efficient and less-bloodthirsty method capable of forcing their cooperation?

Reunthal started it, and outright refused to surrender when contacted by Mittermeyer, his best friend.

>My face when acting like Oberstein is a saint

Sure is forgeting Westerland in here. The whole point of Oberstein is that he did what was necessary to solidify the Lohengramm dynasty and unite the empire. If that meant murdering a shit ton of people, he'd do it. He did do it, more than once.

Reinhard was certainly emotional and at times irrational, but he's...y'know...human. Like all of you. He'd also lost his best friend and sister on the same fucking day and pretty much wanted to die. He still did right by the people.

No.48360
>>48349
But Oberstein calculated that even more people would have died had the Civil War been allowed to run it's "natural" course. Obserstein didn't fuck around so I'm inclined to believe that he was actually telling the truth. Westernland helped break the stalemate of the civil war, as well as ensure that it didn't stretch out and give the Alliance time to prepare. It destroyed all credibility in the old social structure, crippled the Noble's ideological foundation, and knee-capped any potential support, as well as encouraged desertion.

In a perfectly Oberstein fashion he saved lives, and saved Reinhard's empire (but then accidentally Kircheis). All it cost was a little of Reinhard's soul.

Mecklinger : Epic moustache

No.48430
>>48417
You know I actually thought Mecklinger was going to die, like Joseph Stalin eventually did. His character design just always looked too silly for me to take seriously.

No.48443
>>48430
He looked strange overall, like Freddy Mercury with a Hamlet-era haircut.

Kempf was a given, because of the scene with his son.

But I never saw Fahrenheit biting it because he was one of the pretty ones aside from Kircheis.
