I read it. It's...alright. I found the narrative of Nana exploring her alternative sexuality to be compelling, and lord knows the subject matter is relevant to my interests. But Kaoru is an incredibly creepy, shitty dom, and I have trouble getting past that because the text doesn't seem to get that.

Oh yeeeeeeeees.

I've also taken a few glances at one of his other series, "Happy Negative Marriage." It seems alright so far.

No.47755
It's decent.

No.47761
Ok series, creepy as hell MC

No.47762
I just read all of it today.

It made me feel.

Thirded, at least from the bits I have checked out.

I'd say Nana is the MC, not Kaoru. We spend more time inside his head than hers, but the narrative focuses much more on her development than his.

Anyway, the big problem with Kaoru is simple: they aren't using safewords, but he behaves in a way that would only be acceptable if they were.

The only time I consider him to have gone over the line was that first time with Taichi. Admittedly though, that was WAAAAAY over the line.

No.47777
>>47776

He goes over the line all the time. If you aren't using safewords, then 'over the line' is the instant the sub asks to stop, and you don't or pressure them to continue.

I remember on one of their first trips out, he said that they could stop this at any time...but if they did, they would never do any further activities ever again. Holding the relationship hostage to pressure the sub into exceeding their comfort zone is so not OK.

There was also a time when he offered her a pseudo-safeword. But when she invoked it, he deliberately ignored it. Behavior that would e fine if there was an actual safe word in play that had not been invoked, but totally unacceptable without it.

The series realizes that trust is a central component of BDSM, but then seems to not realize it when Kaoru repeatedly and brazenly betrays Nana's trust. It hurts the whole thesis.

Maybe I'm only able to overlook his recklessness because, y'know, all's fair in love and doujins. Even still, I guess you can attribute it to his being new to the whole thing, rather than just being an asshole. Admittedly, Kaoru is a jerk like that, but hey, he's an unpopular teenager with an SM fetish.

Also, I haven't been really following this much, since I'm new to it. Are there still new releases coming out, or are we on hiatus or something? I know it changed over to Nana to Kaoru Arashi, I just didn't know where that puts us.

No.47851
>>47850
There's still new releases. Arashi is a side-story though I think.

I personally have trouble buying that it'd be a new concept to him, because it's so basic and he's clearly done a lot of research on the subject. Also, the author's missed at least two chances for someone more experienced with the subject to inform him that he's doing it wrong, so it may be an authorial failure.

Either way, even if it is an honest mistake on his part, the fact that he's playing the role of the experienced, knowledgable teacher on the subject means that it's not really an excuseable one in my eyes. Even if he doesn't know about this, he should.

I guess I'm just holding this to a higher standard than I do run-of-the-mill bondage pornography. It's great fap material, yes, but it clearly wants to be more than that and by and large IS more than that.

Just so that I'm being completely fair to the guy: he clearly wants to do it right, and he's not so shitty that he would put her in danger. He clearly gets that creating the illusion of danger while still being totally in control of the situation is key. And he puts a lot of work into it.

If he'd just start using safe words, not hold the whole relationship hostage, and learn to separate it from his everyday life, he'd be pretty damn good.

No.47914
Yeah, I follow it. Just about the only thing I read online too.

Anyways, I don't feel like I have anything else to add that hasn't already been said for now.

Speaking of Arashi, I'm guessing that this means we're going to be losing Tachi? Just judging from the looks of the story from the first one, is all. Admittedly, it looks like there'll be lots more with Mitsuko, though, so it's all good to me.

No.47938
Heeeellllll yeah I do.

I'd put Kaoru's behavior down to the fact that they aren't actually in an S&M relationship. They aren't dating, they aren't in a 'scene', there are no real rules and regulations for what they are doing; he's trying to do his best, but everyone's only human, and he's limited in what he can do with Nana. He knows that he can't spoil the 'myth' that has been created between them, and to have just let her use him for her own perverse pleasures, even if he wanted those pleasures too...that wouldn't have been right. But to just flat-out deny her would've been wrong too, and not just on a selfishly emotional level.

In short...I think I like Nana to Kaoru so much because damn, it's a mess despite everyone trying to give it their all. And that's exactly how real relationships are.

No.47953
I had to look into this series because of you guys, and I think it's actually pretty interesting. There aren't many series that go over emotional manipulation.

Kaoru looks like Toad from X-Men to me though so it makes it KINDA WEIRD

No.47955
>>47938

...uh? They might not be dating or attending events but I'm not really sure how you can straight-faced say that they aren't in a BDSM relationship.

No.47983
>>47955

There seems to be a misunderstanding on the word 'relationship'. How should I put it...

-I wrote a fairly long post, but deleted it because it was obvious it'd need to be even longer for you to understand where I'm coming from. Suffice to say that, yes they are doing BDSM things, but no, they aren't doing it in a relationship format.

That'll do.

No.47987
>>47983

Ooookay then, bro.

No.48052
Curse this series for skewing my opinion of a good BDSM-themed story. Other ones just don't do it any more.

No.48343
Looks like a new issue's out.

...And yet nothing happens. DAAAAAAAMN!

No.48344

>implying Taichi bathing isn't something notable

No.48375
>>48343

I wouldn't say that exactly; everything I hoped would happen did happen. That is to say, the air of misunderstanding was cleared.

So, it was fine.
