So I've been thinking of getting some kind of tablet for a while, but I have no idea what to look for. What do you use, /draw/?
I use a Wacom Intuos 4, which certainly took a chunk out of my wallet, but I recommend getting a Bamboo if you want quality for a reasonable price.
I have a bamboo, it's all right. I'm kind of wondering if I should have gotten an Intuos instead.
I have an Intuos4 and an Intuos3. Really, if you can find a good-sized Intuos3, you'll probably knock off a good fifty/hundred bucks from the price of a 4 and still do quite well. That said, there's nothing wrong with starting off with a Bamboo as your first tablet. That way it'll hurt less if you don't end up digging it.
I love my Intuos4. Used to have a Volito1 and 2. The Intuos has allowed me to draw directly to my system with ease.
As said by everyone in this thread, Wacom is the go-to company for quality tablets. Intuos for high-end, and Bamboo (which I use) for budget. For more detailed explanations, /ic/ gives us this.http://icrit.org/tablets.html
I say get a Bamboo. I use a Cintiq 12WX with my PC and an Intuos4 Small with my laptop, but I'm utterly spoiled. A Bamboo Pen & Touch will do everything you need. The only reason I really got the Intuos4 was because my store of choice was sold out of the Pen & Touch at the time.
I have a Graphire 3. Since nobody's mentioning them any more, I guess they're phased out. Bamboo seem to be the new series below Intuos.
Size wise, you probably won't need anything bigger than A5 or A6.Back when I had more money than sense, I got an Intuous 3 A4, not realising how big it actually was. Due to the size of my computer desk, I only use the bottom half of it, the keyboard covers the top half.
Wacom Graphire Bluetooth. Was a whole lot, but I love it. If you're serious about art, I'd recommend a bamboo or an intuos (depends on your budget). If you're not, just go to an electronics store or something and see if they have a cheap one.
>>32016I used to have one of those. Eventually time wore on it, I don't know why, and it stopped working, just in time for Christmas, so I got my Bamboo then.
>>32016I used to have a Graphire2. I miss the built in pen compartment...
