I've finally finished my personal projects and now it's time to work on quick sketches. Besides this opening post, I won't post any old work, just your requests. I will thank you ahead of time for any constructive criticisms or advice.
A project I'm currently working on to practice drawing and storytelling.
>>21460ewww worms.I'm not entirely sure you're conveying enough emotion here, but I also don't know the pages that precede this. You could try some less straightforward imagery. The text is trying to cover a lot of ground but the images don't feel quite wild or delirious just yet.
Might as well put these up here.
Seems like some of my other new drawings have already been submitted here somewhere.
And some recent sequentials. No text. A bit large.
Hey, since you're into fanservicey stuff, how about some venomcass?
>>23628Mind if I ink and color this one?
>>23640If I get around to it.>>23643Knock your socks off. Do you really even need to ask?
>>23644Thanks a bundle.
>>23644Well, that's just how i roll.Reposting from https://plus4chan.org/boards/coc/res/12041.html#i16458
>>23651Amazingly well done. I feel bad for letting you use the low resolution, and you probably came across some odd bumps from me having to piece the drawing together.Only grind I have is that the costume was based on another drawfag's design, where the suit didn't have and leggings. But it still looks good, either way.Still, I'm shocked. Do you have a DA page to put this up (so I can fave) or do you mind if I post it up on mine?
>>23652Nah, low res was ok, i wasn't enthuthiastic about it enough to make inks any more fitting the original lines anyway. Not the classic costume, huh? Well that explained a thing or two.And i guess I'm not putting it on my DA anytime soon, since it belongs to the "some incredibly silly things i did while browsing 4chan" category. Plus more than half the work is not even mine and for psychological reasons yet undetermined i have hard times posting collaborations with other drawbros. And i'm actually more of a Flickr person. In any case, keep up the good work!
Sir, the drawings you've posted are amazing. I've always wanted to be able to draw women, but I find it difficult.Sorry for my questions, but how long have you been drawing? Do you draw a lot of real-life things/people? I really want to get better. Also, what kind of paper and pencils do you use? Your stuff is strangely blue in spots.
>>23724I've been drawing for three years. I started about when I turned seventeen. For some of these sketches, I just use regular printer paper. It's really hard to erase lines on that paper, so just sketches is fine. For the larger, more professional paper, I buy Blue Line Pro from their website. Hobby Lobby also sells BLP-imitation paper (11x17"), but its texture feels kind of dirty. I'd get it since it's much cheaper, gives you more paper, and it's close to the same quality as the real thing, but only for practice.I use .3 HB and 2H drafting pencil, and a .5 HB pencil to darken the lines. I use a regular graphite pencil to color in shadesThe drawings I scan come out smudgy and weird because my scanner is half my age, and can only scan a quarter of a page at a time. I'm also quite lazy at darkening pieces (I normally just use an overlay brush).
>>23728Hmm...I guess I should stop using mechanical lead pencils I use to take notes.Thanks.
>>23733Heh, you're not the only one who does that bro. I have actual art supplies, but I don't see the point in wasting them on practice pieces or drawfaggotry.
Might as well put these up. Some designs for a comic, coinciding for the 24hrs. comic thing.
No face for this girl. Also, these aren't all final designs.
Sixth and final design page.
Good to see you around Sir.
This two interacting in some way :3Damn, sometimes i love white-haired C-list-yet-badass chicks
>>26048superior spiral pairingone arm/six arms ftw
Could use your thoughts, guys.Drew this as a cover for a small comic, but I'm not completely sure about this. Think there's anything I should do to make it better? And other than constructive criticism, is the splash idea okay?
>>26317I might put more detail into the floor, since it occupies a pretty large part of the image. Then again, you may be planning for that to happen in the coloring stage.
>>26318Actually I thought exactly the opposite and would put less on the floor. As a cover illustration goes, I think the points of focus do the wrong things. Mostly I think the character's faces are not ideally placed. In particular the girl in the foreground is too close to the edge of the page for a critical element.Wait... this is in the sky isn't it? Wouldn't it be cool if the floor was all glass window panes and you could see out into the city and the clouds that way?
>>26320The girl in the foreground is purposely put that way to put distance between the other two characters. I purposely made her a little 'detached.' She's even looking away. The glass floor is a cool idea, but I wanted it to look a little dark.If anything, I want to make the room darker.
>>26317Are we looking at them through glass, or are those speed lines? If its glass I've got a problem, cause they're all at different angles. If they're speed lines, I don't see the point of them. Its not the sort of piece that I'd use speed lines in, there's nothing dynamic going on.
>>26336Oh, thanks for reminding me. I forgot to erase a couple. It's suppose to be light, but I screwed up a few. I'm thinking of erasing them entirely. And c'mon. Speed lines? I'm obviously better than to draw that on people that are lying down.
>>26325A good rule of thumb is to keep anything important like heads or things like that at least a finger's breadth from the cutoff line on the edge of the page, if only to avoid tangents. If something is important, even if it's disconnected, you probably don't want it touching the border without obvious intentional overlap.
>>26344That's really good advice, thank you. Another tip I heard is to never cut off a character by a joint. Never cut them off at the elbow, wrist, fingertip, knee or whatever. It's always somewhere below or above, somewhere in the middle of their limbs.
>>26341If its light there should be much deeper shadows on one side, bro. And I figured you were too good to do that, but that's what they looked the most like to me.
I miss Sir...
>>28821Then check on and visit Doodle Chat more often. He's there on occasion.
>>19244 March 30, 2009>>30466 Feb 14, 2010Fucking. WOW. Thats killer improvement.
I think I'll try to do Ralph and Sue Dibny.
>>31421I was actually commissioned to do Donna Troy/Kyle Rayner.I decided to add Jade in the background, but she doesn't have any real distinguishing facial features besides being green.
Noriko and Jung Freud from Gunbuster symetrically docking
>>32107Should have made some up then.
Thought it was worth mentioning that I'll be doing full-fledged commissions, not just sketches, for a negotiable price. You can note my DA account at fsbot.deviantart.comI know it may seem silly to ask in a board of drawfags giving away free drawings, but then again, there is one Sir, and I'm currently in need of money.I've been reserved about nudity and haven't done actual porn, but at this point in time.... needless to say, I'll be jobless for the summer and need whatever to keep me afloat until fall.
>>33569Oh shit yeah, I'll send you a commision your way.
Experimenting with different inks. If you have any tips, I'd love to hear them.
>>33639Hey, I don't have one of those Deviantart accounts. Can I send you an email about that commision?
