/co/ I'm looking to become a drawfag. My problem is I have no idea how to scan well or draw on the computer....so I was hoping you seasoned vets would help out.
If you're looking into drawing on the computer, get yourself a tablet.WACOMWACOMWACOMSeriously, don't bother with anyone else.
>>31374Okie doke I got my old one out now.
>>31374I've been thinking of getting a tablet for drawfagging. Any tips on what to look for, aside from WACOM? Is bigger better? Can it be too big? And so on?
Working on some pixel art. Tell me what you think so far! I need all the encouragement I can get to keep on going.
>>31841>>31839Thank you for all your tips everyone. I'll not laze around with the linework next time, and thank you for the compliments. This is probably where I'm stopping for now. sadly armless!
>>31841Also, I see what you mean by flat. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that and try to avoid it. Thanks again for the crits!
>>31845Just keep it up. I really want to see how this turns out once all the tips are taken into account.

Hi, I'm trying to get myself back into art. Please critique me!
>>31705Thank you! This is my final version, and then I'm done for the night.
>>31706The nose and cheekbones still look really long.
>>31713Ah, thank you for your observation. Yeah, you're right, they do look too big still. I probably won't mess with this picture anymore, but I'll keep that in mind for the next piece of study I work on. Once again thank you!
Go in paint and spend five minutes making a character.
I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULD NOT DRAW BUZZ LIGHTYEAR.I DID NOT SUCCEED.
My current WIP.I'm stuck... Something wrong here...Critique needed.
>>31691Well, I shortened the neck, and outlined some possible alternations (the red ones).
>>31692OK, now it looks better?
>>31702You're not really accounting for the way the shoulder and neck muscles work, so it looks like her head has just been pasted on top. Um. I'll be back a little later with a redline of what I mean. You could probably improve it a lot just by pulling the visible shoulder out more.
I guess this board isn't really for this, but looking for suggestions... Based on a photograph, tried to make the proportions closer to Shego's
I approve of naked Shego ass. <3
i luv butts too....with me , exploring different shapez and sizes are fun lol
MAKING A THREAD WITH MY ARTCOMMENT ON IT IF YOU MUSTPIC RELATED ITS PROBABLY WHATS ABOUT TO HAPPEN
You sure is gifted Sage. You should use your precious gift, you should use it...to fight crime.Thats my request, use your drawing skills to fight crime.

Draw a puppy dog and a steam roller hugging.
So, if I were to rig OC to support a large amount of people, would anyone be interested in drawing with it as an alternative to doodle chat? It's a VERY small program size (not even 1 MB) and it has layers and some very common tools.
>>31637Witchcraft!
the only issue is the synchronization. things get fucked up for whoever joins late if there's already been a lot of drawing going on for a while. you'd have to make it a scheduled event or something.
I'd be down. Just expect me to erase everything I draw no matter the quality.
People of /draw/, lend me your ears, or pencils, tablets, what have you; img.icrit.orgIt's a refugee site for those tired of 4chan's /ic/ for various reasons, and I thought, as slow as /draw/ is, it wouldn't hurt to let you all know of it.Now, a word of warning, at the moment the /ic/ board is under Forced Anon, mainly to build a small userbase, so it's only temporary. Other than that, the site is very willing to help those aspiring to draw well and help them iron out the kinks in their work.
>>31455yeah.
>>31456Do not forget that they even fight amonsgt themself. not even the lowest thread on concept art has this amount of hatred, they at least redline the thing. They are very angry if their opinions are rejected and not followed.
>>31426that's because she sounds like an /ic/ troll tartlet and these guys are bitter /ic/ rejects, if she had just said animu isn't the only thing she draws instead of hitting the classic IT'S MY STYLE notes nobody would have made an issue out of itconsidering sketchy is an /ic/ oldfag i have no idea how she hasn't picked up on the right things to say to get away with drawing animu already>>31457the only thread there that has anything approaching hate is that thread with the dumbass aspie and that's just irc drama
So, when you started to draw, what style? Anime? Realism? Cartoons? What were you inspired by? Was there a huge amount of something you drew?I started off with anime and was obsessed with kawaii girly mangas. It still kind of shows, since I still sux at males.
Started with copying sprites out of the Eternal Champions game for sega genesis. When internet came around I used to chat to japanese people learning english and exchange art. My older "sister" was growing up during the 80's in japan so she started in an older style which I love. I don't draw much now but it shifted towards fine art and eventually when I get around to it I'll begin studying colour theory more often.
Dragon ball got me to start drawing comics and then a friend of mine who's talent was much greater then mine came along and he kinda spurred me on to continue until I got better.
I drew Sonic the Hedgehog and Gundams.
This was going to be Superman making fun of Batman behind his back. I might get to it later.
I still want to finish this one eventually, but it's been on hold FOREVER.He's gonna have a raven construct, and HP Lovecraft will be behind him with some tentacle contstructs too.
>>31487 Have them fighting Hemmingway and Melville as Green Lanterns.
>>31480Fantastic. :3
Low and behold! A new Theme! In lieu of the usual spiel, I've decided on a quick n' dirty post.A Groovie Ghoul !iMToXIeSqk is the winner, with his entertaining commentary on the Japanese porn game industry!Which makes this week's experiment...NEXT SUNDAY A.D.Which is, of course, the not too distant future. You can draw Joels, and Mikes, And Toms, and Crows, And Gypsies, and Foresters, And Franks, And Sattelites of Love and Bad movies, and all sorts of stuff you might in Next Sunday A.D.! I want to make a quick shout out to Charlie Delta who has been terrific since the beginning, and possibly the only person to participate in each and every art jam, and we love him for it. I also want to mention Jonix and DUHRR who have also both been great sports whom have seen fit to grace us with their talents throughout most of this experiment. I also would like to welcome back Hellstroem, who we haven't seen in quite a while, and it's always a pleasure to see his new work. I also would just like to say I really really liked Anonymous's gorgeous piece, of a dinosaur painting, and wanted to apologize to him for not declaring him the winner. I really liked his suggestion, though I wasn't sure if many people would be interested in drawing it. Similarly, I want to thank our pal Godless Communism for his continuous contributions to this art jam. Really, I want to thank everyone who participates, even just once, for your patience, and your help in making this experiment of mine a moderate success. The goal of this was to get /draw/ more active, and I think this has worked to a point. This week, I'm going to switch back to the usual one week standard, because two weeks did not yield the results I desired. So, quick run down of the rules: Message too long. >>31471Gaaaah... okay okay, I'll get something in!
What a strange and deplorable future this is...Next Week: Knights
Welp, thread locked.
when it comes to art, do you think the end justifies the means? do you use any tools or techniques at your disposal to make your art nicer, or do you have a more hardcore stance, i.e. you don't use any special paint program tools or standardized "gimmicks"?I ask this because a majority of my art professors consider blur tools, coloring the painting in black & white first then coloring it, layers, etc. to be "cheating", so i want to get your opinions on it. pic utterly unrelated
>>31430Check out wasp boy 3 pain proof prince, its not safe for work I think but that picture I posted is a drop in the water compared to that.http://yuni.deviantart.com/gallery/#_browseGoing ontopic, for some the basics are shortcuts, since they think its better to learn it slowly, as they will learn every detail then. Of course that is their opinion.

We had a lot of people in my illustration class believe this. That somehow using digital means made you lesser, or that someone who traces the outline of a body to fill it in for practice was doing it wrong. Of course when you point out that people like rembrandt (spelling?) chose to trace using the camera obscura, and then have his apprentices block in most of the painting for him they all shut up. Art is not special, and the people who believe that using special paint tools to enhance their images are tools are...well, tools. There are some things I do find cheating, like tracing over another person's work, or taking certain things such as other people's images/designs as "stock". Or when people copy images from Hogarth's books and put clothes on them ;DReally all those tools you mentioned OP have been used by almost every artist. The only difference is that your teacher is a tool who wants to feel special for not "cheating" versus improving his techniques.
Doodlan~
>>31392 isn't that picture yours though?
>>31405I wish I could take credit for a color piece like that but basically my tablet's been on a shelf pretty much since that dirty pair sketch and I've been away for much of the last month. Only drawings I'd have to show for it are lousy scribbles in a notebook that'd make even my lamest oekaki look like the Mona Lisa.
>>31408 haha, I could've sworn that pic was yours. The style is so similar. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise.
