to the just plain goddamn awesome.

Beef-eatin', thug-beatin', head-buttin' action of the best variety. Hellz yeah.

Seriously though, I was hoping we'd get ALOT more of these after Castle Crashers. I guess it was for the best that we're not flooded with these again but I need new things to piledrive/headbutt/suplex.

I hate those fucking hockey mask guys with the knives, they are the biggest pain in the ass. This game is great, except that the bosses are usually the easiest part of the level.

Also, here, have some Ninja Baseball Batman let's play with me/jonix/dr gradamit

I disagree about battletoads. Fuck those hoverbikes. Now SUPER Battletoads on the other hand...deliciously hoverbike free.

>>91556
They have the arcade version on Xbox Live. It's mostly the same as the Genesis game really but STILL!

I WARN YOU ALL NOW!

DON'T EVER PLAY BATTLETOADS IN BATTLEMANIACS

THERE IS ONLY ONE BEAT 'EM UP LEVEL AND THE REST ARE STUPID MINI GAMES

No.91581

I almost felt like those first two levels made up for the rest of the game...almost.

No.91589
Best beat'em ups ever created:

1. Streets Of Rage 2 (megadrive/genesis)
2. Double Dragon 2 (NES)
3. Streets Of Rage (megadrive/genesis)

turtles in time pisses me off due to all the random factors in the game which make it almost impossible to learn to master compltely.

I hate River City Ransom. Enjoy your terrible in-game lag (as if the slow ass fighting wasn't enough) and spending half of the game taking showers and drinking tea if that's what you're into.

and yes, the GBA version of double dragon is underrated.

No.91595
>>91589
Fuck you, Turtles In Time is awesome. Just because the combat is randomly challenging doesn't make it less so.

Also, does anyone else remember those Batman beat-em-ups for the Super Nintendo?

No.91599
>>91595
TMNT4 was awesome. What random factors? Also yeah I do the adventures of Batman and Robin was pretty neat and I liked Batman Returns but I remember it being hard.

Loved this shit as a kid. Only played it once but loved the chick and the smaller PRedator

Translation: I am bad at these games.

No.91626
I have absolutely no memory of what I was going to look up but...yeah...

No.91628
Anyone have a rom of this already patched with the 100% translation? I've been trying to do it myself but no dice.

No.91630
>>91602
I could beat TMNTIV on Hard with a friend without any of us loosing a single life.

And the lag in co-op in RcR is a good enough reason not to play it, by my standards (and I find the gameplay boring in any case).

>>91595
There quite a few stuff which are semi-random and usually it's the crappy stuff that takes away a SHITLOAD of health, usually it's things like traps and not even enemies. This kind of stuff is what they hinerited from arcade beat'em ups where the aim is to be sure to have the player put more than one credit into the game if he wants to beat it, even if he is good. But in a console game, it doesn't have any reason to be there, and for players like me and my bro who like to play their co-op games until they master them so that they can beat them without loosing many lives (if any), this kind of stuff is really annoying when they are semi-random.

No.91635
>>91630
Nope, I still don't see where you're coming with the random factors bit.

Could you further elaborate?

No.91647
>>91630
I remmeber traps on like the pirate level and whatnot but nothing ever changes they always appear at the same point. Unless the arcade one is different from the SNES version...

No.91658

a little bit, yeah.

http://hg101.kontek.net/tmntbeatemups/tmntbeatemups.htm

but yeah, different strokes and all that. Who cares if Ness dislikes a couple games?

We should be more concerned that the U.S. never got this.

I was referring more to getting a PS2 version. I actually want to import PS2 stuff now.

No.91686
  >>91628

I did at one point. Truthfully it isn't worth it, the fighting is slow and stupid (press punch, your guy will swing twice, this is an exceptional pain in the ass when you're surrounded). The better version is the uglier one, which had Riki and Kunio in jail at the beginning and everyone had huge heads, don't remember the name.

>>91658

The arcade version was/is all over here, but here, have a superior product, complete with awful dialogue and awesome boss fights.

>>91647

It's not, though the SNES version has substantially more gimped AI, it's a whole lot easier than the arcade counterpart. And the odd thing is, in my opinion TMNT Arcade is harder than Turtles in Time, because you bump into less gigantic waves of enemies.

And if the SNES version is STILL too hard, you could always play the Genesis version, Hyperstone Heist.

PS, Ness, it's spelled losing, loosing is something you do to ropes and chains.

Once again, referring to the PS2 version.

And I totally have Zombie Revenge but it's severely lacking in suplexes.

No.91716

I know, I was just relating to the game.

How 'bout Fighting Force?

No.91718
  >>91716
It makes up for it's lack of suplexes by giving that big dude a huge-ass uppercut. Gets more hate than it deserves too.

Oh, and back to that Kunio game, yeah, that other one is boss. I'm playing it on and off again right now actually. That said, I still want to play that bad one. Call it morbid curiosity.

Also, forgot to link this yesterday. Only just recently read this. Double Dragon Advance seemed like it was meant to be something even greater than it ended up being.

No.91744
  >>91718

The crappy one is beautiful. I mean the colours are a little dark and not contrast-y, which contrasts with the rest of the Kunio games, but it's great looking, all the graphics and animations are awesome. I could see an intrepid developer removing the shit combat they stuck in it, and making a genuine Double Dragon/Kunio old-school Technos Corp game out of it. But I also don't like Renegade, so it might be my fault. I'll check my library to see if I have it for you.

Have you ever played Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu? The romtranslation just calls it Riki Kunio. It's a beat-em-up that takes place in arenas, where you beat teams until you work your way up to the Dragon Twins. It's like a combination Beat Em Up/Wrestling game where you use different fighting styles like karate, kung fu, wrestling, and street fighting, I think. Love it.

The guy in this video is cheating and using one of the Dragon Twins in his game.

I've heard of it but that's the first time I've seen a video of it. That looks WAY cooler than I thought it would.

No.91748
>>91747

It's definitely the best Kunio game on the NES in my opinion, the graphics are awesome, AND it has a co-op story mode. I wish it had more arenas.

  Have an Armored Warriors bump.

Pretty unique and fun, but the enemies will often come from off-screen really fast and nail you, especially if you're in one of the slower mechs, Blodia or Guldin pretty much.

This game also has a character who looks oddly like Bill from Left for Dead.

Does Dead Rising count?

Probably not but I didn't feel like triple posting in the general thread.

But yeah....is that who I think it is?

No.93015
  >>92968

It doesn't count, but it is fun as heck. B) And if you are asking if that's Frank, I don't think so, but I hope you can get some clothes to look like him, or unlock him for multiplayer or something.

Here's a blast from my past, and also in my opinion, a pretty under-rated game. I like this waaaaay more than the SNES version, but I will post a video from that as well, because I do think it's cool.

No.93018
The SNES game had the cool feature where you had to morph into your sentai costume, which is pretty all right, but I've never been a huge fan of 2D plane beat em ups. Still a good game, but not as good as the Genesis version imho.

Sage for double-post.
