Hyuk, told you it wasn't System Shock 3.

No.89827
Yes we're aware of that by now, in case reading General Threads is beyond your capabilities.

No.89832
Doesn't mean they aren't working on something. We'll only know when SHODAN goes Viral that something is up.

Also this feels like Wild Wild West to an extreme degree...or maybe Screw On Head...hoping for the latter.

I AM

SO INCREDIBLY EXCITE

No.89840
So how ridiculous is the past going to become? In the first Bioshock we're treated to a sort of similar timeline that just had some eccentric randians building an underwater city that failed. Everything else happened regularly except some Russian was able to adopt a successful business life as an American after the rise of the USSR. Now we have people in the early 20th century able to manufacture and successfully produce a flying city that travels the globe on what I assume is balloons fueled by helium protected by damn automatons. How crazy are they going to make this Bioshock world?

No.89842
>>89840
It's completely separate from the Bioshock world, they are just coasting on the name.

I like to think of this new world as "What if Victorian Flying Contraptions worked?"

No.89843
Does this mean we're not going to get another Rapture romp with Big Sister protagonist action? :<

Not to say that this doesn't look super fucking awesome, though. Flying cities are always cool.

No.89845
>>89843
This is like the Fallout New Vegas game, more of a side game than a continuation, besides, Bioshock 3 is also confirmed in devo, so shits all tight.

Yaaaaay
I am going to draw a Bioshock fanart sketchdump like, right now to celebrate.

Excellent.

No.89856
Putting aside whatever this is, I hope Bioshock 3 involves an ending teaser that ties Bioshock to System Shock, which they then follow up with SS3. Then maybe all these Bioshock Kids will learn what a REAL mindfuck, shootan game is about.

No.89858
>>89856
Yes, yes Granpa.

System Shock was the dopest shit ever shit on a plate, you adore it, now sit back in the bed and eat your Jell-o Puddin'.

No.89859
>>89858
No, System Shock was a rough diamond (much like Bioshock actually). System Shock TWO was the dopest shit ever shat on a plate.

No but seriously the only bad "-Shock" game is Bioshock 2 and this Infinite business actually looks interesting. I especially like how it's apparently supposed to be America's Death Star. That's just BEGGING for things to go horribly wrong.

No.89860
>>89859
2 wasn't objectively bad, just too short and with too much focus on a HORRID multiplayer.

No.89861
It was a sequel that built on plot points and hanging threads that DID NOT ACTUALLY EXIST.

The only awesome part was Sinclair, who THEY FUCKING KILL.

ELANOR YOU FOOL!

JOHNNY TOPSIDE!

The support characters were GEMS, ALEXANDER!

I find the main problem exists in EXTREMELY weak antagonists.

Sinclair was a bro

No.89868
Look at the bright side:

The Bioshock writers obviously don't care about retcons, so Sinclair can be back in Bioshock 3 to help us fight Andrew Ryan's Backup ADAM Clone.

Not enough optimism in this thread, and thus:

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD EEEEEEEEEEEE

No.89899
Hoping like hell it has a crazy awesome sky bike chase sequence.

No.89903
God, I love it when a developer avoids getting stuck trying to bottle their own lightning.
>>89842
Man, it's even better than that: This is a World's Fair turned rogue state.

No.89930
YES PLEASE THANK YOU

No.90052
I can't wait to see how bigoted this Saltonstall guy is. No, really, I'm being completely serious. I'm hoping he straddles the line between awkwardly humorous and legitimately offensive. After the disappointment that was Sophia Lamb I need another over-the-top antagonist to hate in this series.

http://kotaku.com/5614097/it-would-be-dishonest-to-say-this-is-not-bioshock

A few things:

1) I would work for Ken Levine for FREE if he asked me. Jesus christ, nerdcrush on that man like whoa.
2) Maybe connected to the first two games, maybe not. Levine won't say.
3) Elizabeth seems to be an Elika-ish character and that's OK with me.

4) I really am so retarded excited about this game and only now have begun to form coherent thoughts. I'm excited about the Skyline-- part rollercoaster, part battlefield, all amazing. I'm excited that there seems to be more of an exploration element to this game that the first two Bioshocks were sorely missing. By that, I mean, like, there are going to be "neutral" parties in Infinite. In Bioshock, you couldn't go anywhere and explore without something trying to murder you to death. Sometimes, I just wanted to ogle the scenery. But in Infinite, not everyone is trying to kill you right off the bat. Kotaku mentioned in their preview that you can go into a bar and people won't start shooting at you instantly. It sounds a bit like the Fallout/Bioshock hybrid I was hoping for and that makes me a little bit wet. I'm excited just for the aesthetic of the whole affair-- old colonial-esque architecture instead of art nouveau. That part in the trailer where the... robot? thing? hurls Booker through a window and you can see all of Columbia? I let out an actual "eee" of joy.

And so many other things, of course, but getting all my thoughts sorted out is a bit difficult. The point is-- holy jesus, Bioshock Infinite. Is it 2012 yet?

No.90215
converting this into the BioShock general thread to say this:

http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Minerva's_Den

WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED OF THIS. HOLY SHIT FUCK YES. SINGLE PLAYER DLC.

No.90226
>>90215
Because it's bullshit like that other DLC, we were promised there would be DLC to expand on Single Player, instead we get a glorified minigame with a completely separate Big Daddy. Just like how they tried to pass the fucking bullshit Protect Trail off as decent or even fucking worthwhile.

Thinking about how good/realistic this guy's hysterical screaming and groaning and panting is... now I wonder if voice acting is an extremely awkward profession.

least it isn't like some of the Japanese Game Industry, ohh those games.

No.90336
Hopefully this has more outdoor areas or the indoor areas are actually lit. I've never liked the dark indoor areas in the first two games, they scared the shit outta me.

No.90351
>>90336
You wouldn't last 10 seconds in a System Shock game then.

DARK CORRIDORS OF WIRES AND CYBER MUTANTS: THE GAMES.

No.90423
>>90280
HOLY SHIT

Should I play SS1 before this?

No.90425
>>90423
It's not... REALLY required. SS1 doesn't have nearly as much of a story as SS2 does, and it's much more rough all around. It wouldn't hurt to play it, but you wouldn't be missing anything if you skipped over it.

No.90430
>>89898
Let me second you!
This looks gorgeous.

Thanks for this anon. :3
