details to follow
The way I see it, XYZ are the protagonists. They've been stranded and forced to work together, they become a close knit team. Then they work to fight against the rest of the 23.You can organize it however you'd like, but Vowel Corps is tops.Y is only there because he comes from a wealthy background and his connections got him in. Nobody takes him seriously, but he has a good heart and an apatite to match.Z spent his youth doing science fairs and whatnot, eventually developing an "all-seeing eye"/FM radio. This invention would have won him the science fair, but while using himself as a test subject, he couldn't take it off and had to drop out of the contest. The eye/radio has artificial intelligence and is trying to become his friend, but ends up being more harmful than helpful.X was a rebel during his youth. After spending a term in juvie for getting into a mall fight, he decides to renounce his ways and try to make things better and safer for the people of his city. He wears a domino mask to hide his new identity from his shameful past.Due to their collectively mediocre experiences with leadership and poor rankings on aptitude test (Z was caught 'cheating'; it was the radio's fault), they were partnered up and have to adjust to working together.Y - Invulnerability, Force Field Regen, Transmutable Healing FactorZ - Electricity Generation, Optic Blasts, Super SpeedX - Super Strength, Claw/Blade/Club Generation (like in Prototype, kinda)
Y was (dis?)honourably discharged from the Vowel Corps for a reason we don't know yet. He for some reason sort of took to the two brothers, sensing potential in them, and that if he could make them succeed he could redeem himself somehow.we should have a sort of, wise panel of "elder"-ish letters who are more on the defense with psychic powers instead of aggressive powers. These are made of the more... exotic letters like Q, J, V, W, etc.we should have also a sort of offensive, foot soldier-ish sort of group as well made up of extremely common letters, T, S, N, R, H etc, all the ones with physical qualities. The more common the letter, the higher the rank/powerful/used they are.and of course the Vowel Corps. These officially lead the foot soldiers, A being the head honcho, E being his acting officer in the field because A is too busy most of the time being a pompous dick. Maybe Y was kicked out because of his low rank he wasn't pulling his weight, so to speak, and wasn't used enough. What if these little letter guys could like, combine their powers into mega attacks using "words" that feature all of their letters or something?
A is way, way too important to be seen often. He's like, the greatest and most powerful letter of them all. He's mysterious.but because of the way E treats all the soldiers like fucking peons people assume A is ok with this and is also a tyrranical asshole.maybe A is in actuality, a sort of a pushover, thin tall guy who just wants peace in the war between Numbers and Letters and it's E that's pushing him around and talking for him.I want I and O to be girls, a sort of "tall thin one" and "shorter curvy one" team who are best friends and work together constantly. I uses her dexterity and speed, and O actually has some psychic powers like mind beams say, under her control.
>Z should gain narcolepsy in an episode and keep it for the rest of the season.
Why are X, Y and Z fighting the other letters and what do they have to gain by defeating them? What was the dynamic of the AA before the events in which the series transpires?Where is the series set?
What's the logic behind their powers? X's setup makes the most sense, but Z's super speed is kind of tacked on and Y's powers seem kind of haphazardly thrown together.
A lot of this is just random ideas that I copypasted from a thread I had on regular /co/ really late at night. I think the stuff that I made up wasn't really well thought out. >>29263XYZ don't even have to be against the AA at this point. I think someone mentioned a number nation, so I'm going to explore that. I always like space or space installation settings, but Earth could also work.>>29268I always like throwing super speed into the mix, but it can always be taken out if it doesn't make sense. Maybe Z could get something tech based, like instantly recognizing and being able to work with/repair any kind of technology. Before I even sketched him out or knew what he looked like, I wanted Y to be the perfect wall and medic. He can take large amounts of punishment, protect his team, and heal them and himself as necessary. But if it doesn't make sense I can always make edits.
I saw "always" too much.
You know, the Alphabet Alliance could be made up of mercenaries that are contracted to fight for companies or nations, sometimes ending up with letters against letters. The letters might only ever see this as friendly competition or rivalry. They will never be hired to kill another letter as one of their contract conditions.I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas out there.
Would agents Q and U always work together? Or would U's position on the vowel corps preclude that?
>>29277My guess would be just a really intense friendship.
>>29278Q could work really closely under U, like as an assistant or right-hand-man.
Every time I look at X I think Protoman.
I likeFAN ART TIME
>>29269I think Y's powers were just worded confusingly. "Healing" is more straightforward than "transmutable healing factor" (why would he need a personal healing factor if he's invincible?), and I'm still not sure what "force field regen" means (does he regenerate force fields or does he have a force field that regenerates?). A tech theme would work for Z, but maybe you should play up the "all-seeing" aspect of the all-seeing eye.As for just what the AA is: when I first saw XYZ my first thought was, "supervillain minions," but I think they work as heroes-for-hire as well.
The AA in its entirety could be a massive PMC organization. The heads of staff would be the Vowel Corps, each acting as both generals to a squad and members of the VC. A - The first superhero. A spent his life acting as a Superman-like figure, but was somehow forced to go into hiding. He was convinced by his brother E to privatize the business and now the AA is the world's largest PMC. A spends most of his time locked in his quarters reminiscing of his glory days. His uniform is colored red. E - Cold, calculating, and all business. E is just a man trying to keep his company in the black, and will prioritize business over what might be considered right. Maybe he is the one who kicks XYZ out. His uniform is blue. I - Woman in her 30's-40's, tall and skinny. She has super speed, and her uniform is yellow. O - Man in his 30's, endowed with super strength and durability, he acts as the cigar chomping, loud mouth brute who is very active in his leadership position. His uniform is black. U - Woman in her 30's, average height but curvy. She possess enhanced intelligence and can use telekinesis, mind control, and the like. Her uniform is white.
>>29286When I posted my idea for the backstories, I intended for the all-seeing eye to be the "ultimate techno-whatever", internet, radio, camera, phone, all that junk in one thing. But the thing is slightly sentient, it can communicate with Z and project stuff for the others to see, but it can't speak full english (just little emotional bursts like a typical sidekick animal) and doesn't have complete control over its own actions just yet. It's basically a super-helpful pal that you wear on your face with its own set of problems.
>>29288Also, I and U are bros (sis'?) and U is either married or going out with Q.>>29286I meant that he can generate forcefields. Apologies for the strange wording. Someone had a good idea that the eye was a sentient AI, so I thought it would be cool if the AI could interface with different technology, allowing Z to better access it. Other ideas would be welcome though.
>>29290Y's powers all seem very defensive and supportive, which I like. It kind of gives a good team dynamic. X does the heavy damage, Z takes care of all the complicated technology stuff that CAN'T be smashed, and Y protects them while they each do their thing.

I would really like to help contribute, but I don't know what services you require, good sir!

so.... sort of scifi branch of kids next door?
>>29476Kinda!
This is the kind of mental image I got from V.Extremely cocky and egotistical, I would assume.

You know what I'm going to do today?I'm going to spend the entire day doing rough character designs for this.
>>29615God, I am slower than I thought. Two hours and I've only got like 5 designs done.
>>29616Post what you have so far! I'm extremely curious how they turn out.
I planned to do way more, but then life got in the way. I swear I'll do some more tomorrow.#1: JProbably my favorite one out of the bunch. I suffer from "I Hate Everything I Draw Syndrome".
#2: QThis one, I'm not really sure what I was going for. Psychic detective? Ironically mysterious? I can't remember.
#3: T v1I did two designs for Mr. T. This one is a more traditional heavy-armor type deal.
#4: T v2This is the second design for him. Tried to go for a "Prototype Armor Form" look, but then I remembered I haven't played Prototype in a very long time. I feel like I screwed this one up really bad.
#5: HThis one is way bigger than the rest, and I have no idea why. Oh well. I drew on him this really weird flamethrower idea I had.
