And now to bump >>81074 off the front pageThere is also an IRC, apparently. "Also, come by and check out #Bluhbluh on irc.esper.netIf you need an irc client, check out http://chat.mibbit.com/ or the mIRC application that you can download here http://www.mirc.com/get.htmlBut yeah, #Bluhbluh is pretty fuckin great"-PuddTalk about Homestuck.
I made something terrible.
>>81775If I weren't so tired and had any amount of artistic skill I would fill out that thing right now.
Reposting this because because guess what? Von Fawn and Teleharmonic are totally awesome and did this in response:http://tindeck.com/listen/jkii
I like this observation: the two colors Aradia has gone through (red and blue) coincide with Sollux's eyes. I kinda doubt anything will come of it, but it's a neat tidbit.>>81775Sweet!
>>81767You know, for those who use Firefox, the Chatzilla add-on would perfect for connecting to the IRC.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16/
>>81777You can't out terrible me, I am simply the worst there is.
>>81778I would be happy if all of the fanworks were just trolls singing things.
>>81785fuck i hate those fucking bug things fuck you fuck them fuck this gay earth.
>>81778Oh my fuck this is the cutest thing.
>>81788The house centipede is going in first. I've already come to realize none of us would make it too far into the game without nightmare trolls anyway.
>>81778I was also thinking about doing something after seeing that fanart but it seems that I've been beaten to the punch. Also, this.http://www.box.net/shared/u7guct5keh
I'm a little freaked out by the fact that troll tears are the color of their blood.
>>81806 I'm gonna go ahead and take a guess that the green was from her makeup.
dum as heck!
>>81806Human tears are slightly yellow, like blood plasma. Same with spit. The thing that makes our blood red is hemoglobin which is contained in the cells. Trolls must have some other pigment floating around in their system that masks the red (or whatever the hemoglobin equivalent is for them), and might also be found in other bodily fluids.
>>81812or they don't breathe oxygen
>>81813or have oxygen distributed through the cells in a non iron based substance
>>81812 I wonder how controlled Troll breeding is. Is their hemoglobin randomly cycled from birth or does it mutate into a color over time?
I love northernVehemence's art.
back from campingholy shit 5 days worth of updates is a lot
>>81817>haemoglobin...Dude, they're aliens. Imagine it's pigment based, like human skin. Also I thought the green was her makeup.
Hemoglobin isn't the only oxygen-carrying protein. Here's a list (heavily chopped up from Wikipedia):Myoglobin: distinct red or dark gray colorHemocyanin: blue in color when oxygenatedHemerythrin: pink/violet when oxygenatedChlorocruorin: Appears green when deoxygenated and red when oxygenatedPinnaglobin: Brown Coboglobin: colorless when oxygenated, but yellow when in veinsNow, granted, only like one of those is actually found in vertebrates, but it just shows that it's at least plausible in a vague, inaccuratre comic-book science way. It might be possible to make a case that they have the genes for all the colors, but epigenetic factors from their trials/mother grub deactivate all but one.
>>81826 Yes but being aliens which all detail about them is short and skipped to some point or immediate joke I can only speculate on what is what with them. Regular biological rules might not apply to them so who knows how much has to be rewritten for Trollogy.
dat fukken mothersprite
>>81831 So color is an effect caused by outside trauma or exposure to certain elements and factors? The larval or younger stages must be incredibly sensitive to wildly mutate in such conditions, not to mention only a few can take direct sunlight of their world.
>>81831Holy shit, I never heard of any of this! It's cool!
http://www.bougan.com/InsanityEtc/Animations/doublerainbow.htmlneeds to be reposted
>>81834Actually, biological systems have precision handled pretty well. Fruit fly embryos have a system where in order to lay out a body plan, they create stripes of increasing complexity using gradients of protein transcripts. It starts off with just a couple broadly defined zones, but near the end of its development the embryo has 14 segments where each segment's defined area stops and the next one's starts in the space between two adjacent cells. The initial signals are very coarse, but you can use coarse tools to build fine ones.Anyways, there doesn't have to be just one stimulus, and the trolls' innards don't have to be very precise. If a troll grub is only can only distinguish between, say, absence/presence or absence/partial/full presence, you can get the full color spectrum using only two or three external factors.
Does anyone have the most recent version of that troll identification chart?
>>81857This one?
Nah, it had actual images of them. But that's OK, I can probably throw one together myself. Thanks.
still nightmarish
>>81865
>>81865????
>>81869>>81870That is them these are they!ty~
>>81839 If only the control group we got wasn't exceptionally mutated even for troll children we might be able to set a standard for their kind. Oh well, guess we'll just have to document what we can.
>>81837Why not just upload it?
hey Bea, Land of Ramps and Yawns, pretty hilariousI was the requester, its me!
>>81875I suspected you!!!!dude I'm glad you liked it because I sat there for about an hour with my cursor hovering over the submit button wondering, "Is this appropriately boring or GENUINELY boring?!?!"I was gonna add a horn into it and aim for a the girl from ipanema vibe but then I was like "is that too exciting?! I don't know! Do I even have a good horn sound?! I don't oh god what do"Also welcome back!
>>81874 What the hell is this?
>>81874
Man, shipping was more fun before these updates.
I love how ever since Hussie started the heavier shipping, they've been running creepy dating ads at the top of the page.
>>81878http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSNhk5ICTIhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX0D4oZwCsA
>>81868Yeah, the mother grub has a very skull-like face.
>>81881Oh my god, Hussie's trolling of his fanbase just got so much more noticably elaborate.
>>81873I assumed that this was a representative of troll genetics, and that they're simply diverse as all hell. When you have a single powerful entity (The Mother Grub) responsible for mixing and matching the genetic data of an entire generation of trolls (Filial Pails, bluh bluh), you could potentially combine together otherwise rare and uncommon factors to make unusual genetic talents a lot more common.Basically I think that trolls use the mother grub system as biologically aided eugenics and that this probably also results in the wide (and standardized!) variety of blood colours. It also might explain why Sollux has leet mind powers but is also bipolar--those genes were linked. Or Vriska can mind-control, but has shit for social perception or a basic sense of empathy. (Aspergers cognitive style with a side of spidermom parenting), etc.Actually I take that back I could totally see her selfishness and lack of empathy/ability to put herself in other's shoes effectively as the result of having to grow up killing lots of other kids to feed her big dangerous mom. Wheeee coping mechanisms can fuck you up for later.
Andrew's Checklist-Buy food-Help friend move in-Troll the readers-Call mom-Torrent Arrested Development-Think of more creative ways to troll the readers-Update ipod-Finish book-Troll the readers
>>81887almost forgot-troll the readers with John x Karkat confirmation
Don't give up, Kanaya ;_;
>>81767Oh hey I got quoted again in the first post. I still do not know how to feel about that except that the IRC needs a better guide than "Bluh bluh I'm such a nerd' pretty fuckin great HERP." So here. #bluhbluh is a pretty fuckin great irc room, but damn if it isn't confusing to get there. You can get to our irc by going to http://chat.mibbit.com/ choosing Esper [webirc] from the drop-down menu, typing whatever you want as your nickname in the "nick" box, typing #Bluhbluh in the "Channel" box and pressing go.Also if you need or want an alternative irc program (or client) I wrote this handy guide to help you out. http://pastebin.com/XSsJqje4Once you're in we'll teach you kung fu and shit.
>>81889Yeah. ;-;It's weird seeing a troll cry for the first time! I almost expected black liquid sorrow. Kanaya has plenty of time to strike, at least. If not for that monstrous affliction known as being 13 and easily blinded by emotional anguish. Otherwise she could step in all suave with a clicked finger and sweep Vriska up with Tavros out of the way.Good thing Kanaya is anything but fucking suave.
It's hard and nobody understands.
#2 out of 12 on my Troll portrait list :3
>>81889THISKeep it on!
>>81894...okay the text redeemed that whole scenevery bittersweet>>81896cooool
Well shit. Too late for that....but I guess this means a good setup for a dramatic moment later in the arc or next arc, once the Rift happens and they all team up.
>>81894this is so hilaious; those tears on the dress, oh my godmoirail zone'd SO HARDI can't imagine what Vriska said to get Kanaya to make a fairy costume for her
I sort of love the Kanaya/Vriska/Tavros thing, especially since every other person is oblivious. Vriska is oblivious to Kanaya's attentions, Tavros is oblivious to Vriska's intentions (mostly being scared shitless of her), Kanaya even oblivious to her own intentions. It's almost exactly how most relationships work.
>>81898Certainly.But that's how life rolls.>>81896Sweet!
As much as I'd like to see Kanaya get together with Vriska I wonder if Andrew is going to pull the double reverse troll and actually make good on the Kanaya x Sollux thing from formspring.
>>81903He just might.I wouldn't put anything past him.
>>81900Vriska probably didn't have to say anything. She asked Kanaya for a gauzy fairy outfit and then Kanaya probably got a glazed-over look in her eyes and was measuring her before Vriska even finished telling her what it was for.
>>81905Or maybe Vriska said it was a secret and Kanaya did it thinking that Vriska would use it to woo HER.
>>81903With Andrew, you will never know how the pieces moves.>>81901Yeah, that's how kind fo rolls.
maybe vriska also doesn't like girls as romantic interestsas bizarre as it sounds, it can happen every now and then
>>81905You took the words right out of my mouth.
>>81908b-but my ship...!
Does anyone have a picture of Nepeta sitting on Tavros's lap?I need it for... personal reasons..
>>81911I'm guessing >>72144 isn't what you had in mind, but it's the only one I have right now.
To the anon who pointed out "Shenanigans" in the last thread or two:He finished it today.Fuck you for me enjoying fanfiction.http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?25841-MSPA-fan-fiction&p=3988720&viewfull=1#post3988720Pic unrelated but now I miss John and co like a bitch
this is actually hitting a little close to homeam i feeling...emotions?
>>81912This was actually exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
>>81914Naw, I doubt it Bea. It's probably just the base chemicals in the withered remnants of your heart finally biodegrading.
Ok i'm starting to get depressed. I hope he either fixes this or at least moves on to the two unseen trolls.
>>81911Also this
>>81919Or this?
>>81918I think this is a pretty clear opening for CA to show up.Has anyone thought of any names? We kinda, stopped doing that for some reason.
>>81913So great. Very well conceived.
>>81894
>>81922Before Kanaya's Pesterlog with CA I came up with Brodus Mamasa. Brodus is obviously Broadus minus an A and mamaĊĦa is Georgian for pimp.As you can guess, I was operating under the assumption that he'd be a Snoop Dogg wannabe and not a possible PUA deeply entrenched in the moirail zone.
;A;V/K/T OT3 so hardGodamn it Hussie what are you doing to me.
I drew a thing.I am told it is a good thing.
>>81924YES PLEASE.
>>81916I keep meaning to comment on this and stopping because I can't think of what the filename reference is and that bothers and slightly shames me. <:|>>81929You are told correctly.
I've actually been feeling a little sad today because of these updates. I want good ends so bad.I'm such a girl.
>>81931I'm pretty sure it's referring to this song. It's by Juicy Karkass.
Hey, try listening to this song while looking at the last couple of updates.Man, I used to be open to a lot of Kanaya ships, but now my brain's going "NOPE, SHE'S FULL LESBO." Like, remember how Dave accused her of having a thing for Rose? I didn't think anything of it but now my shipper brain is compiling evidence of her homosexuality. It's kinda frustrating.
>>81936Wait, the Alexandra Burke version may be more appropriate because, you know, it's sung by a lady.
>>81929This is still soooo cooolll
Oh right, in case anyone else wants a faceful of miracle every time they use the PC.
>>81934Correct! You've my cracked the code of stupid puns!Kind of like Nicholas cage in National Treasure, put the constitution under a backlight to find a stain shaped like a ghostbuster.
>>81896This reminds me I should finish drawing the other 10 trolls faces in my signature style!haha just kidding. Not even Bea wants to see that.
>>81950what nowho told you that lieWHODO IT
This song came up on my playlist and it made me think of Vriska until I looked up the lyrics because Tavros is definitely not the smooth operator Caro Emerald's singing about haha. Posting it anyway cause it's a good song.I've yet to hear a suitably creepy love song to remind me of Equius but a lot of my music is in languages I don't understand so WHO KNOWS.>>81950DO IT MAGGOT
alright totally caught upLand of Maps and Treasurehttp://tindeck.com/listen/gddhsong was "inspired" in equal parts by the Yoshi's Island title music, the DKC2 title music and the Secret of Monkey's Island title music. I tried to flirt between 4/4 and 6/4 near the middle too. Not entirely sure if it worked.
>>81955>Yoshi's Island themeyesssssssss excellent!
>>81949Not going to lie, the thought of Karkat singing this song makes me laugh like a stupid schoolchild. It should be his unofficial theme song.
>>81953Bea the people have spoken and you do not want that. Are you not Democratic Bea are you a Communist?!Not that there's anyhting wrong with that.
