I really liked 'Henchman'. Finally getting to see more Marceline and even getting some character insight. Was a little surprised they switched-out the 'doughnut with jelly' song, but I liked the replacement.

Posted this over on the other /co/. It's my reasoning as to why Vampirism exists, and where and how it came to be.

Also, who possibly sired Marceline. Enjoy this brick of text:
Holy hell, it's almost one. I'll still try to make a guess from what I know.

Alright, it's known that the way that Marceline got the title of vampire queen was by killing the original vampire. It's totally possible that she was sired by him, and that the previous vampire king was someone of high power, and held their position for at most ~1000 years. Seeing as the people who were most likely in power at the time were either current presidents or future presidents, It's most likely that she was bitten by a Governor or a President of a major country.

I think I could figure out where Vampirism came from in the first place, or how it works. My guess is that Vampirism came from some sort of science experiment combining at photosynthetic creatures with normal bacterium or animal cells, altered to use the infrared spectrum and just plain red; or it came from a bacterium that absorbs nutrients from both from natural pigments or elements. The latter is probably the most probable, although it may just be both, the reason why she can't go out in the sun is because her skin is on overdrive, absorbing natural light like a sponge. If she can do this AND eat, then the reason why she absorbs red from objects and the like is because of the redder elements; Positive copper Ions; Chromium 6 Positive Ions; or Vanadium 5 Positive Ions. The science needed to make these kind of Bacterium or Altered Animal Cells would probably only restricted to the highest clearance military bases. My guess on reason being built was for more efficient Special Forces units. The whole Vampire teeth and bite thing were just a byproduct of the whole thing; stimulated bone growth and cellular reproduction.

The Flying and shape shifting? I'll need a good while on those.

Pretty much this. Ooo may be post-apocalyptic, but it's still a fantasy setting. My guess is that whatever brought down civilization also unleashed magic onto the world, like in Shadowrun and that one GURPS setting.

However, I do find Marceline's vague backstory fascinating. For all we know, she's the only surviving pre-apocalyptic human, for a given value of the word "surviving." Was she bitten before everything fell apart, or after? How long was she a vampire before she killed the Vampire King? Was she bitten in the process of killing him? Is her lackadaisical attitude a constant, or is it just a mellow period in her potentially limitless lifetime? This is all stuff that I want to learn.

The animation for the first half of the imagination episode felt really weird for some reason, can't quite put my finger on it. Although it ot beter later on, the entire episode still felt really weak.

What Have You Done was awesome through-and-through. Definately one of my favrite episodes now.

There were some weird empty awkward moments, two lines of Finn at the very beginning were oddly pronounced, without any strong fluctuation (the two "Get ready for..." lines to Jake), the time spent simply on Jake laughing and nothing else was weird (even if it's just seconds), that empty time when they're resting and eating candies or something, and Jake's eyes incorrectly drawn...
WHYD was cool, fast-paced, and let characters develop further. the first design actually looks slightly more threatening, the rotted flesh look is more just gross

I like his new look, it brings the whole "don't you dare mess with him" to a creepy level

Also, I'm pretty sure that when his seal is broken in season 2 he will get some power ups or something to look even more badass, it's like a tradition to awaken enemies.
