Just found out that CN's experimental CN/[as] bridge block could start in September, probably as soon as Labor Day. At least for 2 of those shows, Mad and the Regular Show. Don't know about the other 2 (Robotomy/Horrorbots and Secret Mountain Fort Awesome/Uncle Grandpa) yet, but hopefully they're airing soon as well.
Here's the trailer/behind the scenes look at MAD.

And in case you missed it, the Cartoonstitute pilots for Regular Show and Uncle Grandpa.

Also there's some layout art for Robotomy, from the people behind Superjail and the studio behind Venture Bros.

Both Regular Show and Robotomy are set to premiere this fall, according to
http://nerdiest-kids.com/ccsd2010-cartoon-network-panel/
However, Fort Awesome was not mentioned at the panel, meaning it'll probably premiere in 2011.
Also, someone found this leaked background from the upcoming RS page for CN's website, in case any of you wanted to slap this on your desktops.

I wasn't even fond of Angry Beavers, so I'm not looking too forward to this show. The beginning of the pilot was just to slow and dragged out, and the alternate dimension thing was completely out of left field. I know that was intentional, but I guess its not my kind of humor.

That said, I'll still watch a few episodes to give it a chance.

Be prepared for a lot of that.

By most of the time you mean only on the death slots. As for the other 2, haven't heard shit about Test getting a new season, but brace yourself for more seasons of the Garfeild Show, including a rumored US Acres crossover episode.
Anyway, here's a promo for the new MAD show.

Slots that where once filled with Looney Tunes.

What happened with that anyway? They said they where bringing it back but it just disappeared again without so much as a wimpier from anyone.

The classic stuff is okay but overall its still a little too much for kids and I think would endanger the other shows in the time slot...which might be the plan.

No.90652
>>90641

I recall hearing that Regular show was supposed to be a sort of midway point between regular Cartoon network and Adult Swim, so maybe MAD is in the same boat too.

No.90655
>>90627
Ok, I will admit that the Spy vs. Spy segment was alright at best. But other than that the rest of it was trash. All it really was, was fart jokes and toilet humor. Yes Regular Show follows the tired lol-so-random cliche, and I am getting a bit put off by these types of shows after Flapjack and Adventure Time, but I must admit the show pulls it off well.

I do however hope CN can pull off a show with a progressing story (I secretly hope Adventure Time will evolve into this in the vein of Venture Bros.) in the near future. The last one we had was Avatar, and just think what more it could have done as an [as]-lite show.

No.90661
>>90655
Excluding the original short, Adventure Time's method of operation seems to be creating an absurd setting with absurd characters and then using them for relatively coherent stories. Regular Show is more based around random events, though its "show about nothing" theme supports that.

No.90666
holy shit that mad cartoon was so bad

No.90668
>>90655

I think the closest thing to a ongoing story that cartoon network has at the moment is Mystery Inc.

I still liked MAD. But then again, I have no taste. It seemed like a Robot Chicken for kids, but with more varied animation styles beyond just stop motion dolls. I also liked how it used the styles of the actual magazine.

I hope to see more references to the mag, like a Monroe skit.

Well, if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that everyone has their own tastes. If you like MAD, by all means enjoy it to your hearts content.
I'm not gonna yell at you for liking something I don't, but it is just not my cuppatea, and I would promptly disregard any suggestions you made for TV, movies, music, etc. if I knew you IRL.
I will enjoy Adventure Time and Regular Show, and will check out the new Scooby Doo as the last anon suggested.
I hope it will not disappoint.

No.90732
Personally, I thought the MAD cartoon was alright. I didn't enjoy it as much as the Regular Show, but that's a tough act to follow. It's very watchable, in my opinion. Of course, I'm also a big fan of Robot Chicken and Saturday Night Live, so I can see how people who don't like that kind of "sketch" comedy and are looking for cartoon with an overarching story line would be turned off.

No.94556

That could be because Adventure Time provides them with consistent, stable entertainment. This show seems to have its ups and downs, and because it's broken into small segments, people will be more critical of one part and how it affects the whole rather than one joke for a 15 minute segment. For Mad, the joke IS the show due to its length. Same with Robot Chicken.
