HA! Getting better from the first to the second.
I was wondering when someone would make a thread for this.Favorite line: "Arrest them, even though I have no jurisdiction here!"
Heh looks like Velma has had problems in the past taking second to animals.
did the old thread die? I just want to reiterate, I can't believe I passed on this show for so long. Fuckin hilarious, and the backgrounds and cinematography are pretty great to boot, I honestly think it would benefit from being an hour long.God those colours during the gator attack scene in the hotel. unf
>>75976That would be interesting maybe just make a fark ton of hour long specials like they do in Japan.
>>75978I like that they didn't have Shaggy be totally oblivious to the fact that he was being unfair to Velma. Also that Daphne's parents don't go out at night.
>>75982 Even though Shaggy is the broest of bros trying to find some middle ground between friendship and Velma I still hate him for not taking up her obvious offer in the hotel. Velma’s a damn animal with her emotions, JUST DO IT ALREADY. This series is doing nothing but blue balling the best interpretation of both girls and I don't know if I can take this.
Fred's big book of traps
>>75993
>>75976>did the old thread die?The one for the pilot? Yeah, a pretty long time ago. The last discussion wasn't in that thread, it was in the reaction face one.
Is the second episode up anywhere?

GATOR MINES
>>76029The dad DID remind me of Chevy Chase.
>>76102Yeah, I wonder if the writers were thinking "Oh wait, alligators don't live in a climate anything like this... fuck it, HAVE THEM COME FROM MINES!"

Living in Sweden, I need to watch this online. Could anyone help me find some streams?Failing that, perhaps someone knows of a torrent that compiles the first batch of episodes? Single-episode torrents is a drag.

>>76146And a roller-ball mouse!
>>76135Thank you sincerely. I needed that cleared up.
>>76146The Wood Age was a good age.>>76133 I'm ready to play some Pung!
I just watched the new episode, and I'm wondering...Was that Chevy Chase in the beginning?
>>76150No problem.>>76147Trackball, actually.Which makes me a bit nostalgic for the last time I used one....which was really not too long ago, since my high school used then instead of mice.
>>76154Really? The last time I saw one of those was in an old golfing arcade game in a restaurant. Though I honestly kind of wish I had one of those on my laptop instead of a pad.
>>76159I don't. Analog pointing devices were a pain to clean. Also, rather slow.
>>76160You can up the sensitivity to make it faster...like my friend who always turns it way up so even the simplest movement requires intense concentration.
>>76160Yea I remember that someone had made a laser trackball mouse but it had problems with grooves getting into the ball
>>76163there were lots of grooves during the 70's
>>76271I blame it on the boogie
>>76273 Awwww Yeah.Anyways, this episode was pretty great. More of the Gang being exactly what I loved about the first episode and the absolute insanity of Gatorburg. I just lost it at "Gator Mines."
Fucking love this show and I was never a huge Scooby Doo fan to begin with. >>75966 HE JUST READS IT FOR THE ARTICLES GUYS, GOSH.
Absolutely amazing. My only gripe is that it's a plot point that imitation gator belts cause Daphne to immediately and painfully break out, but the very next scene we see her handling them as part of the trap, bare-handed, with no ill consequences. CONTINUITY OI
>>76470forearms are more sensitive than hands cop out but does make some sense
>>76482 Well she already explained the rash as it was some common ailment so maybe she took some kind of medicine that provided a temporary boosted immunity while getting rid of the infection? The show likely included the error just to draw out the nerd in everyone watching.

>>77024 I love the ascot scene. Fred's a people person; he finds common ground in even the biggest jerks and bonds with them.
>>77025Or he's actually gay like all those years of ascot wearing should have told us.
This series is the best thing to happen to the Scooby Doo franchise since... ever. Also, I eagerly await the inevitable TRAPS TRAPS EVERYWHERE macro.

>>77041That macro has been around for a while.
>>77024Aww, invalid.
Try this one.http://www.mediafire.com/?043t2t33avubwo4
>>77087 Oh yeah, the music was brilliant.I will say I didn't find it as funny as the other episodes, but it wasn't bad.I also have the feeling this was meant to be episode 2 instead of the Creeping Creatures.
>>77220 I didn't find it as funny either, but the chase scenes were good. The shark tank and the nose patch were funny.
I didn't get to see the latest episode.Y'know, I love how Velma and Shaggy are becoming a "thang" but I just don't like how Velma's character is turning out. She's got quite a tude and just isn't bookish. Could be just me though.
Did anyone notice the animation was kind of choppy at some points?Especially with how the vehicles did stuff that seems not only physically impossible but just don't make any visual sense? Most obviously a freaking 18 wheeler accelerating to at least 100 km/h in like half a second despite pulling out of park with a U-turn or when the Mystery Machine suddenly went from full speed forward to full speed reverse instantaneously?
>>77434...are you seriously questioning the physics of a world where Fred can set up a working Rube Goldberg trap that ends in a fucking SHARK TANK.
>>77437 The shark tank was already there, Fred was just using what materials he had. He really just built a crank and pulley system strong enough to lift a modified truck.
>>77459My point was that people who watch series that function through a palpable suspension of disbelief and then try to nitpick the physics are obtuse and annoying.
>>77129Real quick, can I please have someone toss me off the crazy wagon here?At 7:00 there's a thing where the truck hits them, please tell me if Velma is saying, "Somebody should tell the neckbeard driving that truck to dial it back."
>>77527yes
>>77527Yep that's what she says. We're getting to a stage where /co/mrades, or at the very least retired /b/tards, are making cartoons. Chowder said 'the cake was a lie' once, and Adventure Time is full of meme influences. >>77417I know what you mean. She seems like she had more of a personality disorder than just plain geeky reclusiveness to make her as weird as she is
>>77573 The monster museum pretty much shows how much of a hellion she is which may be why Shaggy is as skittish as he is to kiss her. She's more obsessive stalker then aggressive girl friend.
>>77574I think Shaggy is just so connected to and neurotic about Scooby that it's really hard for Velma to get Shaggy away from Scooby but still not be to worried about it that he can't enjoy his girlfriend. They haven't said but I get the feeling that this has only really happened once, which is why Velma is so frustrated and persistent
>>77437No, I'm saying it just doesn't look right. Not even with cartoon physics. It's like how in action movies, no one ever survives a point-blank explosion even though they might as well do it all the time considering how close people can get to one without getting hurt at all.I know a little catapult like that couldn't have possibly flipped an 18-wheeler and don't care, but do care when the movement of objects.seem flat out unnatural. It's more about what look like animations errors than just being unrealistic--there was also the part where the waitress put the fries on Daphne's table and the movement of her hand doesn't match the movement of the object she's suppose to be carrying, making it look like it floated onto the table.
>>77600hmmm it looks like they forgot a couple of frames
>>77610
>>77612
>>77613maybe they attempted to carry it through with the waitress model but it ended up looking too unnatural (which would explain Daph's expression or that could be explained with it being another waitress model that was later switched)
>>77616Maybe it was an Elvira model and it was latter nixed for being too..giggly
>>76102 The newest Team Fortress 2 stage.
>>77600Hey its hard to find a cartoon without animation errors especially if they actually draw shit instead of using static flash character models. Nothings perfect and honestly I wouldn't be that concerned with little things like that. Its just something you have to accept with cartoons. I mean did you ever watch the original Transformers? They would reuse animation of the transformations so much they would sometimes put it in backwards. One time Prime was a robot, the you saw him transform from a truck into a robot, then he was a truck. All things considered I'd say we're lucky with this one
"Let's go gang, there's nothing to trap here!"
Movie Series about Future Fred
So I wonder if Mister E is Fred's dad. He was just about the only guy to notice Daphne picked up the key. Also, for all that Fred is likely gay or trapsexual, the times when he tries to protect Daphne make me smile.
Holy crap, we're getting a crossover of this and Brave and the Bold before that show ends.

>>77610>>77612>>77613>>77616Are those supposed to be french fries? They look like those nasty long fingernails that the guy with the longest fingernails in the world has.
>>79092They're called Finger Fries. It's a horror themed restaurant.
>>77527> please tell me if Velma is saying, "Somebody should tell the neckbeard driving that truck to dial it back.">>77573>Yep that's what she says. No, it isn't. Neckbeard makes no sense whatsoever in the context of the scene.
>>79109I think the actual line was something similar sounding like "redneck", but I don't remember it exactly.

>>79465
>>79466yea this whole bit was Fanservice
>>79342I noticed him (though I forgot his name), but not Pebbles or Bam Bam.I was laughing the whole episode at how completely insane everything the Mancrab did. I wasn't aware aquatic monsters which are 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide could sneak up on people inside of a house or on a car, leap 50 goddamn feet, and generally be some kind of invertebrate ninja.Yes, I know it was all because it was a robot.Except sneaking into the house still didn't make sense.
>>79469I think this series actually takes place in the near future, however, the big fashion trend is retro, so it only seems like it is in the past.So it justifies the way the technology of the show sometimes clashes with the apparent disco-era of the series.
Is it just me or is Velma's design getting a bit stockier?Going back to the basics, I guess?
>>79552Well, the "nerd hot" thing would just make her another Daphne. It's important for her character to be designed as a plain jane.
>>79530CYBER FUNK.
>>79555 Meh gotta be careful with that make her too plain and then she just becomes a bitch instead of an attractive girl that is still just a little insecure about things (she hasn't told anyone about her relationship either)
>>79555But the "hot nerd" thing has always been Velma's.
>>79568I'm not sure if that kind of thing existed when Scooby-Doo was made. I'm pretty sure Velma was just supposed to be the smart one. That said, I wish she got to be in a swimsuit this episode like Daphne did. Maybe a one piece?
So I didn't notice this until I saw it in HD, but hey! Looks like we've got the Scooby gang of Earth-2. Mysteriously missing their Velma pastiche. Sus~pi~cious~And we know Earth-2 Fred and Earth-2 Daphne were involved.Theory 1: Angel Dynamite was the Velma, thus her discomfort at seeing the photograph.Theory 2: The Earth-2 Scoobies were the current Scooby gang's parents, with Fred's dad (or Daphne's dad), Daphne's mom (or Fred's unseen mom), Shaggy's dad and missing person. There really isn't a clear enough picture to tell (anyone able to get their hands on an HD screenshot) but there's a bit of a resemblance. Kinda reaching, though, and hard to tell when everyone has such a simplified face.Theory 3: Earth-2 Velma is current day Mister E....I'm putting way too much thought into this I THINK IT'S INTERESTING SHUT UP DON'T JUDGE ME
>>79575HA! Their pet is wearing the Ascot
>>79575Theory 1 is the most plausible since we actually met their parents.Mister E could be Earth-2 Shaggy.
>>79617more plausibly, the parrot.
>>79574 I won't lie, I was dissapointed as well.
>>79575Mr. E could be the man with the large nose, with the other man being Fred's dad(he has that same line on his face) The girl could be Daphne's mom with the missing person being Angel.
>>79622Best theory.
>>79575The radio woman was their Velma pastiche.
>>79676I wanna see that! Wonder what she wore?
>>79676That's theory 1.
Well... he was a friend of scooby's.
>>79688Oh, so it was. Well then! It does seem a bit obvious.
>>79732They DID have a crossover once.

>>81966She looks like one of my friends.>>81969Dad Fred is one of the most amusing things ever. He'd be teaching his children how to build traps, but they would have no interest in it.
We need a dogscape/mystery inc. crossover.
>>75978Gary Cole don't fucking unrecline, y'all.
>>79407Is it just me, or does Skipper Peterman there look like a Bugbear?
>>76029Well... the Mom WAS apparently Beverly D'Angelo.
So, wait. Velma doesn't want Shaggy to eat junk food, doesn't want him to say "like", doesn't want him to be so close with Scooby...If she keeps on taking things like that there won't be anything left.
>>83065Some girls like a fixer-upper.
>>83097More like they enjoy experiments and projects. Oh sure, it starts with the personal hygiene, but then BAM suddenly she's Franken Fran.
>>83065we all know this joke.>tell me you love me sometimes!>take a bath!>get a job!>you're not the man I married!
>>83065 Hopefully shaggy won't meet any other girls in this show or his life will become the song Take it Easy.
>>83119But Fran is love.
hearing brock samson go on a rant at the end in the gaitor suit did it for me.
So I decided to give this a shot (because why not). >First 5 secondsWHY CAN'T I ESCAPE YOU PATRICK WARBURTON?
I like how they are handling VelmaxShaggy within the short timeframe of the episodes. The relationship is not going smoothly, nor is it a misanthropic fantease with each character always acting the same way and being unhappy.Shaggy standing up for his choice of pants and initiating dancing with Velma at the same time is a fine-tuned moment I did not expect.Mystery Inc. is not golden, but it is much better than I expected and a weekly offering of humor and a sort of... Bonhomie? The previous shows always annoyed me and felt completely made from a mold.
>>83198indeed
>>83198 Velma need to learn how to ease shaggy into going with this relationship, she's too forceful and he's too lax to commit to the level she wants him to be at all the time.

Okay I'm officially annoyed by the "romance." It was a fair experiment but it's just irritating as it is.There is no apparent desirable factor that would cause Velma and Daphne to even by interested in Shaggy and Freddy in the first place. Velma keeps trying to change basically everything that makes Shaggy who he is in the first place (who he is being a cowardly bum who spends his days and night in feasts of unrestrained gluttony with his dog). Freddy meanwhile is an idiot that pretty much ignores Daphne about 90% of the time, passing her up for monuments to Rube Goldberg.Maybe I shouldn't nitpick Scooby Doo, but damn it this is the internet and it's getting on my nerves, so I will whine if I feel like it!
>>83604Having the main 4 be romantically involved in the first place is unimaginative and a cheap ploy to attract a young girl demographic.
>>83604>Get cable>See a Scooby Doo promo. >"Jinkies! Get a load of this!">Bikini DaphneDo you think they know they got some older viewers too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ9ohQk20hA
>>83659Well I've no inherent OBJECTION to the romance, but they need to make it actually MAKE SENSE before I'll be on board (not that it matters what I think).Well it's only 5 episodes in, so it can easily improve.
>>83604I remember Daphne having the hots for Fred in a few other iterations too, though.
>>83667And Fred has gotten steadily more clueless in each iteration, too.I could see why Daphne likes Fred. He's a bit of a dope, yeah, but also a genuinely good guy. Also, apparently the attraction to dopes runs in the family if her mom's line in the newest episode is any indication.I like all the romance and such, because it gives the show something the Scooby Doo series never really had: character interaction. They were characters before, but they only ever really interacted with the plot, not each other. My only problem with it is that it leaves much less room for the plot to happen, so everything seems rushed. Like MuM said, I think it would really be given the chance to shine if they had hour-long episodes. Enough room for everything.
>>8371430 minutes is more than enough time to work in plot and character interaction. I suspect we just need to wait until the second season for the crew to really get a handle on what they're doing and turn it from "surprisingly good" to "OMGFUCKINGREAT."
Fred's a great but clueless guy, he's attractive as well, plus they've been friends for years, it's easy to get attracted to someone you can so easily spend so much time with.Shaggy has always had this weird girl charm about him, like, he's a giant lady killer, it's no real factor other than charisma, girls just like a funny guy, but they can wear out a welcome fast, her trying to change Shag I see as something that could be could for him, could you imagine if SHAGGY of all characters DEVELOPED? No really, think about that.
And on the guy's side D is always helpful and supportive of Fred, that combined with the long friend leaves her seen as buddy status to Fred with a real connection that even Fred doesn't understand, D's managed to get Fred to come out of his trap haze even once and that was enough to get Fred unnerved about his feelings. Even if only shortly.Velma a little grumpy, but patient with Shaggy even if somewhat forceful it's clear she wants to help Shaggy improve himself and he's trying to let her, interestingly enough I get the feeling he's a little scared of Velma taking things too far too fast, which is something a slacker would be afraid of.So yeah, I like the romances where they are going.
>>83748 What Shaggy only has to improve in the relationship?
>>83758He's shown Velma twice that he knows what he's doing and I think she is slowly coming around. Also Scoob knows what's up already
>>83758I never said that, but you are right I didn't point it out, she needs to learn to be less controlling.>>83760Yes, this.
>>83762 >>83760 Before either of them can get anywhere Velma’s got to get rid of this prideful notion that only she can fix the relationship like we saw with the pants thing. The moment Shag offered any little resistance to the idea she immediately cuts him out of the conversation and picks it out for him. It’s a good character flaw to give to her character though. She’s the brains of the group so “she must know best”.
>>83748when you put it this way, I don't have much of a problem with the romance.
New episode is uphttp://www.mediafire.com/?cqvoe6f4pcf7aubVincent Van GhoulFemshep is Daphne's sisterOngoing story gets advanced further
Cameos Coil Man and Multi Man of the impossibles.
so they're finally out of high school.
>>84249Not necessarily. It was probably their Junior prom, given how much Fred made of Mirian being a Senior.
...Gwen Stacy?
>>84258
Also, "Man Posse"?
>>84258>>84260It's so CLEARLY Gwen Stacy. This must have been what would have happened with her if she hadn't gotten pregnant and instead just kept fucking Norman Osborn until she was his mind slave.
>>84268if this ends up with some kinda Spider-Man./Scooby/Batman crossover..I'm done because nothing will ever be able to top that moment in television ever again.
>>84271They just like cameos, man.
>>84274But we are getting a Scooby/Batman crossover, one can wish for a trifecta.
Okay, I'm guessing a lot of these monsters attacking Crystal Cove have to do with this deeper mystery. Mr. E is backing a lot, if not all, of them. The cut out kid is even more probably the DJ. This is actually getting interesting...
>>84286Yeah, Angel Dynamite confirmed for Earth-2 Velma.Damn, Shaggy has a nice house. And his parents dress fancily, too. I wonder which family is richer, Daphne's or Shaggy's.
This show really must be made by either /co/mrades or people who would be /co/mrades if they knew /co/ existed.
>>84296Since this generation is getting older, I think more and more internet savvy people will be finding themselves working in the media. Vampires Suck has jokes on fangirls from what I saw in the trailer. It won't be long until one of the qualities in the "dorky girl" stock char will be "writes yaoi fanfiction."
>>84296Well look at the people that make Adventure Time, yea I think 4chan and by extension /co/ has become..near mainstream.
>>84219 Yeah, I dug the Vincent Van Ghoul refs. And I KNEW I recognized that voice (Daisy?) but fuck if I was able to place it.>>84258 Yeah, every time I saw her I just kept looking over at Daph as MJ. Shit was kinda trippy. And now I would be totally fine with an Adam West/Batman appearance. Hell, I want it to happen.
This episode was just great and the next one looks terrific. After last weeks episode I was starting to lose some of the hope that this series would stay as awesome as it started out as. And I love how they cemented the conituity by flashing back to the Creeper being captured. The only weird thing about that was Alice looking like a 7 year old while the gang still looked the same. But that whole story was bullshit so there's no need to think further on that. >>84255>>84249In the original series Shaggy was 17 Fred and Daphne were 16 and Velma was 15. So I like to think Velma got to skip a grade while Shaggy got held back and they're all juniors. Then again I'm possibly putting way more thought into this than anyone who ever worked on any of the shows has.>>84318That would be awesome but from what I've heard its going to be the Brave and the Bold Batman. I could easily see them getting Adam to do a guest voice though
God, I hope they show us Daphne's other sisters. Goldmine of hilarity.
but Adam West batman was never set in the 70's.

>>84331I stand corrected

I think this episode has done the most out of all of them to examine just how dysfunctional these people are, and I love it. Shaggy's struggling to overcome his innate loserdom, Velma's downright neurotic at times, Daphne's chasing after an impossible goal, and Fred's... well, Fred.Actually, I think I figured out who Freddy reminds me of: Carrot Ironfoundersson (at least as he was in the earlier Watch books). He's perpetually cheerful and friendly towards total strangers, he takes an interest in uninteresting things, he's apparently clueless to the subtler aspects of interpersonal relationships, and he finds genuine enjoyment in jobs that other people would consider tedious and/or overly complicated. The even have the same idealized masculine build. Just replace "policing" with "solving mysteries and setting traps," and you're done.
>>84510Well, that explains why I'm so taken with him. Carrot's one of my favorites. One of the things I like best about Mystery Inc.'s interpretation of Fred are the little touches they put in to show how he tries to protect the gang - putting himself between the girls and the monster du jour, scooping up Daphne to save her from gators, and the like. It makes me happy in a "awww, look how much he cares!" sort of way.
>>84515Yes! I would like more of that. Only with everyone. I think we've been so busy zooming in on those two specific instances of the boy-girl dynamic that we haven't gotten a chance to understand why they all bother hanging out with each other. Less strongly related pairs like, say, Fred and Velma (or Scooby and anyone-but-Shaggy) seem like they just kind of tolerate each other. Not a lot of team spirit going on.
>>84523I get the impression that they're a bunch of weirdos united by a common cause. Fred just wants to make traps and solve mysteries, Daphne wants to hang out with Fred, Velma wants to stick it to her parents by disproving the town's various hauntings, and Shaggy/Scooby probably joined just because they like old monster movies. Or if Shaggy's really the oldest of them like >>84321 theorized, maybe he was drafted into service back when he was the only one with a driver's license. But yeah, I'd like to see more bonding.
>>84510> Just replace "policing" with "solving mysteries and setting traps," Wait, these are different things?
>>84418>>84369I laughed when Daphene realized her sister was calling her a beach.
>>84549Hell I viewed that whole story as about her being in an orgy. "I've been fears bunkmate before"
>>84527The part about their ages wasn't speculation. I got it from scoobypedia which sites random evidence from the original series and some books written in the 90s. I could have sworn it said Shaggy was the oldest when I looked at it a week or two ago but now it's saying he was also 16 while Fred was 17 which would explain why he's always driving, being the first to have a license. It also says that Daphne is the actual owner of the Mystery Machine which goes with the fact that she was always portrayed as coming from a very wealthy family. In other news, we've yet to see mention of Scooby Snacks or Velma loosing her glasses. I mean it'snot like we're missing alot and honestly the latter was kind of annoying-I CAN'T SEE WITHOUT MY GLASSES- but I'd like to see them at least once for fanboy's sake.
>>84608If they mention how thick her lenses must be if she's legally blind without them, I will personally shake all of their hands. The entire staff. Just, all of them.
>>84608I think we saw a box of them a couple of episodes back but they were used for something other than getting Scooby to actually do something.>>84610I can see that poping up at some point maybe when someone tries to give her a makeover or something.
>>84610 One time Velma will push shag too far and he'll take her glasses just to not have to be chased by a monster for once. Entire episode of her being blind in a creepy house trying to find shaggy.
>>84610Don't they have ways of thinning lenses now, though?
>>84618to a point. My Mothers blind as a bat and has to wear the indexed super composite lenses or else they would be the super coke bottle type lenses of old. and Laser is out of the question since its not approved to go as deep as they would on her to make any note of improvement. So yea Velma might already be wearing the thinnest lenses possible but still be pretty thick.
Posting these for future reference if needed.
If he turns out to be Mister E I will be so happy.
>>84651I know that pose!
>>84651>>84653These guys Scooby & gang's rivals?
>>84658No. THey're the kids that disappeared years ago.
>>84651I still say Angel Dynamite/Cassidy Williams feels like a Captain Caveman reference.
>>84654I could see that being a very high possibility >>84672show is rife for a CAPTAIN CAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!! Introduction
I just realized that this hasn't been posted here yet and I just had to rectify that.
Y'know I realized the week point of this series is actually scooby
>>84653>>84651IDK if this means anything or not but they're all visibly wearing that pendant except Cassidy.>>84891Welker's Scooby doesn't even compare to Messic's but I have noticed that Scooby himself seems to have more intelligent dialogue than he has in the past.
>>84885I was posted in the thread for the pilot. Still funny, though.
>>84891Well, he doesn't really have anyone to play off of.
>>84904I see what you're getting at.But do we really want/need Scooby Dum and Scooby Dee in this series?
Am I crazy, or does it seem that the next episode is going to have the fucking Hex Girls?
>>84932 We have cameos from all of the other 70s hanna-barbera cartoons, many of them had Scooby-like mascots, why not have them, if only for a few episodes?Dynomut would be a nice addition.
>>84258I am so glad I wasn't alone on that. My wife looked at me like I was crazy when I said "Holy shit, is that Gwen Stacy?"
>>84959No, we actually knew they (and VanGhoul) were coming since Comic-Con.I probably should have mentioned this earlier.
>>84959It is them. However, Jane Wiedling is no longer voicing one of them.
Preview Time
>>85309Velma looking a bit heavy in the chest again. Loving me some enthusiastic Velma.
>>85309Daphne is so moe~Also, how long until someone makes a gif of Velma thrusting against Fred?
>>85339Tired of Shaggy already? So fickle!
>>85309"Wait, bait?"Ah yes, it was inevitable.
>>85339As long as I've been waiting for one of Velma scooting around on the couch.
>>85406"Daphne, Bait has been part of traps for thousands of years. I want my traps to be the best, and I can't possibly think of better bait than you. Who wouldn't want you... in their traps."
>>84932Fuck you, Scooby Dum was fantastic.
>>85498Well yeah, that's why I brought up him instead of the loathsome Scrappy Doo.But does the show need TWO talking dogs at this point? Especially one dumber than Scooby?
>>85527At most, I'd have Scooby's relatives guest star in one episode. Mainly to see how the current show would treat them. If they did the main gang so well, the other chars could have fun.
>>84961Johnny bravo could easily blend in to the 70's.I can only dream.
Angel has to be Cassidy. Cassidy was in the torn area of the newspaper clipping.
>>85658A Johny Bravo crossover would be hillarious, and only fair considering they gave him one back in the day.
>>84364"Why didn't you save me, Peter? Why did you kill me?"
>>85437I keep on saying Fred and Daphne's foreplay is gonna be Daphne trying to avoid Fred's many traps hidden throught his house. His many sexy traps...>>85414If someone doesn't end up making that I'll have to spend several hours figuring out how to do it myself. >>85684Either that or her mother. Also I'm pretty sure Fred's counterpart Brad has some relation to Fred's dad
I'm hoping the mystery of the vanished kids doesn't turn out to be something dumb like "They just grew up and moved away"
This took me way too long to make. Also, I had to cut three frames out near the end, because she very suddenly gets a shit ton puffier.EDIT: Small tweak. Cropped 2 frames out of the end that caused a slight pause.
>>85787Unless its the Parrot. Poor little guy just doesn't understand.
>>85787 I'm thinking the town itself has the biggest reason to get rid of them. Like our gang they did nothing but ruin tourist revenue. But I’m not sure which girl’s more of a potential maniac in this show, Velma may have threw a childish tantrum in the graveyard and be manipulative as hell but Daphne can be down obsessive against anything that breaks her little dream world relationship with Fred.
>>85997A bit slow, but otherwise pretty good. Thanks, man.
Okay, I've finally watched the first three episodes, and I'm questioning Fred's sexuality. In episode two, he's super excited about graduating high school and getting an apartment with Shaggy, to the point he's asking Shaggy if he likes bunk beds and what kind of bed sheets he likes. In episode three he encourages Daphne to go on a date to the creepy themed restaurant, trades ascots with Daphne's date after finding out they wear the same size, and he's setting off my gaydar like whoa. Oh, and Mister E sounds like he's voiced by Louis Black, which makes me giggle. Also, Patrick Warburton voices the sheriff, which is awesome.
>>86249He *is* voiced by Louis Black
>>86249I'm pretty sure that he was talking about all of them, including the girls, moving in together. Freddy basically wants to do what he's doing now for the rest of his life, and probably hasn't even considered the possibility that his friends might want to move on to other things. I agree about the rest, though. Poor Daphne.
>>86251No, I'm pretty sure he isn't voiced by the co-founder of The Austin Chronicle.
>>86249I don't think it's gay as much as lack of sexuality. From what I can tell he's petrified of change. Hence wanting everyone to move in together and making every attempt to keep Daphne at a platonic distance. Also, IIRC he already has a bunk bed in his room. Which raises the question of why he needs it. He's an only child, isn't he?
>>86303>Which raises the question of why he needs itBooby trap for the Boogieman, obviously.
>>86303He had an older sibling at one time but then they just..vanished like Charles Cunningham
>>86303a brother that died in the same crash that took his mother.he is obviously still stuck in child mode due to severe childhood trauma.
>>86305If they did that in an episode I would laugh so fucking hard.
Anyone catch the new episode?
Fresh from /co/http://www.mediafire.com/?owdvp6lhe7hoo5dcan't wait for the HD version
>Daphnes songOh god Im having Bloodlines flashbacks.
Look at her go!
I keep getting astounded by how good this show is. I love the new Hex Girls designs, and getting to hear Grey DeLisle sing is always awesome.>>86443Me too. DAT VOICE
>>86460Velma headbanging...indeed
That cape... so fabulous...
Also, I really like Thorn's design. Dat nose!
Damn Velma just kept getting shafted in this episode.I bet she turns out to be the culprit in a future episode.
>>86470Specially 'cause she even gets shafted by her mom loving horses more than her. That's a complex in the making.
Oh man they actually did the whole doorswitch chase thing!Good times.
>>86460 >>86464Seeing fangirl Velma rocking-out was amazing.>>86470I had a similar thought after that last shot in the episode as the camera panned to her.
>>86470I dunno about full on villain, but she might let a villain go, or worse "frame" shaggy or scooby.
>>86477 Humans tend to sympathize with pets more than people. Velma might try to change this by eliminating all the domestic animals in Crystal Cove.
Kinda wish that puppet would have gone all Megatron
Okay, fuck it, I gotta see this.
Damn it, they need a round of applause for the writing and character development in this episode. Scooby being shocked at Shaggy "caring more about girls" Fred being terrified of emotion, brilliant.
>>86525
>>86525Speaking of that, what has Fred's dad been teaching Fred, seriously.Kid's fucked up.
Hearing Scooby speak in full spiteful sentences is kinda weird. A little unnerving.
That has to be the most demented parody of the Scooby Doo doors, ever. The guy just went "OK, screw this shit. Kill them with fire!"
Freeeedy, Yer a Speeecial boy.
>>86585Awwww Scooby cares about all of them. I'm thinking Scooby was more hurt that Shaggy hid the relationship then about the relationship itself. Seeing how shit serious Scoob can get I think he's gonna have a "come to Jesus" moment with Velma.
I really like how Welker is bringing his own Scooby to the table instead of trying (and failing) to imitate Messick. With Welker, we have a more talkitive(and thus funnier) Scooby than Messick could muster back in the 60s and 70s.
>>86622this Scoob has some depth and anger
No seriously why fucking VLC?
>>86628 Well, he is voiced by Megatron.
>>86636Snapshot function is right on top and can be used on the fly during play. Least that is my reason using VLC >>86637Wonder what Fred and Scooby will dress up as for Halloween?
>>86628Rou railed me ror ra rast rime, rarscream
>>86646Fred digs through a costume box and puts on a Dr.Claw glove for a minute. Maybe he'll dress up as a Blue "Trapbot". This show drops the nostalgia so hard I cannot see them not putting Welker in at least one of his old "uniforms". Peter Cullen drops by as a Superhero named Convoy (the now retired name for Optimus in Japan,)
>>86646 Someone please ask him to do this if you see Frank in a con or something. I need to hear him do this.
>>86484And she would have gotten away with it too..!
>>86646I would pay to hear this (or something like it) in Mystery Inc.
>>86636What's wrong with VLC?
>>86886Scooby sees some Transformers in someones Nerd Cave. He goes over and gives a chuckle and wink to the "camera" and then starts playing. Oh! Bonus if the Nerd Cave is owned by some local Superstar or Executive voiced by Peter Cullen and he joins in. Be riot if it went on for an entire scene in the background whole pseudo Megs and Optimus fighting while the rest discussed the mystery. I see it in my mind and it is glorious.
no ones going to mention at one point Daphne thought of cutting the breaks to Fred van?
>>87016 I think some of us have already gone over how the girls are a few steps away from insanity in some episodes. Still I’m surprised Daphne can get physical like that, I thought physical force was more of Velma’s tactics.
>>87016She's a trainwreck, when she overheard Fred she went over the edge, she might look ok for now, but she's not. What has been done can't be undone.
>>87036oddly, the only sane person seems to be Shaggy.
>>87066indeed, underlying resentment to her parents and her sisters about their lives has put her personality into flux. Course the same can be said with Fred since what he wants mentally is conflicting with what he wants emotionally. Velma wants a caring center that she lacks at home so she has hitched onto Shaggy who I think as pointed out >>87067 is the only stable person in this whole bunch.
With each episode, I'm starting to dislike both Daphne and Velma more and more. This makes me sad.BUT I love FredWhich...has never happened before.
>>87167>With each episode, I'm starting to dislike both Daphne and Velma more and more.Any particular reason?
>>87184Dunno about Daphne, but Velma has become increasingly bitchy. It kind of feels like she's trying to push Scooby out of Shaggy's life, and this last episode, Velma seemed upset abotu Shaggy making up with his buddy.
>>87190If >>75974 is an indication, she seems to have a history of getting pushed aside by animals, so I can see why she might be acting this way. Though she'll have to learn it's not a competition for affection/attention and learn to share.
>>87201Right she'll probably end up going off on Shaggy with something like "You don't seem to care about me as much as those stupid horses!" And she'll come to the realization as to what her real problem is with Scooby.
>>87240 That depends on if the horse is still alive at this point and if Velma’s final confrontation with Scooby and her mother will be more peaceful then hanging the animal over a glue machine or meat grinder.
Didn't the old shows have Velma and Scooby being almost as close and friendly as Shaggy and Scooby were? They're probably going to have a makeing-up scene eventually and realize that they're tearing Shaggy apart. In the meantime I for one welcome our new character development overlords.
You know what? This thread could use a bit more Crush.
>>87625
>>87313God, I really hope so. I'm so sad with how Velma's character is turning out. Remember the good old days when Velma would lose her glasses and Scooby would find them for her? WHERE'S MY FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE. IT'S JUST ALL HORMONES NOW.
I'm just glad they have some measure of personality.
>>87661> I'm so sad with how Velma's character is turning out.Frankly, I'm kind of disappointed with how little they've made an effort to show her as 'the smart one' so far.
>>87682Well she's no longer the sole brains of the group. Fred is now a mechanical engineering savant and Daphne has a pretty good head for investigating.
>>87714And that's okay. Fred was usually the trap guy anyway ("I have a plan, gang")But because Velma has kind of lost the smart gig, she's down to pretty much "Shaggy's insane girlfriend".
>>87779 Most of her role as being the smart one in the old series was to be the unveiler and start off the hivemind explanation they all gave on how the dude in the mask tried to get away with their scam. In Mystery Inc she’s already been shown looking into archives doing actual information digging which was more legwork then most of them have ever done. She can be smart and also be preoccupied with her Shaggy problem.
>>87661I'd love to see that, a return to the roots kind of moment. And while the highly enjoy the show I think Scooby has been given too little development and focus in it, though development is somewhat of a side issue since they haven't aired a whole lot of episodes.
>>87794I'd love to see her role as the brainy one tie into her relationship with Shaggy. Like, she finally gets a scene where she works out some convoluted twist in the villain's scheme and Shaggy's response is "God you're so hot right now".
>>87313I am hoping for this so hard. One of the main things I loved about the old cartoons was Velma and Scooby being friends and helping each other out. Please, character development overlords, please give us back the Velma-Scooby friendship!!
>>87815>Scooby has been given too little development HE'S A DOG
>>87874A dog that can talk, and that is a master of unlocking.
Little known fact, Scooby's tail and 60's Spider-Man's webs are made of Plotanium, one of the rarest story minerals like Unobtainium.
Tomorrow can't get here fast enough; I want to see a new episode!!I'm digging the character development between characters. I am also digging the fact that Shaggy is not a complete idiot and appears to be the most sane/normal of the gang. What I want to know is, how do they explain how Scooby can talk, have lots of people understand him, and then not have him be an attraction on the Crystal Cove tour as a dog possessed by a ghost. He's a talking dog, and nobody acts like it's a big deal. It's not like his collar allows him to talk (picture related), so why are none of the adults who are obsessed with the weirdness of the town focusing on him?
>>87934 The town's tourism trade comes from Ghosts. If this was any where else other then Crystal cove then maybe they would care, but the only thing the Mayor wants is a ghost that sticks.
>>87934maybe they'll just lampshade it as Shaggy being so rich that he can afford one.
Okay, I have a question, now that I've watched all the episodes that are out so far:What the fuck is wrong with Fred? He thinks he's not a man because he has feelings?! What kind of horrific mindfuck happened to Fred to believe this? I know his dad is kind of useless as a parental figure because he acts like a massive self-centered douchenozzle, but do you think he's responsible for how fucked up Fred is mentally?I think it's kind of cool how Fred is an engineering savant, "Traps Illustrated" notwithstanding. And earlier in this thread, "cyber-funk" totally had me loling.
>>88077He's mentally stuck in highschool age. He thinks that is going to be his life forever living with, hunting things and building traps with his buddies. part of that I think comes from pressures from his father at an early age to carry on the political family line and so Fred has mentally gone into Lockdown on accepting that things will change when they graduate. And things that breech that barrier like friends and possible loved ones getting into danger really causes a conflict between the head and the heart.
Well Freds father is a man that shows little emotion and affection to people so far, young Fred saw his father as the image of what a man is and suppressed this kind of feelings with varying success.Traps may or may not have been a way to take out those feelings on inanimate object instead of humans as well as an interest in engineeringShaggy is rather interesting as he has a lot of drama going on around him but he doesn't seem all too emotional about it like Fred is, possibly due to the lack of childhood problems. But hey, speculations are speculations.
>>87934Only answer I can think to give is this: explaining how Scooby can talk would just take away the magic of the mystery. It's just one of those things that just should not be explained. Or do you want to find out that Scooby has too many mitochloria in his blood and that gives him the ability to talk?
Scooby Doo is secretly Mr. E.
>>88124I think Mr E is one of the original founders of mystery inc, probably their very own pothead, he just got so stoned for a very long time and doesn't remember shit so he has Fred and company find out what happened to them.Jokes aside, my personal guesstimation is that he was one of them.
So if Shaggy and Daphne are both rich which one is old money and which one is new money?
>>87934Well, if you recall Scooby isn't the only talking dog in this universe, since most of Scoob's family and friends talked as well.
>>88137That's true for all the other incarnations of SD. Mystery Inc., however, hasn't had any Scooby relatives visit yet, and we don't even know if they'll make an appearance. If part of the cyber-funk is that dogs can be made with voiceboxes capable of human speech, then fine, whatever. I'd just like an explanation for how Scooby talks, and since there is character development happening with this series, I'm hoping to get it.
>>88132From the way their parents act, I'm going to guess that Shaggy's family is old money and Daphne's is new money. Daphne's parents seem like very outgoing people (and her sisters are all very obviously type-A personalities who have done really well for themselves too, probably taking after mom and dad). Shaggy's parents seem a little snooty and come on, "still life night"? I'm saying they're old money all the way.
>>88140 I don't know. Daph's family also seems to be concerned with Dynasty and continuing the family into all walks of life like Old Money. Her parents also weren’t interested in dead end Fred. We don't know much about Shag's family other than being very low key and surprisingly talented.
Tonight, Velma's true goal is revealed.
I swear to God I'm gonna punch Fred and Scooby.Fred is just deathly afraid of change and Scooby doesn't know how to share. Also the fact that this had happened before make me wonder how bad their breakup was, and if things will end the same way for the new gang
>>88206 Of course Scooby doesn't know how to share, in almost every show he steals more food from shaggy then the other way around. It's almost makes me think Shaggy's just a sucker for an abusive relationship.
>>88209Never thought I'd want to see Scooby put in a corner but..damn if he doesn't deserve it.
Haha, Daphne's princess hat.
>>88206Luckily, this show has character development. So its ok that Velma and Fred have flaws because it'll be that much more rewarding once Fred comes to terms with his feelings for Daphne, while Velma and Scooby learn to share Shaggie. I'm pretty at the climax of this show, or near it, Velma and Scooby are going to have to join forces, they'll have a big bro moment, and all of /co/ will be all FUCK YEAR!
Theeeere we go. The theater scene nicely encapsulated Velma's insecurity and Fred's mortal fear of change.God, these kids are kinda screwed up.
>>88247>God, these kids are kinda screwed upIT'S THE CURSE OF CRYSTAL COVE!!!!
I half lost it as "Hold on, this is gonna get awesome!"
>>88248Seeing as this episode has yet another joke about "if he doesn't love you back KILL HIM" I would be willing to accept that there is something in the water.
>>88250I like that Fred 'investigates' with a goddamn hole saw.>>78820 is fucking right as rain.
Is there a torrent or mediafire download somewhere for the newest ep? I needs it like burning, since I only have cable Internet and no hook up to my TV.
>>88272http://www.mediafire.com/?4lcy8auq72fxjmv
>>88274thanks
I knew the DJ was the missing kid
that bit where Scooby and Velma fight over the parrot was foreshadowing.
YAAARGH I'M A SECRET PIRATE...was far more unsettling than it should have been.
>>88313I've been thinking it for weeks, now I can point to this: Scooby is freakin' clingy as hell and Velma is in the right!Or at least they're equally tearing Shaggy apart.
>>88359
>>88360
>>88361
>>88362
>>88321Please. We all know how that scene would have been like if this show had a higher rating.
>>88286Mr E is the bird. Or for an even bigger mindfuck, Scrappy Doo.
>>88359>Or at least they're equally tearing Shaggy apart.I think that this is exactly what's happening. I also think Shaggy's the one most at fault here. The way I understand it...Velma started acting clingy and jealous because Shaggy wanted to keep their dating a secret, putting his friendship with Scooby before his relationship with her.Scooby started acting clingy and jealous because Shaggy snuck off with Velma after a promised boy's night, putting his relationship with Velma before his friendship with him.Neither one is in the wrong. Shaggy just needs to stop neglecting the feelings of one in favor of the other. Which he could do if he sat down and talked to them about it, reminded them that they're both important to him and he's got room in his stoner heart for both.As much as Fred missed the point in the theater scene (a five-way relationship? kinky.) I think he had a point of his own. They're a team, they're all important to each other, even if some of them have trouble showing it sometimes.
>>88373True, Shaggy needs to come out of his shell and finally take a stand for himself and put both of them in their place lest he not have either in the end.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Fred killed that girl....Also did it creepy anyone else out that he was almost looking for her?
>>88274Thanks so much!!Okay, so I watched the ep, and I gotta say that the boys in super oblivious mode while the girls are like "I love you but you drive me insane" commiseration (well, Daphne commiserates, but doesn't actually admit to liking Fred to Velma), it made for an interesting episode.Scooby was pretty entertaining this episode, and I totally lost it the first time he said "Scooby-Dooby-Yargh!". Scoob's got a great pirate voice already; to have him saying piratey things just sort of made my day.I just wish he and Velma would stop fighting. The one dynamic I loved about the old cartoons was they worked together all the time and looked out for each other. And I don't know if Fred really killed that girl in the theater to get the samples, but looking at the tool he used without seeing how it worked, I'm going to guess if she's not dead, she's going to have a very perplexing wound/scar when she wakes up.
Was it just me, or was the showdown with the gnome pretty awesome?
>>88393Not just you! Daphne revealing her gauntlets was cool; I like how practical and clever she can be. She doesn't let her displays of danger-proneness bring her down! Also, Fred using his ascot to rappel after the gnome. Yes. Hell yes.
http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/1008/31/index.htm >Scooby-Doo will appear in an episode of Cartoon Network's Batman: The Brave and the Bold titled "Bat-Mite Presents: Batman's Strangest Cases!," The Continuum has learned.>The episode will be similar to the "Legends of the Dark Knight" episode of Batman: The Animated Series in that three different incarnations of Batman will be featured.>Scooby will be featured in one of the three segments, along with a guest-star playing himself, as was often the case in the early Scooby cartoons.>The episode is written by Paul Dini and directed by Ben Jones. I'm so excited.
>>88424Yesssssss
>>88423Yes! He actually made wearing an ascot look pretty cool there!
>>88424>Scooby will be featured in one of the three segments, along with a guest-star playing himself, as was often the case in the early Scooby cartoons. >along with a guest-star playing himself, as was often the case in the early Scooby cartoons. Well, it can't be Don Knotts, because he's dead. And no one gives a shit about Harlem Globetrotters that aren't on Futurama anymore, so they're out too.Maybe Mark Hamill?
>>88428Or Adam West
>>88431Adam West playing Adam West is a road well travelled.Maybe Burt Ward or Casey Kasem?
http://www.mediafire.com/?4lcy8auq72fxjmv
>>88435 Casey's voice has gotten very rasley and over the years. You think he could pull off being an old chum?
My guess is that the Parrot of the old team somehow caused the break up of the old Mystery Inc, and they ended up breaking up on such bad terms that they got second identities and hide away thier past. Now Pericles is guilt ridden over what he did so now he is posing as Mr. E in order to prevent the same thing from happening to the new gang, and to find out what happened to his old friends.
>>88424Well, I was hoping for a longer crossover, but this sounds good too.Although it sort of sounds more like a general Scooby-Doo crossover than specifically with this series.
So. I was thinking about Skipper Shelton, considering if he could be another one of the kids from the original Mystery Inc. There must be a reason why he's become a recurring character, right? While I was looking for a screencap of him, though, I realized something far more horrifying.
Striped hair. Freckled cheeks. Cleft chin.Velma's mom is Brad Chiles with a sex change.
>>88763Probably not, but she might very well be his sister.
>>88763 >>88914I have a feeling that the siblings to the missing kids are all going to be recurring adults who lived in CC back then. It makes sense that Velma's mom would be Brad Chiles' sister, and I wish Velma and Daphne would show her the locket. In my own personal head-cannon, Angel Dynamite is the little sister of Cassidy Williams, since Angel seems to be slightly younger looking than the rest of the parents for the Scooby gang. Also, we have to remember who recognizes the locket whenever Daphne pulls it out and also the picture sent to them by Mister E. Mayor Jones definitely reacted to the locket, but not the Sheriff. Angel knows something from the picture, her reactions are too off not to know.I'm really digging the overarching mystery in this series and looking for clues!!
>>88941 Well at least people who had connections to them by the looks of it, I really should rewatch the episodes and look for these kinds of things. It's always annoying when you're the last one to find out about these things. And the sheriff truly a great man, I absolutely love him, he's comedy gold.
