are those two characters' noses as ridiculously pointy as seen from profile or is it just an artists quirk when drawing from that angle

The pointy noses are part of their designs.
But I think it's more a quirk from this new artist.

From the forums:

>Okay! So! Lemme start from the beginning, I suppose!

>The latest story arc was supposed to be a pretty significant one. Without spoiling anything, the end of it was supposed to start something for the comic. Not end the comic. Then, as you all saw, the comic stopped updating.

>I will say as much as I can while saying as little as I can as I have reasons for keeping these things to myself, but the last year has not been a pleasant one for me. Started with one thing in August, I believe, and my wonderful family has managed to keep up a chain of events that have made my life very stressful. The past few months in specific have brought 3 attempted suicides within my family. I'm not joking. I've almost become desensitized to it all. Things have recently died down and I'm also removing myself from this stressful environment in the coming months.

>Somewhere in that I posted here on the forums that I was ending the comic. The logic was I was not in a great place, I wasn't updating, and ultimately the comic was suffering because of it.

>Fast forward to the E3 comic. I was doing okay, Nami showed me a thread with a forum goer saying how sad it would be without an E3 comic this year, and shortly after Ryan C prompted me for a guest strip. I decided that we couldn't have a year without an E3 comic, and we worked on both of ours together, and for the first time in ages, I had a good time drawing a comic. Was fun! Thanks to Nami, Ryan, and random poster 1235357! More events spoiled that good mood, but hey! C'est la vi. We got some comics up! Yay!

>I was purposely vague about the update schedule. Haven't known when I'd be up to drawing it. Just that the updates were coming. The plan became, well, screw it. Let's get that original idea started up with the last arc! I've been planning to remove the last arc, rewrite it, and redraw it, and I will when I can, and update with random comics here and there (You should hopefully see one this week) until I get the arc fully fleshed out and ready to go up which should also be in the coming months. Hopefully September.

>So! The reasons behind it all, I think. If anyone has any more questions regarding the comic, I'll be happy to answer them.

>Oh, and I was thinking about posting more on the forums again. Why not toss that out there as well. What say you all?

I AM LITERALLY TREMBLING WITH EXCITEMENT.

I LOVE YOU FANBOYS.

I LOVE YOU MR. DEWITT.

I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

No.94618
>>94604
I *want* to be happy, but this also makes me want to go ahead and delete my bookmark.

His "comeback" set of strips ("Whatcha Watchin'?") features a self-torturing artist (strip 1) killing himself (2) and his family (3). The unfinished story arc was clearly leading up to his primary characters acting out a "Final Destination" scenario. Yeah, I think I can read between *those* lines. Sure, he says everything's getting awesomer now. We'll see. Maybe.

The vast majority of webcomicers, I've come to realize, are emotional eggshells who act like they're aluminum baseball bats. I deliberately trolled one who was using his newfound tiny fanbase as an excuse to scream U R ALL DUMFUX IM BIGAR TAN JEEZUS at the world, including his fellow artists. His responses alternated between LOL U MAD ROFL!!1 to playing the ol' race card to screaming rants against other critical posters he assumed to be me--before finally cooking up a SUPER COOL STALKER STORY BRO, complete with a fictional (and bizarrely homoerotic) threat (naturally "reported to my ISP and the authorities," who strangely had no idea what I was talking about when I inquired, honk honk).

Cherry on top: he strongly suggested he might commit suicide if I wasn't dealt with. (There's a SUPER COOL SUICIDE STORY BRO in the site's history, apparently.) I was peebo'd, but it was totally worth. And he hasn't been acting like such a complete and utter asshole lately, so maybe it all worked *exactly as planned.*)

The difference here is, I like "Fanboys," and I have no personal opinion of DeWitt beyond the strip itself. But I don't want to sit on this bus while he keeps asking, "Which would you do? Pills or razor blade? I'm not gonna do it, I'm just askin'."

No.94631
>>94618
The guy clearly says he was going through a rough time while declining to elaborate or dwell on it. A little black humor hardly makes him a prima donna.

No.94713
>>94618
Anon, that story you told makes you look worse than your intended target of ridicule.

No.94777
>>94713
I'm okay with that. But perhaps I wasn't crystal clear: all the talk of stalking, threats, suicide, and whatnot were 100% buzzword-loaded fiction from my opponent, used to justify my ban in light of his past insistence that he wants to hear everyone's opinions.

For my part, I pointed out (admittedly in the most button-pushing ways for which he presented opportunities, which were far too many to resist) that he was not the brilliant creative genius, Godlike figure, or center of universe he likes to fancy himself as. Nobody who spends THAT much time curled up under the table in the fetal position, crying, has any business cursing out the rest of the world on what's "punk rock" (as just one example).

Point being: emo eggshell mistaking himself for an aluminum bat.

Don't go around smashing eggs.

No.94805

But then how will he make his webcomic-artist omelette?

No.94921
Eggshell or not, everyone needs someone to slip through the sycophants and give them a tap on the snout once in a while, especially if they're getting too big for their booties. Otherwise it's like a high school diploma "earned" through social promotion, or deviantArt.

Penny Arcade provides some incredibly heartwarming RPG-related stories.

>My Monday D&D game was played at home this week since I just got my new Emissary table from Geek Chic. Gabe had to go to bed around 8:00 but begged me to let him stay up at watch us play. I’ve “played” D&D with him before but this was a real game with grownups and he could tell it was something different. I don’t blame him for wanting to stay up and watch but he had school in the morning and I knew the language was not going to be six year old appropriate. I explained that this was daddies game and maybe some day when he’s older he can play in it.

>Later that night Kara brought down a note that he had written. It was done in crayon on a little piece of sketch paper:

>WEN I AM 7 CAN I PLA DUNJNS AND DRAGINS

>Awesome.
