Old one's autosaging.Boxer Hockey fans will probably enjoy this. I personally could not stop laughing at the credits including "The Girl From Epanema" in them.
I lost it here
I would very much like to see this done with those Sonic comics.
>>60310 Likewise. Glad to see the guy making boxerhockey isn't utterly dead.
>0:35 - 0:55AND SUDDENLY HIS LIFE HAS MEANING
September!
>>60327my goodness! I have waited this for years.
>>60327
I'm finally reading Civil War; not because I want to, but because it's assigned reading for my Comic Books and Graphic Novels class. I've only read the first issue so far, but it already fits my preconception of nobody reacting to anything in a rational manner.
>>60489Of all the superhero stories you could study, your class chose that one?
Jason Aaron's beard, much like Jason Aaron, is underrated.
>Find old Dirty Pair trades
>>60524>Now I can't find my copy of "Fatal But Not Serious"
>>60504We had limited time and the instructor needed something to represent modern comics. Also, now I have the perfect explanation for why I don't like it: I value story over social allegory. Watchmen was heavy on the commentary, but it was a story first and foremost and it wasn't just taking something from the newspapers and slapping superheroes in it. Saying, "It's all about the Patriot Act," does not excuse plotholes and erratic character behavior.
>>60540Hey, exploring what makes stuff bad is just as important as what makes stuff good.
>>60547What bugs me is that at least half of the class seems to really like it. Well, half of the students who actually say anything in class.
>>60552Anyway, I just finished it. I was surprised that Cap's death wasn't included, since it was such a major repercussion of the whole thing. My analysis: superhero registration is a good idea, and it probably would have worked out if they had just sat down and worked out a system that everybody could agree with, but everyone was just so "my way or the highway" that it devolved into... well, civil war. Some things that stood out to me as particularly stupid:"Everyone agrees that superheroes are potential sources of danger, so let's do something that's guaranteed to get a whole bunch of them pissed off at us!""Alright Cap, you seem pretty willing to go along with all of this, so let's... wait, you have reservations about hunting down your friends? Will you be more enthusiastic if we all point our guns at you?""It's a shame that we couldn't shrink Goliath down. If only we had some kind of... I don't know, particles that made people shrink. But that's impossible!""Let's get insane, utterly reviled supervillains like Bullseye and Venom on our side. There's no way that it could backfire somehow or give our opponents the moral high ground!""The problem is that superhumans are too dangerous, so they need to be kept under control. And while we're at it, let's make a bunch of new, gimmicky superhumans out of random schmucks just so we can have a team of them in every state!"Really, that last part makes the pro-registration side look like such massive tools that it would have been enough to make me join the rebels on that principle alone.
I love rummage sales. Every Saturday & Sunday, the block where my job resides is lined with people who sell all types of crap. I've only bought from there twice, the second time being this past Sunday. I got to work early and was able to browse the various vendors and saw one guy selling comic books. Looking through, he had some good stuff but not a lot. I picked up the following:X-Men v1 #1 (Wolverine/Cyke cover)X-Men v1 #53 (Onslaught revealed)Daredevil v2 #57, #59-60 (King of Hell's Kitchen arc)Ultimates 2 Vol. 1 TPBSin City: That Yellow Bastard TPBAll for 12 buxA great start to what ended up being a crappy day.
AT LAST!I figured out the theme song to Tom Vs. The Flash.I really hope they use the song, or at least incorporate the main melody in the movie's score.
>>60742THANK YOU!
>Dear @geoffjohns0, please inform Ryan Reynolds that Green Lantern normally walks around a lot with no pants. Also, close-ups. Thank you.I <3 Gail simone
Civil War: a deep and meaningful social commentary.
>>60787Dat McNiven She-Hulk ass...
>>60787>Civil War: a deep and meaningful social commentary. That's a laughable statement, even without the needless (though hot) She-Hulk ass.
>>60793 Is she-hulk's ass ever really needless though?Really, it is its own reason for being there.
>Justice League: Crisis on Two EarthsOwlman, man.
And Zoidberg!
Anyone seen the latest Lucky Luke animated movie? It's a couple of years old, just caught it on TV. It was great.
http://marvel.com/news/all.12705.marvel_promotes_joe_quesada_to_ccoSo, he basically has the same job as before, but with all of Marvel's media departments.I really just wanted to post this picture of him.>>60820>Baron Zoidverg

>>60852Look at the producer list. Brave and the Bold, Avatar, Ben 10...this shit is either going to be amazing or a complete disaster. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

>>60852Next Avatar.Calling it now.
>>60868Sorry. But that's the Green Lantern Animated Series.
>>60847"Needs more dialogue"
Holy crap, I forgot Futurama was finally coming back this month until I saw a commercial for it. June 24th!
>>60892Hells yeah
A new branch of the comic store I go to is being opened in the next town over.I might go more often if it's not as hard to get to.
I remember seeing a thread at /writ/ about comic book binding but it got bumped off. Anyone remember what website got mentioned?
/co/, when were you planning to tell me about Red Tornado?
I remember, dimly, when I first signed up to post art and shit online about a group of animators trying to fund/animate their own movie about wolves. I remember thinking two things: Good luck honeys, and holy this just looks like a Balto ripoff. I think they actually finally managed to make the movie. The furries are going to love this.
>>61185Funny thing is, it looks like it really fecking sucks. If I'm ever going to put alot of work into something, you can count on it never being such a recycled idea with no artistic ambition.
>>61185Oh damn it's looks like Balto except without everything that made it charming and everything that ruined the latter Shrek movies. I'll at least watch it since I liked Richard Rich's other movies but I doubt I'll like it enough to go to the cinema.
>>61185It's like it's really......Huh, what year was Open Season made?
Ooh, WDC&S 707 has a mailbag section.Mentions Mickey Mouse and Friends which has been on hiatus for months now even though the next issue is supposed to be the big 300. Just what are they planning for that, I wonder? Also Darkwing Duck should be coming out this month, shouldn't it?
>>61185I do not need to watch a movie about wolf sex. That is the opposite of what I need.

ATOMIC ROBO IS BY BRIAN CLEVINGER? THAT BRIAN CLEVINGER?!?wow why did it take me so long to realize it was the same Clevinger as nuklear power. I am kinda impressed with my own spaciness.
>see a McKeever's Young Allies splash page ad in Franken-Castle>I can't fucking wait
Lol, Xavier just died. And I laughed way too hard at this panel, Kurt's grin makes it.
>>61366Yeah, and he's writing an all ages retelling of Infinity Gauntlet soon, too.

WE'LL GIVE IT A SHOT
I went to get my comics on Sunday and I could not find Superman/Batman Annual #4 ANYWHERE.

>Steve Epting on Fantastic Four starting 583>Doom's gonna be in the issue
>>61956...aw, I'm gonna miss Hickman's FF. But this should be good too, so I guess it's still awesome. So excite for Batman #700 tomorrow and JL: Generation Lost #3 (FUCK YEAH JAIME!)

Endpiece, are you there?
>>62039I know. It's depressing.
THEY'RE NOT "COMIC BOOKS," DAD. THEY'RE GRAPHIC NOVELS. THEY'RE DEEP AND THEY'RE MEANINGFUL!
>>62122I know you're posting that as satire or parody of the guys that really do say that. But I really prefer to call them comic books. I don't pretend they're some form of higher art, superior of those of the mainstream media or anything. In doing such, I feel like one of them /jp/ or /a/ weeaboos calling their porn Visual Novels or the sort. It is what it is.Comic books are a fun read, a good timekiller when the plots aren't too convoluted, and a share item. Not much more than that if you ask me.SURE, there are exceptions, but... eh.
Fuck yeahComing up! Next issueHoly shit
So I bought the DVD set of the SMB3 Cartoon.I remember checking the guides in the newspaper, seeing that this cartoon existed, and lamenting the fact that we didn't get YTV, and then when we did finally get the channel, they weren't airing it anymore.Good times.
>>62128Considering what passes for "fine art" today, I think comics should easily qualify as a higher (if commercialized) artform.
>>62158Finally, I get to post this again.
>>62158
>>62022Forbidden Planet had it and it looked like I grabbed the last copy. Also got this, the first Jubilee figure.
>Avengers Academy #1>my reactionFunny enough, this was also the best part of the issue. But seriously, I am pretty disappointed in this. I wish Dan Slott was on it and not Gage, his watered-down Initiative janitor.
That is one chill-ass Snake eyes. That Snake Eyes is mother fucking CASUAL. I love it.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DM8N0K6ES.H.I.E.L.D #2 is here!
Never change, Lawton.
>>62190Young Allies #1, on the other hand, was pretty cool.
>>62190>>62312I have to disagree. I like the characters, team dynamic, and teacher-student antagonism (nicely dialed up to 11 on the very last page) of "Academy #1," making up for the whole "New Mutants Redux" vibe. Also, Mettle is surprisingly cool (my introduction to the character)."Allies #1," on the other hand, reads like "Young Avengers" and "Exiles" were tossed in a blender (with just a hint of Hey We Haven't Had Yet Another Stamford In Eight Whole Minutes). Plus, Toro is both the Freedom Fighters Mistake (pointless modernization/bastardization of pre-existing characters) and the Hamfisted Social-Issue Character (Marvel's Official "Illegal Immigrant" Superhero for God's sake). Left me asking, "Hello? Don't we already HAVE Young Avengers? Where's THEIR regular series?" ...But we'll see how things shape up in coming issues. Either one of 'em's ten times better than "The Order."
Whoa!! What the hell?!?(Also, "Catch Phrase" has been taken down.)
Neato.
>>62443>Tan Eng HuatOh, that's what's wrong with it.

>>62752 how about the drive through movie and all the...bouncing cars....
>>62745 I could make a call about the fetish implication of what the little dog said and what that could mean about the people who work at the FCC...but that would ignore the fact that the silhouette of a woman was told to strip in a children's show and no one viewed it any differently than regular gross-out humor that was everywhere in the 90s.
EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF THE BOONDOCKS THIS SEASON HAS BEEN THE BEST EPISODE OF ANYTHING EVER. MY GOD.
Whoa, Robert Rodriguez is being considered for directing the Deadpool movie. PLus with the Zombieland guys writing...
Only bad thing about this issue was the minor but unsurprising Thunderbolts spoilers.
We have Sif
>>63045Wow, Sif has dark hair. Makes me wonder if whoever made up the Thor comic has even read anything about Norse mythology.
>>63051You don't really want an answer to that question do you?
>>63051They did. In the Marvel books it was explained that Loki took her hair and the black hair is a wig. Or at least it was before they were reborn after Ragnarok recently. But really, Marvel's Thor takes place in a techno paradise Asgard and hangs out with a Space Horse wearing his clothes. and you complain about the colour of a character's hair?
>>63051>complaining about Sif's hair but not even mentioning Thor's.Your opinions are invalid.
>>63068Well, Thor's hair color doesn't share the same "plot" significance of Sif's. Sif's hair is supposed to be literally fashioned from gold by dwarves as repayment for Loki cutting off her natural hair. If it weren't for this, I wouldn't care what color they made Sif's hair because it's only a superficial feature. Besides, if we were to complain about Thor not having red hair, then we should also complain about Balder, the whitest of the gods, being portrayed as African.
>>63065>They did. In the Marvel books it was explained that Loki took her hair and the black hair is a wig.Oh. That's not quite as interesting or imaginative as their source material though.
>>63076I meant Loki stole the original blonde wig. Been awhile since I've read Son of Asgard. Thought it just had a new printing.>>63075<Marvel's Thor has barely more than a passing association with the myth much of the time, and did almost completely until Simonson came along.
>>63082I lol'd at Shopping Center
>>63082You'd think the Aesir would have found more sophisticated architects.
Little too ominous for my liking.
>>63089 They decided to go with a whole retro middle ages thing after that. Remodeling took YEARS.
SUPERGIRL AND BATGIRL VS DRACULAS!!!There is no way this will live up to what I'm imaging
>>63194I kind of hate that artist, though I can't tell if its genuine dislike or it's just sour grapes.same with Guillem March.
>>63194This is a nice cover.
For all the Marvel that I read, I love finishing a good, solid series/book from (Vertigo-)DC. I'm putting Morrison's Doom Patrol right up there with Starman. Also, I gotta admit: Cliff Steele > Ben Grimm

Hey, the new comic shop opens tomorrow. Apparently a convenient walk from the Ferry Terminal that I think offers free parking on the weekend.Sounds like a day trip to me.
I'm finally catching up on Detective Comics and man, after so many issues of JHW3, Jock just can't compare. Plus, it's not looking so good. Hus other stuff looked better than this; what happened?
That was a fun trip. A small little store, but it attracted a big crowd.
>>63689Yeah, while I didn't mind the Jock art, JHW3 just blows it out of the water.
OH SHIT

Yesterday, I watched the BatB episode where Aquaman goes on vacation with his family, and the episode from the X-Men cartoon where Cyclops realises that Corsair is his dad.I'm not sure if that was planned, but if so... gg, UK cartoon channels. gg.
So, Casper and the Spectrals 2 is finally coming next week.

>>65235It is! It's the "Ancient Onyx."

>>68234>next issue: where on earth is Larfleezeyesssssssssssss.>>68253you will never be pleased
>>68253Have we come to a list of characters that Geoff Johns should really just stay away from at this point? So far all I can think of at the moment is Firestorm and the Spectre.
>>68266Actually, I was, very much so by issue #54 and Geoff Johns' Green Lantern issue #14 was the comic that got me back into comics, I just despise Blackest Night and the way Johns wrights The Spectre.I'm probably one of the most easily pleased comic fans on earth.>>68293Yeah, Firestorm and The Spectre are pretty much it, the man really is VERY good at characterization though sometimes his dialog is about as subtle as a brick stick to the forehead, The Spectre and Firestorm seem to be the only characters he is CRUSHINGLY bad at writing. Also #55 was a really fun issue, even the Spectre part I had no right to be angry over since he did nothing with him yet, I just know more is coming and WISH AND PRAY he'd just leave him alone.Dex-Starr's story is heart-breaking and adorable indeed. Also, Have some AWESOME SUR.
So I had no idea Kick Buttowski existed until just now, when I caught an episode.Disney! I am impressed. Especially with the handling of flash. That's how the medium should be used, people behind Johnny Test.

>>73851in b4 They get their own Heroic age book called Space Avengers
>>73851Fuck yes, DnA are finally getting their hands on Bill!
>>73851That is one fierce line-up.>>73853Well, IIRC, there was an Avengers branch in space at one point, with Quasar and Thor as members, among others. Only thing I can't remember if it was before or after the Kree-Skrull War.So, it's entirely possible.
Nova may be down with being a (secret) Avenger, since he knows what kind of honor and prestige that has on Earth, but if Steve Rogers asked someone like Kallark if he wanted to be an Avenger, there'd be a scene that'd dwarf that one talk between Nova and Tony Stark.

>>76058Another note, she's going to be in the Young Justice cartoon.
>>76058 >>76059 It's still a pretty damning position to leave Miss Martian hanging in and cartoons don't mean immunity in comics if they aren’t part of the more well known Legacy characters.
>>76006Just when I thought that no amount of fanfare or recommendations could get me to read Supergirl, someone shows me a picture of Jimmy Olsen two-wheeling a motorcycle away from an explosion while saving a child.Well, I guess I know what's going on my pull list when the three Batman titles turn to two after Batman and Robin, Return of Bruce Wayne all end (I'm going to be picking up whatever title Morrison is on, and I'm giving the new guy on Detective a chance.)

>>76298The teen drama and character death aspects could easily backfire in handled incorrectly. I do like the new angle they're taking with the DC universe and how they're focusing on the setting as a whole. The character designs appeal to me, but I don't like how everyone has the same seriousface expression. I hope they show more personality when they're outside of combat.

I probably will never not be amused by this pic
dammit all. I find myself at an impasse. With the new story arc "The Dark Things" Jade is being introduced into the JLB, which from the start of their run, I've found about as annoying as hell. This mostly has to do with Donna Troy and Dick as Batman (mind, I actually don't mind Dick as Batman in the Batman books, but he's too much of a team player and it feels off in the Justice League to have Batman act like that. Congorilla doesn't exactly help, because despite being quite the dapper chap... it's a talking gorilla. In the Justice League.)SO, along with Supergirl and Jessie Quick being added to the roster as well, they've completely rounded out the B Team mimicking the A Team's powers. I hate the concept that they're pushing here... and Donna Troy. I always HATE HER.But I love Jade. I want Jade in more stories, but I'm not sure if I can stomach the writing to support the book. The first two parts to the story arc have been pretty bad too, so I'm iffy about finishing it out in all honesty.

Can anyone recommend me a Hulk run that focuses more on the psychological side, that's NOT Peter David's run?I'm thinking the Bruce Jones run, but I'm not sure.
>>76805For the past several months (starting I think with that godawful Cartilage Head disasterpiece) it's been as though he's become disgusted by his fanbase and wants to burn the whole enterprise to the ground by becoming increasingly incoherent and making us hate every single character for their viciousness and/or spinelessness. I'd already ditched my bookmark but your post made me go look...and its only gotten worse.
>>76906I feel like I'm watching someone have a breakdown in slow motion. Achewood's only occasionally been conventionally funny, but it's always been witty; now it's just depressing.I swear, this must be how Evangelion fans felt during the series' original run, as the episode count teetered through the mid-teens*. Hideaki Anno got himself some therapy and all of a sudden his own insane issues, which had been lurking in the subtext all along, came boiling out in a furious froth of MY BRAIN IS FULL OF FUCK.I'm sitting here staring a months-long arc about Theodor giving a gay man with a head injury a blowjob in the back of Nice Pete's van and wondering where the FUCK did Pen-Pen go!?* Except that said fans apparently lapped that shit up instead of wondering what kinds of mushrooms the author had been taking.
To be frank, after Roast Beef and Molly got married he just thought to himself "... shit, what now?" and has been coasting (not quite the right word, but whatev.) ever since.

Wow this looks creepy as fuck.
I think I'm going to drop Ultimate Spider-Man, or whatever it's called nowadays. It's been crap since they changed the name. It's like they wanted to reboot the series, but didn't want to ditch the continuity they'd already created. It's turned into a high school sitcom, which is just weird, because with the amount of time that's gone by I'm pretty sure Pete should be a couple of years into college now. I wish they'd left USM alone and just brought back Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane if they wanted the high school setting so badly.I thought about dropping it before, but stayed with it because I liked Immonen's art. But now I'm losing interest in all of the characters and this current arc is just boring.
Hooollyy crap, dat trailerhttp://www.mediafire.com/file/jcvp3n14j88yfb5/thorsdcc.mpeg
>>77777>It's turned into a high school sitcom, Except it's been that way from the start and the "Ultimate Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" angle is the best thing Bendis has done with the book since he's started.>which is just weird, because with the amount of time that's gone by I'm pretty sure Pete should be a couple of years into college nowExcept comic books have used floating continuity for how long now? >. I wish they'd left USM alone and just brought back Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane if they wanted the high school setting so badly.Who the hell is this "They"? Bendis has been the only person writing this title from the beginning. And it's had a High School setting from the beginning. It's one thing to lose interest in a title, but claiming it's been changed into something completely different from what it's always been is dumb.
Green Lantern was enjoyable.am glad to see that Sayd taught Larfleeze to read and write.
>>77921Agreed, this issue was pretty fun.I'm a sucker for Hector Hammond though.
>>77921Green Lantern was better than Green Lantern Corps this month. Is that a good or bad thing? I don't know!
>>77932I'm gonna say bad thing since GL flip flops in quality so much.
>>77933I've got some hope since the comic is back in setup mode. I don't like Johns' work on events all that much, but the buildup to them and the ongoings in general tend to be pretty solid. Or at least, the last few issues of GL and Flash have been solid.Really, my original statement is just "GL was GOOD, and GLC was NOT AS GOOD." I need sleep, I think, I don't what WHAT I'm saying now.
>>77863Maybe it's just because it's been a while since I read the original run, but I don't remember the focus being on the high school drama anywhere near as much as it's been recently. And yes, I know how floating continuity works, but in this case it seems like Bendis actually took the characters backwards instead of just freezing them. It's awkward. Again, this might just be because it's been a while and I don't clearly remember what happened before. But every vibe I get from the characters is that they've dropped three years in age.And hey, please don't be like that. The "They" was directed at Marvel in general. I don't know a lot about Marvel's editorial structure and I don't know a lot about who wrote what and when. I do know Bendis has been writing this from the beginning, I was never in doubt about that. And I do know that the details of the setting, being "Spider-Man in high school," have never changed, but I always thought that the high school drama took a back seat to the comic's then purpose, which was retelling classic spiderman plots.I don't know how to explain it; I don't have any concrete evidence, just feelings. I believe there's been a difference in tone that's detrimental to the title.Maybe I'll go back to my back issues this weekend and check out the older books.
This sounds so retarded, I can't not read it.
>>78015As bad as you think it is, It's MUCH MUCH MUCH WORSE.
>>78015Kevin Smith should go back to writing characters no one gives a shit about.
>>78024NO, He can't even do that properly.BITCH NEEDS TO GO BACK TO MOVIES, he has no place in comics...aside from Green Arrow, in which case it's okay.
>>78015I hate it, i really hate it
>>78027I dunno, Daredevil wouldn't be where it's at if Smith hadn't kick-started shit again. Hell, that was MY first DD arc. His Green Arrow was jammin'. His Batman....is weird. I only read the first two issues of his Green Hornet before I got out due to monies....after reading ads for motherfuckin' Matt Wagner on Green Hornet Year One I KNEW I had to stop reading now before Dynamite had all my money.
>>78120I found his Dare Devil hammy like all the comics he's writes, but like his green arrow it wasn't so bad and towered above a lot of the other stuff in the story well. His batman however is an abomination his hands show be broken over.
>>78125I DL'd Widening Gyre 6 to see what all the hubbub was about.JESUS CHRIST IN A CAKE PAN.Let's just say, no, I wasn't even remotely surprised by the final spread (least of all by the in-your-face gore-spray, sadly), but I was astounded by everything else in the book. I know Smith's shtick is LULZ = HU-MAN but there weren't two consecutive pages that didn't make me facepalm. I'm hard pressed to pick a winner from the lowlights, but I'd have to say Catwoman takes to award over the drawn-out "DeeDee" explanation, beating the "robot," Gordon, bladder spasms, the basic story (I AM BATMAN LURVE MAEK ME STOOPID HURF HURF DURF) and damn near everything else.Sole highlight: I NEED A HUG plus mouth tape. I've actually wanted to see that face sealed shut for a long, long time.

I'm REALLY enjoying Wakfu so far, i could watch it just for the gorgeuos animation alone. I like how Grovy is not just your regular "oh-shit-nigger-what-are-you-doing" comic relief, but an actually good and interesting character, who can slap your shit with a talking demon-sword. The whole "no bad people, just misguided ones" vibe this show gives is also very nice, i think it's something every cartoon targeted at 8-10 year olds should have. But oh well, the moment is lost, nobody gives a shit about it anymore.

Greg Pak took FOUR YEARS to wrap up what he was doing with the Hulk in Planet Hulk, and actually gave the perfect payoff, and turned a story I was iffy on into the first chapter of a real Hulk Epic that I enjoy.During Planet Hulk, people were comparing his run to Peter David's. They were wrong then, but now I think he's finally lived up to that. And you can definitely tell where the inspiration for his run comes from. He's riffing heavily on Bill Mantlo. The little callback with the doll was pretty cool as I had just read Mantlo's run a few weeks back.
I would just like to say, that I really like this cover.

So I finally started reading Savage Dragon, great series, pacing is HYPER jumpy at first, but you get used to it, I like that the series doesn't beat you with pointless details and cuts to the chase without leaving out the important bits but HOLY SHIT, Here I was thinking Overlord was a shitty image Doom/Magneto Amalgam, so far it seems I was right, except about the shitty part....HOLY FUCK.
>>86143is that Iron Man using Dr Doom magic?!
>>86155Umm, I guess he might as well be, OVERLORD DOESN'T FUCK AROUND.In the fight he has with savage Dragon, it's INCREDIBLY lob-sided, He blasts a hole through Dragon's guts, roasts his hand off and send him flying out a sky-scraper to be impaled on a church roof.....Then spouts the kind of line I thought only Doom could say without it being cheesy.
>is that Iron Man using Dr Doom magic?!And if it is, can we have that for the next movie? "Tony Stark has been kidnapped, tortured, shot, blown up and punched the equivalent of five city blocks. But this time...he's actually kind of got himself into trouble."
This is one of the most insane confrontations I've ever seen in comics. The emotion on the page with context is stunning.
>>86143I've heard comparisons to One Piece. I've read very little Dragon (and barely much more One Piece) so that just got kind of a "huh?" out of me. Is the comparison about right?
>>86188In terms of flat out bizarreness, Amazing fights and great story? Yeah, I could see it being likened to One Piece.Otherwise they are two very different very different beasts.

What's sick is that when Shooter was running the show, he okayed Howard sticking his quacker into Beverly and a Dracula pedobear story (both in the B&W mags), but wouldn't let Byrne say outright that Northstar was gay. If you read between the lines in Alpha Flight v1 #8, Byrne actually did a decent job of encoding the revelation.

>>86665>>86685I know how you feel. Recently I heard about a suspense/horror novel in which vampires have taken over, the few human survivors living either as enslaved livestock or in scarce settlements scattered across the wasteland. It sounded interesting to me, since the idea of vampire overlords hasn't been played with much and supposedly the whole thing was very well-written and powerfully disturbing. The catch was, however, that the vampires were created by a virus that the government concocted to turn everyone into immortal super-soldiers.I just don't need another story like that. No one does.
