Any ideas for flexible work? I'm out of ideas AND money AND time.

I'm tired of waiting for agency calls from my college.

Sheridan had a bunch of on-campus jobs that would fit the hours they gave you to accommodate your class schedule. A bunch of my friends worked at the library and enjoyed it, maybe it's worth looking into?

This. Campus jobs are the best jobs.

All work-studies at my school pay below minimum wage.

No really. Campus jobs are the best. You get money for not having a real job.

I'm talking about jobs like reshelfing library books, doing FAQ duty at the Student Union office, handing out pamphlets for the International Students' office, jobs like that. Even stuff at the food court/cafeteria if they hire students.

Granted, if you're really desperate, below minimum wage is better than nothing. I did a couple months as a waitress in a greasy spoon diner pulling eight hour shifts with no breaks and getting paid less than minimum completely under the table just because no one else was hiring and that was what it was gonna take to make rent.

Just saw a special about Portland Oregan on ABC. Turns out it's the the child prostitution capital of the U.S. Do you happen to be 12 years old and gullible? If so then you can make your pimp up to $1000 a night!

Also this is false. It's the law for there to be mandatory breaks. I think either two 15 minutes breaks, or one 30 minute one.

Yeah, it's also law for you to pay your employees minimum wage and keep some sort of record that they're working for you aside from a rough chart scribbled on a post-it. Legally they aren't even supposed to have people on staff if they aren't certified to serve liquor. Most of the girls waitressing there weren't even legally registered to work in the country.

The restaurant had about twelve tables, each of which could seat 2-4 people. During the busy hours you could expect a full house but the place was rarely totally empty. They had one waitress on per 8 hour shift, and it was your job to wait and bus the tables, run the register, stock the fridges, keep the floor swept and mopped, keep the ketchup/creamers/sugar on all of the tables full, take and pack delivery orders, bar-tend, and wash dishes. It was pretty chaotic, but I'm not complaining, if it wasn't for that job I wouldn't have been able to keep my apartment until I got the job on Ugly Americans. Sure it kinda sucks having to work like that for less than minimum wage, but I was just grateful to have a job. At that point I was hitting the streets with a stack of resumes and going into every place that had a "help wanted" sign up. I'd handed out about 50 of them and was down to my last $13 in the bank when I got the restaurant job, so I wasn't exactly in a position to turn my nose up at them.

That's pretty inspirational actually. In fact, besides the crap money, it's probably nice to lose yourself in the bustle sometimes..fuck I need to find a job soon. But I am balding...nobody will want me now.

I really love working in animation, but it's not bad to get out from behind a desk and work a job like that either. I'm pretty chatty, so I got a chance to meet a lot of people in the neighbourhood who still stop and say hi when we run into each other in the street. Most of the regulars remember me too, so I have people to chat with when I grab dinner there on the way home.

Look into a local motel job. Easiest work you could probably get. I'm being paid 9 bucks an hour full time and I'm just sitting here browsing the net and watching movies.
