I found a bunch of ants crawling all over the pantry and you know what? They can have it for now. I Windex'd a handful of them, but it's late at night and it'd be a real project to actually get rid of the whole bunch, so they can continue as they are until tomorrow when I'll have more time and help. Besides, it doesn't look like they've actually succeeded at getting into the food yet, and it certainly can't hurt to let them feast on that poison trap for a few hours.

That said: fucking ants.

Wait, like, overnight, and then just clean everything up and keep an eye on the place the next few days to see where the ants are getting in from. I consulted a doctor, and they said the best option was to wait and see if it stopped, because it had pretty much dried up for a good hour. They figure it was just piles.
It's hard to get medical attention for a not-instantly-life-threatening problem at 3 o'clock in the morning.

If the problem persisted, or if I fealt the onset of blood loss problems, I should either call the doctor again, and they'd send out a car for me, or if it was blood loss, call an ambulance for a blood transfusion.

Either way, my ass has ceased spewing vital body fluids, and has resorted to instead spewing what-shouldn't-be fluids, so I'll most likely check with a doctor on Monday, because now it's hit the week and a half mark it's the sign of a more serious problem - although my dad has had something nasty like this for going on 3 months, and they don't have a clue what to do with it. Obscure, foreign strands of norovirus are hard to treat.

My brother found out and decided it couldn't wait (I guess building houses in Africa teaches you something about work ethic), and I couldn't just let him toil away on his own, so we cleared the food out and killed all the ants we could. They had been getting into the Tootsie Pops, but almost nothing else, so they probably won't be back in such large numbers now that their sugar goldmine has been thrown out. Also, I put down an extra trap next to their point of origin, but it had been sitting in my room for a while so I don't know if they'll go for it.
