I noticed something, as I was trying to get some work done on a story I'm writing, there are a lot of gaps in the time line. Its assumed that most of it was spent traveling, but what about in Book Three? After the "Day of the Black Sun" they spent most of there time in one place, so how much time is in between the episodes? If anyone can help with this it would be very much appreciated. I just need to know how much time passes between the eclipse until the end of the show. Thank you for any help you can provide.

If you take all of the below posted information into consideration, there could be as much as a four month period of time that passes between the eclipse and the reunion scene at the Jasmine Dragon.

I have a working detailed timeline but I make a lot of unsubstantiated assumptions about how they keep time in the show. I assume there are twenty four hours in a day, seven days in a week, four weeks in a month, and three months in a season. I also assume that each book spans roughly one season with weeks worth of time passing between Books 1 and 2, and Books 2 and 3.

TL;DR ahead...

There's exactly two months between the season 2 finale and the eclipse.
>"General Fong's base will serve as the launching point of the attack. (a closer view reveals colored stone markers representing military units) In exactly two months, the Army and Navy will invade the Fire Nation on The Day of Black Sun."
- General How, taken from ASN's transcript of The Guru

And there there's this:
And then there's this:
>"Listen carefully. (Scene cuts to a close up of Fire Lord Ozai. His body is black against a wall of flames.) Sozin's comet will return by the end of the summer."
- Roku, taken from ASN's transcript of Avatar Roku

"By the end of summer" could be any time during the last month of summer, after the eclipse had passed. So anywhere from a few days to an entire month.

If I assume each book spans a season, the end of Book 2 should also mean the end of spring.
Following the season 2 finale, there are the events of the Nick Mag ALL AVATAR comic which probably span a few weeks as they lead up to The Awakening. So...two, three weeks between Books 2 and 3? They would have approximately five to six weeks from The Awakening until the Invasion (assuming two months is equal to eight weeks) to travel through the Fire Nation on their way to the invasion force's rendezvous point.

---
THE DAY OF BLACK SUN and the events that follow it and lead up to the series finale could easily fill up a two week period, with some free time left for fooling around and training since they weren't planning to attack Ozai until after the comet had passed, anyway.
---

3.12: WAT: 24 hour period from the time they reached the temple, which probably happened the day of or the day after the eclipse, until the end (with one night passing).

3.13: FBM: Looked like it spanned two full days (with two nights passing). It probably took place the day after Zuko joined. He would have wanted to start teaching Aang as soon as possible. No real time passed between WAT and FBM.

3.14/3.15: TBR: Looks like it spanned four days (with the three nights passing and Sokka, Zuko, and the others arriving back at the temple on the fourth night.)

3.16: TSR: I have no idea... Zuko and Katara travel all over the place. This episode could have taken a week for all I know. I thought it spanned three or four days, but I've only watched it twice. I might not have the particulars down.

3.17: EIP: One day.

The events of Sozin's Comet, Parts 1 and 2 take place in the span of three days, with the comet arriving at the end of The Old Masters.
>"How can you sit around having beach parties when Sozin’s Comet (Camera slowly pans through the rest of the group who have guilty looks on their faces) is only 3 days away!"
- Taken from ASN's transcript of The Phoenix King.

The comet itself stayed for less than a night, and Zuko's coronation would have been immediate upon his defeat of Azula (early the next day, I assume, since I doubt they'd want the Fire Nation to go too long without a Fire Lord in place). So everything from the the beginning of The Phoenix King through Zuko's visit to Ozai probably took place in under a week (four or five days).

According to the Sozin's Comet adaptation, the reunion scene at the Jasmine Dragon took place three months after Ozai's defeat. This book was based on the screenplays but I don't know that it's considered canon.

So again, taking all of this into account, roughly four months pass between the eclipse and the reunion scene.

Thank you very much. You are a huge help. Though I don't think the coronation would have taken place the next day. For one it would take time to get the ceremony planned and put together, and two, It would also take time to get all of the groups from the other nations together as well as tracking down and releasing all of the POWs. Other than that, your time line seems flawless. Thank you so much.

Glad I could help. :)
