What. What is this.Maiko thread is autosaging and there's no new thread? For shame.Last thread at >>30269
DID SOMEONE SAY ADORABONERS HINA ART?BECAUSE I THINK I HEARD SOMEONE SAY ADORABONERS HINA ART.
>>58331 She doesn't have the giant tits for that get up. But I'll take it.
Not sure if this is really Maiko, but whatever.
>>58369Awwwwwwwwwwwww.Adult Mai would be awesome.
d'awww
More from DSHina
Chibi Maiko, they're so cute!
So I rewatched "The Beach" and was kinda bored by Mai. I've always found Zuko to be hilariously dorky but I guess I don't understand Mai. What I'm saying is: explain the appeal to a Maiko noob?
>>59126Because Zuko is a dork and Mai doesn't hesitate to shoot him down when he's being thickheaded. He's hot headed and passionate, and she's scarcastic and low-key, she keeps him grounded. It's one of those opposites attract thing, only not superficial/stereotypical opposites like Fire and Water but more, you know, actual dynamics that matter to people. Plus, "You're so beautiful when you hate the world" or "I don't hate you, too" are just a-dork-able, come on.
>>59126I thought Mai's comment on the icecream part of the beach was pretty funny.
>>59126Cute contrast between their typical demeanors and how they act toward each other. Their relationship is also amusingly combative at times.Plus they're both so repressed in day-to-day life that it's easy to imagine them getting totally sappy/freaky the moment they're alone.
>>59133 people keep saying it's inferred they had sex in these scenes but I never understood how. someone help a brutha out?
>>59140Because the morning after, Mai's serving him tea, Zuko's still there and his hair's messed up.
>>59128>>Plus, "You're so beautiful when you hate the world" or "I don't hate you, too" are just a-dork-able, come on.Personally I thought those lines made them sound like an annoying hipster couple, though the latter was definitely better than the former. Their dialog improved quickly and drastically, though.
>>59143>annoying hipster coupleI'm dissapoint.
>>59146What? It was just one line, and the scene it took place in was cute as hell.
>>59143>Personally I thought those lines made them sound like an annoying hipster coupleSpeaking of hipster couples.....
I don't think there's enough facepalm in the world for this.So the picture I've posted is a lovely piece of art from Hina, called 'Seduction' recently got reported by another Deviantard for 'depicting underage characters in adult situations.' In short, the person reporting it whined to DA that it was kiddie porn.Hina herself is laughing her ass off at the whole thing, but it gets really interesting when you read the comments of her latest journal, because the person who did the reporting shows up to basically flaunt the fact that this is clearly child pornography, and we 'cupcakes' are all too stupid to read DA's policy and recognize it as such.People point out that Hina said her characters were intended to be in their early 20's in the picture, but the reporter counters that the characters in the show were 16, and copyrighted to Bryke, which means in no way can you ever claim them to be older. Even our fave Ali Wildgoose shows up and basically asks if she drew Zuko as a 60 year old man, by this chicks logic it's still kiddie porn. And all throughout this chick is just calling everyone retarded and tossing out condescending sweet talk and pet names, along with an overabundance of emoticons. Also she states she loves to come back to her reportee's journals to partake in the 'butthurt and lulz'Goddamn I wrote far too much considering it's really not that big of a deal, but holy shit this chick is pissing me off so much. But I know how much we all love Hina's work, and hey, everyone loves a good wank!
>>59399I've seen worse, but only because I browse D&D forums. Jesus God, that's pathetic.
>>59399Who wants to bet it's a HIBY fan, or possibly Ms. Diaz herself.
>>59404nope, some broad named Angelil...something? I dunno, but if you read the comments you'll pick her out right away. She's the one that everyone is pointing out as an idiot. She seems to do a lot of pixel art, and I can't even tell if she's an ATLA fan or not.
>>59399Now that I think about it, I think DA has some odd note about post-series fan art still being susceptible to their underage policy. Either way, it's still ridiculous due to the inconsistancy of how mods handle things and how loose the term "kiddie porn" is being used hereAt worst, that picture simply depicts Zuko and Mai embracing each other sensually, no tits or penis visible at all. Underage or not, it's relatively harmless
>>59399I think the best thing about the whole situation is that Hina's reaction to the entire situation is approximately similar to the reaction most people have when they're sitting on the toilet, they go to reach for the paper, and the roll is out but there's a new one sitting on top of it. It's like: "Wait, what? Oh, heh." She's not even mildly inconvenienced by the fact that her picture was banned. And meanwhile the retard who got it taken down is like, "LULZ LULZ YOU'RE SO BUTTHURT BUTTHURT BUTTHURT CUPCAKE" and Hina's posting awesome faces. This person really cannot seem to grasp that Hina couldn't fucking care less. I love her.
>>59399You know, there is probably very questionable porn on deviantart. No doubt. Yet this chick goes for (at least) teenage sex. Her comments are hilarious. I can't figure out if she is a genuine member of the fun police or just a zutard in hiding.PS: she's into anthro. I wonder if she knows that since foxes only live about twelve years, she is depicting minors nude except for fur. She says the character is 18, BUT HOW CAN WE KNOW?
>>59399>Total Cunt>Furry>Unfunny trollAnonymous never forgives.
I went and got some more maiko art to stem the anger from this Hina thing. This is an unusually earnest Mai, but I like it.
PFFFFFFTI guess that lady followed me from Hina's journal as OMG! This drawing has been reported and taken down! Which is kind of hilarious in this case as I have rarely drawn Zuko looking so inappropriately buff. What's that site Hina's been putting her stuff on? I suppose I should get an account there. :|
>>59526Most of Hina's stuff is drawn and hosted on Tegaki.www.unowen.net/tegaki/index.phpIt's really fun, since all comments are also drawn as well. Sometimes you end up with comment art that trumps the original drawing!
>>59526At the same time, Hina also has an account on Manga Bullet here: http://www.mangabullet.com/ds-hina/profile
>>59500HNNNGH SO CUTE
>>60843that's not maiko at all.
>>60843Looks like someone needs to read Gunnerkrigg Court.http://www.gunnerkrigg.com
>>59411Gotta love Hina. I always admire how some people can shrug things like that off. It it were me i would probably blow up like a fucking Volcano, but she's all like lol whatever....
>>59411Shit, i'm getting more pissed at this stupid bitch than Hina is. She keeps throwing the phrase "kiddy porn" around and its getting on my nerves.
hot damn, you guys.
>>60913Is that--Are they--:D
>>58317>>59128Good explanation but their quotes aren't adorkable to me.Just cheesy and AIDS.
>>60913It's a shame they're both girls. God damn that would be some good cosplay porn otherwise.
[Zapp] What are you, Gay? [/Zapp]
>>61090>both girls>a shame
>>61090You. Out. Now.
>>61090>It's a shame they're both girls.Wh..what the fuck is wrong with you?!
>>61104>>61108>>61494Now, now. They could be a straight woman or a gay man.
;____;
>>61497You are a very nice person Hina. :3I don't know what else to say.
>>61497I don't see this on any of your other accounts...Awww, you thought of us first! That, or the policies of your other galleries wouldn't let you do this...it might also be the image that got deleted when your program kept screwing up, not sure, you're awesome anyway.
>>61501And here I was just stalking her journal reading about that. Ha ha. Good times, good times.
>>61500>>61501Well, I remember a certain someone telling me I should submit my suggestive drawings here, so uhm, yeah... *twiddles fingers* :(
>>61497This is utterly hot, Hina. The pose, shading, lighting, This pic was delicious to view. I love it all!
>>61503Oh don't you dare give us that sad face as if you should be nervous about anticipating comments.Your stuff is excellent, and it's always excellent. You're loved here. You're one of the best!
>>61497>>61503Yesssssssssssss.I did not like Maiko until you started drawing it. Same with GokuxChiChi. Both couples always seemed underused in their respective shows, almost like they were grudgingly put in. But you made me see a different side of them.Thank you.
>>61503Your work is greatly appreciated Hina. Also, whose goat to I have to sacrifice to get you to draw the Gaang Jr?
I join the fellas humble request.
>>61500wait, Hina comes here?bisonyes.gif
>>61497Honestly, I have been sitting her for 5 minutes thinking of an intelligent response, and I can't really think of one other than: This is really hot, I like it.
>>61497Freaking gorgeous
Thanks a lot you guys :).As for the gaang jr.thread, I'll see if I can draw at least an sketch before I go back to doing homework ;_;
>>61543 I don’t know if I can forgive this used joke.
>>61497IT'S PARTY TIME!...sorry.
>>61543Forget >>61544 it's awesome.
>>61497Oh, and Hina, YOU'RE AWESOME. <3
HINA YOU'RE OHSUM NEVER LEAVE!CAN I HAS YOUR BABIES?!...Yes I'm guy. I know.Yes you're a girl. I know.Yes, that's anatomically impossible. I know....GODDAMMIT! KAMINA'S MY GOD! AND IF HE SAYS I CAN HAVE BABIES THEN BY GOD I'LL GROW A VAGINA BY SHEER WILL!
>>61497This is amazing work Hina, the colors and lighting. The way Zuko lifts Mai onto the dresser, very hot! I must bow to your artistic prowess...
>>61497fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffThere are no words to describe the happiness that makes me see you around, and of watching your fenomenal work.Eres simplemente ASOMBROSA.
>>61561Win post is win.Hey guys, there's a serious lack of (good looking) Mai pr0n. Not just Maiko, but Mai in general. Someone needs to rectify this.
>>62355The left part of that pic is seriously creepy.
Wow something she has in common with Helga...*fapping at the thoughts of girls schlicking at statues.
A wild Hina appears! AWESOME.>>61561ENGULF THE HEAVENS WITH YOUR VAJINGO.
>>62367>ENGULF THE HEAVENS WITH YOUR VAJINGO.
>>62355Oh god she has a shrine....now I'm picturing her having Helga like rants at Zuko and then holding a picture of him tightly in private as she confesses her undying love to it....and then punching a smiling Ty lee for listening in behind her.
>>62387This picture was posted on deviantART exactly three years and one day ago. Just thought you should know.
>>62403Exactly? Dear god...PEOPLE ARE READING MY MIND IN THE PAST!
>>62403I LOL'd quite hard.
>>61503....Oh, that CAN'T possibly by you.
>>62546Let's see...Has Hina's signature on the page, it's in her style, name of the person who posted it is the one Hina uses when posting here...not seeing a seeing a conflict here.
>>59143It's more like people over interpreting this, and use it as a foil to how FAIL a lot of Zutara is. Still, Maiko is severely lacking in development, kind of boring, and a lot of fans have mentioned they fail to actually care about Mai unless they self insert themselves to her. It's been mentioned that one of the writers on the beach episode got lazy and just watched episodes of "The OC"I think if writers like Ali and Booter wrote it, and if Nickelodeon would have allowed Mai to have some well written episodes on her own, it would be better. But hey, what do I know. I'm just a "fan with ideas"
>>62557Eh, I did not really mind Mai all that much. She and Zuko were a good fit, personality-wise, although their relationship did seem to start rather abruptly. I don't think she needed episodes devoted to her; she was always a secondary character.
>>62565I'm probably the only one who thinks that Avatar having some MORE "filler" episodes would have improved the experience. In the same style as the NickMag comics. Like, one episode about Suki and the Kyoshi warriors, another episode about Mai and Ty Lee, with some flashbacks to their years at the Fire Academy, and maybe show a bit more of Maiko, an episode about Iroh, etc, etc.I know it's the popular fandom's opinion that the filler episodes ruin the show, but maybe it would have helped delve a bit into the parts of the story everyone felt were lacking.
>>62572I don't think you'll find much disagreement here, with the way Gaang Jr. has been sketched out. And I don't mean that in a bad way. I adore just seeing the characters interact without SRS BSNS intruding.
I think really season 3 was supposed to be the most OHSUM season ever...Then Nick said "Screw you" and slashed their budget to pieces.I mean, it's no secret that Nick hates Avatar(Case in point, the timeslots they put it in, the amount of reruns they showed it, the "ToyLine", The movie. The TOTAL LACK OF SUPPORT they give to it)I can't really blame Mark and Brian either. I mean I want to, but what's the point... Sozin's Comet was supposed to be the best part of the whole series. Unfortunately they didn't do a good job of explaining Aang's Lion Ex Machina. If only they tightened up(or removed) some episodes...
>>62572QFFT>>62580>Unfortunately they didn't do a good job of explaining Aang's Lion Ex Machina.I didn't want them to. What is it with people wanting to explain the force? The force is.And the lionturtle thing was pretty well presented, imo. Hero has conflict, goes on mystical trance, ancient magical creature answers his spirtual call. All delivered in two neat episodes, with plently of time for the final fight.>If only they tightened up(or removed) some episodes...I still consider season 3 to be the best season overall.Infact, I would've loved some more "filler" to expand upon Maiko, and TyLee, and Suki (specially Suki).
On an unrelated note.Does anyone think that we can convince Palcomix to do a Maiko comic after they're done with the kataang one? So far both Zuko ad Mai have been completely left out of the fun in all of the avatar comic they've made, the /co/ one and the 2 that were commissioned by someone on their forums. That just don't fly, man.
>>62585I almost wrote a whole speech about the lion turtle thing and the spiritbending battle of the wills that they didn't show, but then I remembered this is the Maiko thread. So let me say this instead, how many more people do you think would have been okay with Maiko if M&B had just gotten to animate the little comic story from Nick Magazine into a Season 3 prologue episode like they had wanted to? Not to mention actually show Mai SMILING AND LAUGHING AND IT'S THE ONLY TIME IN THE SERIES SHE DOES AND THEY DIDN'T GET TO ANIMATE IT FUCKING RAGE
>>62585>>The force is midichlorians. Midichlorians are now canon.
>>62589IIRC, Slim's plan is to a series of comics based on canon, set after the finale. So chances are something will come out of it.>>62593I know I would've killed to see it. Infact, those three (or was it two?) comics really needed to become full episodes. And I'd would've loved a special on the whole Spirit Journey Aang took between seasons as well.
>>62585>I still consider season 3 to be the best season overall.Season 3 is definitely my favorite (though season 2 was better written), and I really don't get the finale hate. I think part of the problem was how Nick kept everything from airing quickly, and that built up some negative emotions and left people expecting far more than was possible from a TV Y-7 kid's show.>Infact, I would've loved some more "filler" to expand upon Maiko, and TyLee, and Suki (specially Suki). The "filler" was my favorite part of Avatar actually. I loved the big story arc and whatnot, but the character interaction and goofiness were the best parts for me. That's why I will forever love The Beach (circle of angst excluded, though it didn't bother me nearly as much as it bothered others). Also, I think the great characters and character interaction is what makes Avatar so great for crossovers and alternate universes.
>>62597>though season 2 was better writtenHow? People always say this, but I just can't notice anything particularly better of season two over the rest...
>>62600It's not really a substantial difference. It's kind of like how the "best" Pixar movie is really only a bit better than the "second best."Season 2 felt a bit more connected and better paced even if a good portion of the first half was filler. I think the main part of it was how they had more a goal through the whole thing. The first half of season three, while I did enjoy it greatly, didn't feel as if much was happening. . .just waiting until the invasion, and then in the second half, everything happens. The first half of season 2 had that somewhat, but they still had a goal in mind: finding an Earthbending teacher for Aang while Azula tries to capture him, and Zuko gets some serious character development. Of course, I didn't get into Avatar until most of season 2 aired, so I managed to blitz through most of it instead of spending time waiting until the next episode would air like with season 3, and that would make it feel a lot better paced. Also, the Ba Sing Se arc was very well done.
I'm pretty sure people like season 2 because the portion of the season where they're in Ba Sing Se was pretty well paced, with an unusually sinister and non-straightforward antagonist, and the big surprises in the finale were actually pretty surprising. The second season also introduced Toph and Azula, both popular characters. As has been mentioned, it also benefited from not having ridiculously long gaps between episodes.>>62597I loved the campfire chat. It was melodramatic as all hell, but also totally reminded me of how I felt and acted when I was a teenager.
>>62580
>>62580>Mark and Brian either>Aang's Lion Ex Machina. You'd best be a newbie. If not, GTFO.>>62593>So let me say this instead, how many more people do you think would have been okay with Maiko if M&B had just gotten to animate the little comic story from Nick Magazine into a Season 3 prologue episode like they had wanted to? Not to mention actually show Mai SMILING AND LAUGHING AND IT'S THE ONLY TIME IN THE SERIES SHE DOES AND THEY DIDN'T GET TO ANIMATE IT FUCKING RAGETHIIIISSSSS.>>62605>>62620My thoughts exactly. I loved season 3, don't get me wrong, but season 2 was paced better. I also hated the formula of having a silly episode tossed in right after a SRS BSNS episode (Nightmares and Daydreams after The Puppetmaster, The Ember Island Players after The Southern Raiders). Also, you guys wanting more filler that showed more character backgrounds and such? I agree, except I wouldn't call that "filler", I'd define filler as "time-wasting nonsense" as Sokka called it. Filler is entertaining (mostly, if it's Avatar) but doesn't really contribute to the story.
>>62597The campfire chat was still pretty shittily written though. Awkward as hell. Background and new information slapped together. Could have been good but all this reality TV show shit. Do not want.
>>62636I wish I could call you a troll, but I'm secretly going to have to agree ;_;Watching a lot of the villain centric/filler episodes on certain animated series, people know how to do things. "The Beach" especially that goddamn firechat felt forced. Everytime I hear someone say "lol omg I can relate because I wuz like that as a teenager lol" I fukkin rage, because seeing these kids claim that the only time characters are good is when they are shallow as they are.Stain on the awesome that is Maiko.
