Browsing for pics on dA, I noticed that the vast majority of Kataangers are Tokkans. While the vast majority of Zutarians are Sukkas.It makes me feel weird, as a Kataanger, to have always shipped Sukka.Never even considered Tokka as anything else than "Aw, Toph's tsundere... how cute".So, which one do you ship, since when and why?Also, post Sokka/Suki/Sukka pictures. My folders are lacking.

Obviously, Sukkoph is my favorite, but to answer the question, my love of Sukkoph has always been "Sukka with Toph" instead of "Tokka with Suki." Sokka and Suki are just too adorably dorky for me to not love them (and the tent scene sealed the deal for me). While there are some cute Tokka pics I like, they're never really that romantic, and more just like awesome friends together.The main difficulty I have with Tokka is just how hard it is to get Sokka to like Toph in that manner. When writing Blind in the Water, Sokka<--->Suki, Suki<--->Toph, and Toph--->Sokka weren't too hard, but Sokka--->Toph is really difficult.Maybe it's because I joined the fandom late and didn't do Book 2 at the same pace as others, but Toph/Sokka never really jumped out to me.If Zutarians obsess so much about the age difference and Aang and Katara, it would make sense for them to not ship Tokka (and instead ship Taang, because apparently age is everything).From that one Zutarian video series, I get the sense that they support Sukka because they think it has strong parallels with Zutara somehow, when I would argue that the awesomeness of Sukka comes from how drama-free Sokka and Suki tended to be.

I've loved Sukka since the beginning of the show-- in fact "The Warriors of Kyoshi" was the first episode of Avatar I ever watched. I was like "HOHOHO, I SMELL OTP" by the time she'd gotten him in drag, but their goodbye was what cemented it for me and made me hope that Suki would show up again.I don't know if it's my favorite ship, though. Sukka's been my favorite ship for awhile now, and even more so the more I consider it. They work so damn well together, and it's HOT. It also helps that Sokka's my favorite Avatar character and Suki's about my third favorite ...

Sukka fan here. I like Sukkoph on occasion, but I was never much of a Tokka fan. Sokka has girls fighting over him, but he never looked at Toph in a romantic way. They work better as BFFs for me. Maybe another reason why Tokka was so popular was that, between near the end of Book 2 and more than halfway through Book 3, Suki was MIA.

Holy crap, so much awesome fanart @_@ I was severely lacking eyecandy for this pairing, too. *saves*I...have never "gotten" Tokka outside of a Sukkoph context. Her crush was cute, but just because they're so close doesn't mean they'd naturally work as a couple. Toph hates being overprotected and Sokka has shown himself to be VERY overprotective of the girls in his life, you'd think that would quickly annoy Toph and she'd start having second thoughts.
