>>73681It's by JVC, I can GUARANTEE it's porn.
>>73681>>73685That's right! Stay away from smut, kids! :)
>>73541Those eyes, man. They can see through my soul!
I'm just here to say that Aang is a fucking awesome character and I will personally bitchslap anyone who disagrees.
>>78779I CANNOT WITHSTAND HIS GAZE.Also: what ep is this from?
>>78788I'm pretty sure it's from the episode in season one wherein he was learning firebending from Jong Jong. The exact scene is when he burns Katara.
>>78789>>78790Thanks.

bitches love Aang
Rewatched the first three episodes today and started to wonder about something. Aang went into the Avatar State a few times after Katara and Sokka found him, so why did doing it at the Southern Air Temple suddenly trigger this reaction in all the temples of the four nations to show that the Avatar had returned? Why didn't this happen when he went into the Avatar State before? My guess is maybe it was due to the strong emotions he was feeling over the loss of Gyatso and the other Airbenders. The other times he went into the Avatar State he was only acting in self-preservation without much emotion involved. Or, you know, it was just a convenient plot point, but where's the fun in that? Also, does anyone have any theories about these temples? Do you think they would get a similar reaction when an Avatar goes into the Avatar State for the first time? What exactly triggers this nation-wide signal?
>>86184It's also too bad the characters never visited these Earth Kingdom...
>>86185...and Water Tribe temples.
>>86184It only happened then because he was inside the temple. They're connected or something.
>>58567This brought a weird thought to the forefront of my mind. What if Avatar had been created in the 80's?
>>86191>>What if Avatar had been created in the 80's?It'd vary a lot depending on what medium it was made for.
>>86191Choppy animation, formulaic plots, Frank Welker as Appa, Momo, and Iroh, action figures like "Deluxe Earth Bender Aang" and "Rainbow Attack Zuko". Stan Bush makes a song for the animated movie called "Don't Give Up the Fight". A sequel series about the gangs adventures as adults, aliens are invading.
>>86193You're forgetting Aang being a huge, muscley man who transforms into the Avatar State by holding a sword up and spouting a catchphrase, and Momo being an annoying talking animal. And Ozai being a comic villain whose plans never go right even if the good guys don't interfere. And the homoerotic undertones, of course.
>>86191- There'd be PSAs entitled "Avatar Aang says..." at the end of every episode (including one cautioning kids not to play with fire).- Katara would get kidnapped every other episode.- Sokka would function either as additional the comic relief or to set a conflict in motion as the result of his stupidity.- Toph would only show up in one episode for a PSA about blind people.- The characters would shout their attacks.- In later seasons, Aang would be able to armorbend with super sentai-esque transformation sequences.- Korra would be the exact same character as Aang, only female.
>>86200Where's my money?
>>86200Yeah, because there was no cartoons from the 80's with well thought out stories, developed characters and depth to the story and the world.
>>86207There already are Avatar PSAs for earth/water/fire/air safety:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkSTqY40MgU(Embedding doesn't work, derp.)
>>86208>Farting with green gasOfficially worse than Sonic Sez...
>>86209She already belches, scratches every part of her body and picks her nose. It's not necessarily a stretch for her character.
>>86207And I was definitely not referring to the majority of 80's cartoons there.
>>86191- Episodes would end with everyone laughing over something Momo does.- They'd be clearly stated to be white protagonists, and ethnic characters are token.- Robots are evil: Firebenders would be flamethrowing robots, so they can be shown dying on screen.- Powers don't come from martial arts, they come from some macguffin such as a magic ring, bracelet or staff. Enemies don't have a power of their own, outside being able to create flamethrowers.
>>86211There's always exceptions.I mean, if Avatar was made in the 00's it would be a Spongebob-style sitcom made by Seth Mcfarlane.
>>86213>if Avatar was made in the 00's
>>86214I don't get what you're supposed to be saying with that, so I'll explain simply. You are talking about the status quo of shows in the 80's, then berating someone who pointed out that not all shows are like that. I respond by point out that Avatar itself is not like the others shows that are made now. The point being that exceptions exist, and acting like every show back then was like your pre-conception is no different than the pre-conception that Avatar is like the status quo of shows now.
>>86207What show is that?
>>86216Mysterious Cities of Gold, a legendary French series by Jean Chalopin, the creator of many cartoons including, but in no way limited to: Ulysses 31, Inspector Gadget, Bots Master and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.
Even if Avatar had been made in the 80s and had followed some of the 80s conventions on 'how to make a show', it would have had good stuff we would remember now with nostalgia. Also, the most important thing here is, if Avatar had been created in the 80's, the toys would've been radical.
>>86218I want a transforming Appa/fatMomo plush
>>86215Ha, I don't even really know how I misunderstood you now. Nevermind! Sorry bout that.
>>86213>>86215I'm guessing you took Saturday Morning Watchmen to heart, too.I understand what you're saying, but that's not the game we're playing.
>>86223>I'm guessing you took Saturday Morning Watchmen to heart, too.Well, so did I, in that I memorized the lyrics and can recite them at a moment's notice. But that's probably true of most people on this site.
>>86224Guess I should've said "Saturday Morning Watchmen's intent".But yeah, strong together, united forever, they're the best of friends.
