Zcorp 3D Printer 650youtube thumb

The most important question remains... how good is it for copying your butt?

Presumably, it can duplicate your butt to identical specifications, whereupon you can insert a fleshlight into it and literally go fuck yourself.

I really want to do this... I have a nice butt.

That's goddamn cool. But oh dear god, don't google the price tag
>> No. 3724
Yeah, that's cool. But I'd still rather have a CNC mill.

This video has the most sophisticated computer voice generator I've ever heard.

That is quite clearly the front of an international crime syndicate run by a nefarious super villain bent on world domination. This printer will print the shackles with which to enslave the world.

This wouldn't be bad just to make prototypes for small cases or gadgets.

We have a 3D printer in art school, for the industrial designers. They're making quite some nifty stuff with that thing. Some guys recently printed a tricycle that can be run with a cordless screwdriver.

At first I was like
>multicolor printing
>gigantic print volume
>dat resolution

oh godddddd

but then I saw on another website:

>$60,000 price tag

NOPE

Anyway, the DIY market is doing some really amazing things with 3D printers these days.

The MakerBot has been used to do some nice stuff, and there's this thing for about $1700: http://boingboing.net/2011/08/02/ultimaker-high-speed-low-cost-3d-printer.html

And there's a couple good 3D printers in the $2-$3,000 range coming out of China.

Another neat thing: http://boingboing.net/2011/04/06/mobius-gear-a-one-si.html

I TOLD YOU, BRO. I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE PRICE TAG. I TOLD YOU, DAWG.

Yeah.
It's clearly meant as a business purchase.

>MakerBot
I helped build one my college either got for free or for a reduced cost. I heard it was only like $1000, but it's not that great; it has problems creating objects with cavities. It looked basically identical to the "Ultimaker" in your second link.

>>3745
Yeah, they even mention it can fit in any office. It's damn-near the size of a washer-dryer together so you'd probably have trouble finding some place to put it anyway.

>>3747
I think the main physical difference between MakerBot and Utimaker is that MakerBot moves the object, while Ultimaker moves the print head. Other than that, yeah, they're pretty much the same.

Can you use it to make weapons of any sort?
>> No. 3795
>>3794
Not really. You'd have to put any point or edge you wanted on it yourself, and I don't think it would hold them very well.

Also, while there are tricks to making pieces strong, we're talking "it'll survive being dropped on the floor" strong, not "could hurt a person" strong.

Dang. guess it'll be a few more years before I can DL the blueprints for a Kalashnikov and make them by the bushel in my basement without ever taking a metal shop class. :(

Honestly, it would be faster, cheaper and easier to learn how to make AKs from scratch and buy the required equipment.
