Much too lazy to go reviving the old thread. Starting a new one.
Now all of you stare in awe of how great I am.

Scrafty (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 HP/160 SpDef/98 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)
-Dragon Dance
-Rest
-Drain Punch
-Ice Punch

GG Bones. Assuming I didn't lead with him and took out the Kangaskhan before swapping out, your only hope would be Togekiss, and even then, if you let me get in a couple DDances before swapping to it, it'd probably be oneshotted by Ice Punch.
If I did lead with him, that'd be troublesome, cause obviously I'd have to attack without Dancing and not risk letting you get in a Focus Punch, which would let you swap out to Togekiss while I'm unboosted, but that's what the rest of my party is for.

If you don't get him onto the field before Miltank can Curse two or three times, it won't matter. If I have Pirouette Meloetta, I can just Close Combat him in the face.

And then there's Ditto.

>Miltank
I'd probably swap directly into Scrafty when she hit the field, if he hadn't been KO'd already. Cursers are obnoxious.
>Meloetta
If you got her out before I got out Scrafty, yeah, odds are she'd win.
Odds are.
>Ditto
His attack wouldn't be high enough to phase me, he'd just be a free opportunity to Dance up, and then hit him with a Drain Punch when I felt secure.

Seriously though, Dragon Dance, Rest, and Shed Skin make a straight-up unfair combo, I love it.

So really, the only Pokemon that can't at least get lucky and beat him is Clefable. That's still an accomplishment, since I know people who are afraid of my Clefable.

Hey guys, I'm a little new at making teams for competitive use. I'm sort of trying to cobble together a UU team from my favorite Pokemon.

I've got a reasonable set up so far but I'm at a loss as to what to put in the sixth slot. I'm thinking maybe a Calm Mind Driffblim to set up a baton pass chain to give some Special boosts to Octillery but I'm worried that might be too risky.

I was also thinking maybe Krookodile, Chandelure, Xatu, Flygon or Froslass.

Any ideas?

For those that want to compete, but don't have the 20 decades it takes to perfectly balance your EV's IV's, breeding, and all that other horse shit:

The answer you seek is Marowak. After just a couple of Speed boosts, he can tear apart entire teams if you play him smart.

This thread inspired me to make up a new team again after a long-ass time of not playing competitively.
Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.

The movesets were all made without outside help(Smogon, etc), and while it shows on some of them(what the fuck is that Reuniclus doing), some of them are straight up copied and pasted(sup Nidoking).

What server you usually play in on Pokemon Online, Bones?

The main one, the official PO server. Good enough place to get some varied battles in.

Start of turn 1
Cawliet called Hector back!
Cawliet sent out Chauncey! (Chandelure)

BlueFortune7's Kuyou used Fire Blast!
Chauncey's Flash Fire raised the power of its Fire-type moves!

The sunlight is strong!

Start of turn 2
BlueFortune7 called Kuyou back!
BlueFortune7 sent out Infernape!

Chauncey used Overheat!
It's not very effective...
BlueFortune7's Infernape lost 100% of its health!
BlueFortune7's Infernape fainted!
Chauncey's Sp. Att. sharply fell!

The sunlight is strong!
BlueFortune7: da fuck

People's reactions are the best part of this game.

Not great. Scizor kind of wrecked my shit every time he showed up. There wasn't a lot the team could do against Bullet Punch.

Going with Hone Claws over Swords Dance on Ninjask was a good idea, though.
>> No. 25311
God, Fire types ruin my day when they show up against the team I posted.
Ninetales is pretty easy to get rid of.
Infernape is a bastard and can rot in a sack.
Volcarona tears a hole through my team before I fully realize what happened.
Heatran is obnoxious, but handleable.

How sad is it that the worst type in the game is the one that trashes my lights.
>> No. 25312
>>25311
Well it's overall the worst type, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have heavy-hitters. Heavy-hitters like Infernape, Volcarona, and Heatran.

haha yeah remember how Ice is weak to so many types that just about ANY competitive Pokemon can oneshot it due to those types being so commonly run?

...Wait a minute.

Oh but wait, there is that part where Ice is only really super-effective to one commonly run type? Man, how shit is that?

...Wait, no...

Oh but there are those Pokemon who just straight-up absorb Ice type attacks and get a huge boost from them, so you've gotta be careful about even using them!

...Hm.
>> No. 25321
Ice is a terrible defensive type. But there are very few defensively-minded Ice-types to begin with. The most prominent one is Cyrogonal, and his real problem is his movepool being about as deep and complex as an 80's teen comedy. Beyond all that, Ice is a fantastic offensive type, and boasts plenty of heavy-hitters like Weavile, Cloyster, and Glaceon.

Fire and Grass are also bad defensive types, but Fire doesn't care about defense and Grass has all kinds of support and status moves to offset its numerous weaknesses.

>haha yeah remember how Ice is weak to so many types that just about ANY competitive Pokemon can oneshot it due to those types being so commonly run?

Wait so is this part of the post like, double sarcasm or what
>> No. 25323
>>25322
Fire is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock.
Of those types, all three are run pretty fucking commonly. Edgequake is run on any Pokemon who can learn it, Surf/Scald is ridiculously popular, and even if they don't get a Rock type attack to go with it, everything and its mom learns Earthquake.
Not to mention how most Fire Pokemon's secondary typing either adds more weaknesses, or causes its existing weaknesses to fuck them over even harder, or both. (see: Charizard, Volcarona, Heatran)

Ice is weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel.
Fire sees some pretty fair usage thanks to Steel types being so prominent, but a good deal of Ice types are Water as well.
Fighting, you'll run into, but nowhere nearly as often as Ground.
Same for Rock.
Steel, you don't see offensively unless you run into an Iron Heading Jirachi or a Bullet Punching Scizor. I legitimately don't remember the last time I saw a Steel type attack outside of those two Pokemon.

So while yes, Ice is pretty shit defensively, I'd pick it over Fire any day.
>> No. 25324
>>25323

Don't forget to factor in Ice's lack of resistances: It only resists itself.

Fire, while having a lot of common weaknesses at least has its fair share of resistances: Grass, Bug, itself, Ice and Steel.

Now Ice, Grass and Bug aren't particularly popular offensive types on their own but Ice and fire are two very common attacking types. That always gave fire a slight edge defensively for me.

Neither of them are very good defensively though.
