Still, that brings up a good point. Well, not really. What makes pokemon designs "pokemon?" I wanna make some fakemon, but I don't know how to go about it. I guess I should use 2 stage evos sparingly since everyone else has gone crazy with them.

They can't be too detailed.
They need to have an iconic design to them.
You shouldn't be adding all sorts of small accessories and unnecessary lines. Part of the iconic nature stems from having a strong silhouette (play "who's that Pokemon" with your designs).
When making evolutions, don't just make it bigger while adding a few more horns or more fire. Think about how an actual animal would mature and grow. Base your design on what sort of metamorphosis would seem natural but unique.

I feel that's a big part of what separates them from other collect the monster games and shows.

I really like this guy, and I think that some of his ideas are really cool. That being said, I always think that he's trying to hard to be all dark and edgy.

I always made stat spreads and movepools for my fake Pokemon, but I haven't updated them since Gen 5 came to town.

I would like to make my own fakemon, a cute little monkey that lives in high altitude forests and has to deal with lots of snow during the winter. But I don't want it to be an ice type, I was thinking a fire type.

Perhaps it starts off as a dual type; something/fire and evolves into a pure fire type? But that seems kind of silly. It should gain the secondary type right, not loose it right?

Still, the idea of a poke whose body features cleaning suds amuses me to no end. I mean, we already have a handful of pokes made of garbage, right? It's a logical and reasonable progression.

Yeah, there are a lot of dog-pokemon, one for every region but that's because dogs are popular and that well, there are dogs everywhere in the world.

I like that it looks more pretty looking than the other standard dog pokemon. Most are all big and bulky and cool.

OK so just go with me here but here's my idea.

A Lion Pokemon... normal right?

And then a bird pokemon. Also normal.

And then a snake Pokemon... however.

If you breed the lion with the bird. You make a Llamia type pokemon. And if you breed THAT pokemon with the snake, you create a chimera type pokemon.

Starters aside, there are, like, only five original Pokemon in that whole thing. I really like the starters, though. I want to see a switch-up in the starting types, and fight/dark/psy seems like a good triad to replace fire/water/grass. (Yes, I know all those starters are dual.)
