No. 144193
(Continued from >>141538) She picked herself up to find the person’s face buried in her bosom. “Oh dear!” A young man’s face appeared as she picked herself up, sharing the woman’s blush as they shared glances with each other. “I-I’m terribly sorry! It’s these heels, they’re awful to walk in an-“
“H-hey! It’s alright! It’s fine!” The man possessed doglike features; short ears, a tipped nose, short, platinum blonde hair, and a curved, fluffy tail. “I wasn’t paying attention anyway!”
“He seems cute, albeit a little young.” The woman noted. “And he does seem genuinely sorry…” She looked down to see broken pieces of glass scattered about.
“Oh dear I made you spill your drink! I’m so sorry!”
“What? N-no, it’s fine! I wasn’t really drinking it, really!”
“Let me buy you another one, is that alright?” The male seemed a little apprehensive, but he accepted the mother’s offer. He picked himself up and straightened out his shirt.
“Uhh…my name’s Will, by the way. And you are…?”
“Oh! My name’s Katherine! Sorry I’m so nervous, I don’t really do this kind of thing often.”
“No, no! It’s fine! I got dragged here by my friends!” The cat seemed somewhat at ease, he was about the same age as her daughter, which gave her sort of an idea of how to talk to him. Although, he seemed to be just as socially awkward as she was. “Do you uhh…do you want to get a drink?” She didn’t want to spoil the moment or mention that she was already half buzzed, so she decided to take him up on his offer.
“Yeah! Sure!” The two of them sidestepped their way through the crowd, this time trying their best not to bump into anyone. They managed their way to the bar without tripping over anyone this time, and took a seat at the counter. The male looked like he wanted to say something, but his mouth just seemed to hang open like a cage without a latch.
Katherine had to stifle a giggle, he was a cutie.
“So uhh…” He stammered, rubbing his leg. “You…that dress looks nice! I mean, you without it look nice! I mean, that dress, you wearing it, you all look nice!” The poor guy’s face was red and he looked like he was about to fall over so Katswell laughed lightly to try and calm him down.
“Will, please you don’t need to be so polite! Besides, my friend picked this thing out for me, but I don’t think it suits me well.”
“No, no! It looks great on you! It accentuates your figure really well!” Katswell blushed and smiled, she hadn’t been complimented like this in a while. He seemed to be earnest, if not really, really nervous, but she still appreciated his company. She decided she’d try and add to the conversation as well.
“You look nice yourself! Did your mother dress you?” She noted to use a more playful tone in her voice saying this, but then realized how weird it sounded, considering she was old enough to be his mother. Regardless, he gave a laugh and tapped his fingers on the counter.
“No, I sorta threw all of this on last minute. I don’t really have any ‘party’ clothes so my friends gave me some spares.” He tugged at his collar and looked at the Capri shorts he was wearing.
“Well, you look rather dashing.” She smiled. Will laughed nervously again, but seemed to be less tense then before.
“Thank you…so uh…how about that drink?”
