Apparently the family name didn't die out because the dorfs call him King Donquixote. So, 900 years ago, King Donquixote was a horrible warmongering conartist that only rewarded the people loyal to him, just like the current King Donquixote. And, 800 years ago, King Riku was compassionate, kind, and loved by his people, just like the current ex-King Riku. It's like poetry. It rhymes.
Also they're hung up on it because: a. Dorfs are really emotional and naive in general. b. It's happening again, with a member of the exact same family.
