Haha, I'd rather be anywhere but the colosseum, I said.

Is the colour spread a little off this time, like the proportions of everyone is really ugly...

Not too surprising a reveal though not a bad one either.

So... all the badly injured and unconcious losers are taken to the factory?

The land of toys and fairies just got a whole lot darker.

Are the women and children just pretending to forget or are they serious?

Why the hell toys, Doflamigo?
>> No. 31674
I just realized something. The losers aren't leaving the colosseum and the factory is underneath it.

Coincidence?

Doflamingo's been biding his time, hyping up the coloseum. Then he introduces the mera mera fruit as a prize, so he can bring in every single powerful gladiator at once. The losers are turned into toys Doflamingo can easily control with strings, creating a puppet army on par with kaido's animal army.

This plan sounds familiar.
>> No. 31676
remember how no one remembers the great gladiator with the statue in the coloseum? This explains that. Maybe it's toy soldier (or 'ricky' like we previously thought).

My money's on this Thunderous Soldier being Kyros himself. It would explain his relationship with Rebecca; she seems to be the only person who remembers who he was. Called the factory being under the coliseum, too. Smart move on Oda's part; it ties this already spread-out plot into one neat location and almost ensures that the tournament IS gonna be interrupted and brought to a sudden end. No way in Hell was Luffy ever gonna get to fight Jesus Burgess this early on; we should have seen that one coming.

It is interesting about the "person with the devil fruit" that Doflamingo brought along to turn people into soldiers, though. Since that was my headcanon Big Mom power before all this. Maybe it's Trebol's power or that other person who sits on the Spade Chair. Why] they're being turned into toys is beyond me, though.
>> No. 31679
>>31678
Dude, it COULD be mom's power.

Doflamingo's was using ceasar on punk hazard to create soldiers for kaido (what he gets in return is still up in the air), why wouldn't he be using the coloseum to give raw material to mom for a toy army. he's got his hands in two emporers.

Imagine if he took over Moriahs operation to sell zombie soldiers to blackbeard (though that wouldn't work unless they fought in the shade).

Would be neat though.
>> No. 31680
Huh. This whole Ricky/Rebecca/Kyros/Soldier thing suddenly got really jumbled for me. At first I thought Ricky was Kyros (and Rebecca's dad), and the toy soldier was Rebecca's boyfriend or something. If Ricky didn't exist I'd say that the timeline would be:
Kyros retires from the Colosseum (somehow) 20 years ago -> has Becky with some chick -> pisses off Doffy when he becomes king 10 years ago -> gets turned into a toy and everyone forgets him -> meets up with Becky and tells her his story -> Becky gets pissed and swears revenge on Doffy -> Becky becomes a gladiator.

But Ricky's little flashback messes everything up. This arc's flashback is going to be really interesting.
>> No. 31681
>>31680
Wait, what was Ricky's flashback? I forgot whatever that was.

I used to think Ricky was Kyros too, but the single only reason I'm against that now is because Ricky got taken out fairly quickly and easily. If Kyros was the badass everyone says he was, he would have lasted much longer. Old age is not an excuse for weakness in this series - only the opposite.

Maybe Ricky was Kyros' pupil or something. Or just an old fan.

Ricky had a one panel flashback in that one full-color chapter. It was him and little girl Rebecca in shadows. Since he had brown hair I assumed he was more likely to be her father than her grandfather.

Or maybe he's just her uncle or whatever. It's impossible to say at this point.

It just comes off as awkward. And that inking is much more hasty than his usual stuff.
Still, choppers head dream house set. What's not to love?

yeah it seems to be a combination of rushing and perspective, which seems oda has a problem with. That one colorspread where we are looking from above and brooks giving balloons or something comes to mind.

Well, whitebeard admitted that his old age was catching up to him at the battle of marineford. So at a certain point, it does make a difference.

Hey has the volume 71 sbs been posted here? Well it doesn't matter what you say because I'm posting it anyway. As always this info is stolen and edited without the poster's (who I'm not crediting) consent. I also took the liberty of cutting out all the junk and the result is... disappointing.

Q: This might be out of nowhere, but who in the Strawhate Pirates can use Haki? It's bothering me and I can't activate my "Love Hurricane".
ODA: It's these three. Their specialty haki color is in the parentheses: Luffy (Conqueror), Zoro (Armament), Sanji (Observation).

Q: In chapter 701, Law claimed that one of his crew drew the map that he shared. Is that crew member referring to Bepo!!? I ask this because at the bottom right of the map you can see a blurred paw print. It's there, right? -P.N. TakaAki・T
ODA: Yes, it's there, of course. Bepo is the Navigator of the Heart Pirates after all. He drew that map.

Q: What's the name of Law's sword? How many tattoos does Law-sann have? Odacchi... please draw all of Law's tattoos!
ODA: Ok, got it! Here are the drawing of Laws tattoos taken from my notes. He has heart themed tattoos, but I wonder if there is a reason for that? The name of his sword is Kikoku (TN: Written as 鬼哭 meaning "Demon's Cry"), it is a 'cursed Sword' (TN: Written as 妖刀, read as "Yo To", translating to something along the lines of "bewitched" "sword")

Q: I thought of birthdays for Caesar and Monet! Caesar is April 9th and Monet is August 27th! Is that ok? (TN: Refer to raw - it's a pun. 4月 is April. 9日 is Ninth. 4月9日 can be read as "Shinokuni" using Japanese onnyomi. Same with Monet. With a bit of effort 8月27日 can be read as "Harpy Day".)
ODA: Yeah, sure.

Q: In chapter 700 there is a reporter named "Abusa", that's referring to Absalom right? Right? And if you look closely, there's even the pirate ship. What other kinds of eroti... amazing articles... What other kinds of eroti... I mean, moving articles... What other kinds of erotic articles does he write?
ODA: Yes, that is Absalom. How nostalgic. In fact, he was also at the Battle of Marineford. After the battle, Doflamingo was stated that something strange happened to Moria. I wonder why? Perona is also worried. Did Moria really die? The only thing that I can reveal right now is Absalom, going by the name "Abusa", has become has been reporting a lot of big news using his "SukeSuke no Mi" - this is true. He can take many interesting photographs with that ability. His articles are very popular right now.
>> No. 31697
>>31696
Why would he reveal the Absalom thing this early? He basically just confirmed the whole Absalom saving Moria thing. Which everyone already knew about, but whatever.

>>31695
Nou kiddin'. I thought it was because of his AIDS.
>> No. 31698
>>31697

He probably did it because nobody really cares about Absalom in the first place. Oda probably figured that since nobody cares about how he's doing or what he's up to he might as well confirm his status to the single living Absalom fan on the planet.

I like confirmations like this though because now I can tell people they're factually wrong. It cuts down on arguments a little when you can just say "no, Oda said this."

Probably just the whole "Heart Seat" deal he had going on with Doflamingo.
