Come to think of it , Squall from FF8 deserves a little praise. The final villain of FF8 is a sorceress who doesn't exactly look grotesque (Adel was the ugly mannish dyke evil sorceress of the game) and despite this Squall had no issue fighting Ultimecia to the death. Even in Dissidia he still just went and kicked her ass. That's how it should be done.

Essentially Ganta pussied out and was unwilling to kill Shiro who it was revealed, remember all those innocent school kids Shiro murdered in the first chapter/episode? Turns out she committed the murders and framed Ganta to send him to prison and did it entirely on her own (she was never possessed by the "Red Man").

Despite this she is not going to pay for her crimes and the author forced Ganta to White Knight for Shiro even though she doesn't deserve it and yet Shiro is presented as a love interest/positive childhood friend. WTF with friends like that who needs enemies?
