Ok. We all know that Oda has been experiencing health problems recently and most of it can be attributed to his Hellish work schedule. In fact, the last break was due to his editors wanting him to slow down.

So I ask for the sake of Oda's health and the sake of the manga as a whole would it be better if One Piece was a Biweekly or Monthly series?
>> No. 31382
Biweekly wouldn't bother me
monthly would wear at my soul.

Neither, it's fine being weekly. Just because the man puts himself through Hell doesn't mean he has to punish his readers for it. And let's face it, with how slow his story unravels, it is punishment. It's like a drunk saying he's gonna cut down on the drinking by switching over to rubbing alcohol.

Other series can get away with monthly because they either have a very solid set run time or not a very strong following. One Piece has neither of these. If it becomes monthly, the story wouldn't be over by 2030.. then he'd just die of old age before the end.

He just needs to be more responsible with his life.

With the amount of breaks he's been taking in recent years, it might as well be biweekly anyway. I wouldn't mind if it officially became that.

For the sake of the mans health I would be fine with bi-weekly.
>> No. 31387
I wouldnt mind bi-weekly if it meant we got an extra five to ten pages per chapter. 16-20 every two weeks wouldnt give us the amount of plot payoff that would make the wait worth it. 30-35 would do better and would still be fewer pages on average a month then a weekly

Sure, it would do this or that for One Piece, but think about what that would do to Jump.

It would survive.

I love Oda's drawing, but I'm almost certain his assistant can go ahead and draw most of the comic for him. He should switch purely to a writers role like a western comic. Maybe just do colour spreads to keep his edge sharp.

Hey, Ive got a question about that: is Nishiponi (https://twitter.com/nishiponi) Oda's assistant? Because s/he draws exactly like him (i mean its uncanny) but Im pretty sure Oda has his own twitter, right? Plus Ive seen like concepts for the vol 70 cover in her/her twitpics before.

God damn
You and Fried Fishman can go eat a dick. I despise most of you so much. Because of you two I barely even come here anymore just so I can avoid your stupid dark and negative comments. You must not put any serious thigh into what you type because all that comes from you is garbage.

I usually don't like to be like this, as I find fanboys who defend everything they're a fan of as annoying, but you are truly whining like a little bitch. It's like you demand or expect that Oda does want you want.

I personally think one piece would be fine as monthly manga, even bi-weekly. I have been following Jojo's a lot longer than I followed One Piece and I am surprised how well that jojos transitioned from a weekly manga into a monthly one so smoothly, even if the translations happened months after the initial chapter release.

But then again, I don't know if One Piece could handle a monthley format.

Yeah, I don't think there's any way Jump would let it go monthly, it brings in way too much money.

Aaaw, is baby gonna be okay? You need your blood-stained diapers changed? Because that rant literally went in a complete circle and you ended up with the exact same statement I put out about it: It can't handle a monthly format. Hating is such a strong emotion, darling; relax.

Oda has admitted to smoking obscene amounts of cigarettes daily, to drinking, and to only getting a few hours of sleep every day because that's what he's used to sleeping. Absolutely zero of those things have anything to do with us as fans and readers - that's his lifestyle and a MAJOR reason he's become sickly.

You want a hug now that it's all been explained? Here, let me hug you. Sshhh, shhh. I love you.

What have I ever done besides hate jimbe4 too? Dude is hands down trolling since the inception of his name and remains unbanned for some reason. I just say stuff people don't agree with, he actively seeks your ire.

I don't think you know what those big words mean.

Also pretty sure people get banned around here for shit postings of that caliber. So somebody look into that.

(YOU'RE RIGHT, THEY DO)

I'd be fine with monthly if it was 45~ pages every update.
>> No. 31545
Yeah Oda should just do biweekly or monthly or something.

Also Jesus kids calm down, why can't we go back to the good old days of fighting over fan predictions and altverses....
>> No. 31546
Ehh, going biweekly or monthly wouldn't change who he is and his bad habits. It feels like that wouldn't actually help anything: he'd probably up his page count to compensate, and he wouldn't stop smoking or drinking or working way too long every day. It wouldn't be worse for us, but... nothing would really change.

The general thread seems to be in autosage, to beefficient maybe we should use this thread as both a general and to discuss if OP should be wwekly or monthly?
