The only problem I have with Oda's samey female faces and bodies is that it makes it pretty hard to theorize sometimes. Like, maybe Baby 5 and Violet are sisters because they look the same, or maybe they're actually the same person! But since all the chicks pretty much look the same then you can't really use that as evidence.

Oda's always had a sameface problem with women; contrary to popular belief he's not perfect. Women are not his forte, it's why they're so sparsely spread. As for the body issue, they've always had fucked up hip-to-torso ratios. However, the only thing I've noticed which seems to have gotten worse is his boob-sizes. His women used to be more moderate and varied when it came to breasts. Now after the timeskip every woman is a titcow regardless of what their body type is. Which does tend to highlight the weird body proportions. Case in point this >>30497 picture. Tashigi never has those huge boobs, she was always much more moderate and slim. But lo and behold..

He also tends to suck at coloring things and lets Toei take the front seat on that deal. So yeah, Oda has a bunch of faults.

I've had people argue with me about certain possible future plot developments because, according to them, they had been studying every volume cover since the beginning and found "hidden clues" left in them from Oda.

Maybe you're not twisting them with your completely off sided altering of them into a sentence to represent what you think I said, but if that's the case then I just used the wrong words. What I was talking about has nothing to do with critique or positive or negative comments directly or indirectly to an artist, it's the lack of objectivity in art. What's good or bad is this medium most of all is subjective to every individual that consumes it.
To tell an artist to or to say that an artist should change something because you and however many others in agreement don't like it or find it lacking or whatever, or that it should be done another way is where you can fuck off.

Changing someone's expression, in this case Oda's artwork in specific of female characters, even if it offends something good like the cease of unrealistic idealization of women, is just unacceptable. No one has a right to try to do that.

Of fucking course you can say bad things about it, you have all the rights to that. And of fucking course you can't censor comments and critique and only say good things because then you settle and grow comfortable in a form that's inherently weak because you've never faced the wrongs of it.
