It just hit me that the reason Robin, Nami, and Chopper were de-aged was because they're the only members of the crew who could still contribute. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Franky would all lose significant strength if they were younger, whereas Nami's strengths aren't physical and we saw that she could still wield the Clima-Tact. Chopper could still access all his Points (I would've liked to see Babby Heavy Point, or Babby Monster Point for that matter) and Robin was old enough to not lose a great deal of physical strength when brought down to 18 years old.

Franky deaged could probably still contribute, but the logistics of the regression fruit on a cyborg seem... tricky. Also yes, Brook COMPLETELY redeems the sexified growback scene. Really he's practically the star crewmate of this film, which is great since he was too new to do much in Strong World.

You can't really compare Kizaru's dimness to Luffy's outright stupidity. All Luffy wants to do is eat and adventure recklessly with no regard to culture or history or anything more sensible than meat is concerned. At least Kizaru is grounded in reality and seems to have a deeper understanding of the things going on around him.. even if he still can't work a den den mushi.

But Garp wasn't clever enough to hide that he was letting his grandson go from the superiors, he breaks down walls and whines about building them back up, and he acts on a personal justice just like his grandson. They're extremely alike, with Garp only slightly having more of a head on his shoulders. Dragon's the odd one out in that he actually seems to act like an adult.
Hell, the G-5 Marines are formed explicitly out of troops who have no wit, maturity or good sense of justice. Each one of them is just as bad as any pirate, just happening to be on the side of law and service.
