Lines drawn in the sand, godmodding bitch doctors, and one more Yonko to add to the pissed-off list.

kind of a boring ish

something tells me everybody is going to be long gone by the time Doflamingo and mysterious seagull man show up
>> No. 29947

What exactly were you expecting? More fighting? Doflamingo showing up with Shanks, Crocodile and the ghost of Whitebeard to start a free-for-all brawl there? The three main opponents were taken down last week; the logical conclusion now would be wrapping up. Punk Hazard has gone on long enough.

Mind you, I'm really not a fan of these obligatory end-of-arc parties --we had one in the very last arc -- but I would like ANY sort of confrontation with Doflamingo now even less. He needs to get there by the time everyone is gone; it's what would make sense.

And we're back to Caribou's kehihihi in the Caribbean new world

That was kind of a hard read.

I think denouement was necessary after all the high-stakes shit that went down in this arc. This chapter was a little too neat, but it's obvious that Oda left room to explain how Mr. Samurai & son recovered.

But whether Donflamingo drops by for the party or not, he'll be left shaking his fist at the Strawhats. And considering that last arc ended with Big Mom shaking her fist at the Strawhats, I wonder if Luffy will spend the next two arcs systematically ticking off the remaining two Yonkou. Would be hilarious if he does.

In the cover I'm guessing that's kaido's picture in the speech bubble? It makes sense because that island does belong to kaido. Also the translations suck big time, the worst I have ever read. The chapter itself was great, just exactly what One piece is about.

That rage comic at page 22 gave me cancer.

Nami's bit about Bellemere was my favorite part of this chapter.

It's better.
Damn good chapter when the translation's saying the right things. Law's fruit really does make him a miracle worker.

Good chapter. I really liked the bit with Nami and Bellemere.

Also, just wait until a decent translation, guys. Bad translations just ruin chapters for me...

It's kinda shitty that Kinemon is alright

Thriller Bark didn't have an opponent that was on the way there - Kuma had been on the island with a mission for a while. It took Baby 5 and Buffalo about ten chapters to get there via flying; Doflamingo is hopping along the ocean. Why would he be there in one chapter? And what would a fight between them even accomplish? The only person Doflamingo will most likely get to interact with is that new seagull man when everyone is gone.

>>29950
I doubt it, since we saw it on the last cover when he was wondering about the port. Just seems to be a little.. special Caribou question mark he does when he's confused. He's an idiot; I doubt he even knows where he is.

Bellemere~

Even if Nami's weak against them it wouldn't hurt to see more awesome Marine women... (There's criminally little fanart of her around)

I'm noticing a distinct lack of brick-shatting moments that I know Oda so well for... I really hope he has something good planned soon, because this whole arc and the fishman island arc were largely disappointing. Boring even... He'd better have something good soon!

I don't mind. I mean they didn't even make a big deal of his death, it just kind of happened off-screen

although the animu will probably stretch it out

Caribou's New World is probably the worst and least necessary cover arc ever. Caribou was a bad guy, he has no kind of Buggy/Crocodile/Baroque Works members charm, and we're not seeing anything important at all in a different place. It's not even serving as a good second story in that regard. Could be just that I don't remember them, but who the hell is that old lady, who's Captain Gabule, who cares?

Kinemon being turned into stone off screen was stupid. Brooke breaking him and him coming back to life all fine from under there is stupider. What's the fucking explanation for this shit? His Nipmagic allows him to totally debase one of the bigger tension building threats? To put his own body back together after being crumbled to pieces and not breathing for hours? And why is Momonosuke a human now? Did he suddenly discover the rest of his Devil Fruit? And if so, why didn't his clothes follow the same rules as they do for the rest of the fruits?

Oh, here's Law. He's fucking capable of cutting better than Zoro, doctoring better than Chopper, beating people they couldn't and wearing more makeup than Nami and Robin combined.

Nami's got an Elektra complex. Cute part of the chapter and good, finally some more character to character development. Usopp and Nami are good foils. Could definitely use more interaction.

Best part of the chapter is Sanji though. Newkama Kenpou Vital 99, not putting up with Momo's prideful bullshit about to waste food, giant spoons and salt shakers.

He was already naked when he was a dragon.

Caribou is currently on an island that either used to or currently belongs to Kaido. Kaido is a guy who is pretty important to the current arc! The person who should care is you, because at this point it's obvious to everyone that Oda is using Caribou's cover to sneakily set some things up.

Didn't feel like reading the rest of your post! Have a good evening!
>> No. 29978
>>29975
Uh. I'd hold those reservations about Caribou's cover story until it was at least done. I would agree that it is pointless if the character itself wasn't so important to the overall events that are currently transpiring. Did you forget the information he knows? Did you forget who he's trying to find and tell said information to?
He could have easily been captured or killed and been completely wasted, but instead he's going on his own little adventures to places (like this Kaido island) that we're most likely going to be at sooner or later. I'd say some other stuff like Hatchan's Seafloor Stroll were much more useless, and even that introduced us to characters (who at the time may have seemed useless) like Camie, Pappug and Macro long before they were properly introduced. You should know Oda better than that by now.. so shame on you.

It's Fried Fishman. You don't need to respond.
No idea what's going on with Caribou's cover arc, there's a lot of false conclusions. I really don't know what the end is supposed to be now.

Yeah he's trying to tell "Joker" something. Someone who's now run across the ocean somewhere else so he's likely not going to see him.
And no, I forgot what he's going to tell him.

Wait, I remember, that Mertits Princess is Ancient Weapon. Yeah, because he's been shown so much to be interested in that lost time and the AWs. We all know that's Doflamingo's gimmick.

I don't believe its been revealed what they are up to, but we saw them in a fairly recent colourspread with new jumpsuits alongside everyone who's involved with the storyline so I assume they are alive.

He's 2cool4friends. He's obviously been hurt before and has a hard time trusting people outside of using them for his own goals. A lone wolf that can only be tamed by the love of a fat otaku girl.

Law left Bepo in charge while he undertook his big secret mission. That turned out to be a bad idea as Bears have no sense of direction. They have been lost at sea for months...

is he too cute/edgy/bleachy or is it just resentment over girls fawning over a one piece character the way guys fawn over robin/nami?
>> No. 30014

It's pretty much entirely one or two guys who dislike him and talk about nothing else, which makes it sound like there's a lot of hate. The ones I've heard complaining about him on this board seem to be almost entirely motivated by him getting female attention, though.

You're pretty delusional, bro. I personally know a few people who hate the character, too. I also know for a fact there's a sizable group who don't like him over on AP forums.

As for why I don't like him, it has less to do with "hurr fangirls" and more to do with the fact he's really bland and uninteresting in my eyes. Ever since he was introduced he's been overly hyped and has had zero pay off other than "woooah he cut dat bulding in half - so kewl."
