Yeah, they're not. The dreamy kids book style crayon outline type of art is really overdone at this point. Blame lies on the popularity of Tumblr hugboxes exposing more people to more things to draw inspiration from and copy and the overall hipness of the latest feely folksy wave.
I guess calling me a hipster isn't far from truth, since the startling abundance of red cute nose doodles has dropped it from hip as it used to be and I no longer like it. Though I think that's just coincidence of me seeing a lot of it and getting tired of it at the same time as it going out of style.

I actually think the style used in >>31041 is actually rather serviceable and pleasant, even if outline-less, pastel-y doodles are a bit overdone.
I mean, it probably took all of a half hour to draw, and I'd say that the doodle market is at least as saturated with 30 minute pencil sketches as of this kind of thing.
Could do without the swirly knees, though.

With Luffy seemingly being Roger's physical clone and them both owning the same strawhat I wonder if Luffy will hook up with a girl when he's a MAN and have a sprog (May or may not include dying in some inspirational fashion).

Oda is a massive fanboy towards Toriyama who handled romance in the same way, through timeskips and offscreen, for similar reasons, that he stated he was incapable of writing romance (though hell relationships mostly happened in DBZ just to provide new primary characters from the children spawned anyway, any romance was mostly secondary)

They do it using 'Image Bases'.
Basically someone take a picture in this case one of two OP characters, often one already romantic but of a different couple, then they reduce one down to a doll with no features allowing a bunch of other people to come in and redraw this doll into their character to make it into their own romance.
Its basically the next step above simply recolouring an image.
It creeps me out whenever I come across these bases which unfortunately seems to be alot now.
