So...Meatface was able to knock out all the post-timeskip Strawhats along with Smoker with his Haki effortlessly and only targetting them from where he currently is underground? It seems a little too dbz-ish powerlevels if that is the case, Does that mean this guy is far stronger than stuff like Admirals? It's not like they could KO Luffy with a thought during the war when his powers weren't even trained.

I just want to know the details because its coming across as boring old shounen powerlevels if it isn't a particular special ability.

What? How in the hell did you get to this conclusion? The one fighting the Strawhats on the surface is Caesar Clown. And I'm willing to bet my balls that he knocked them out with his sleeping gas powers. Which we've already seen in use before and is the same thing that happened to Zoro, Sanji and Brook. But people seem to forget things after more than one week. This Virgo man had nothing to do with taking them down, he only beat Law in a separate setting.

Why are you replying to >>26769 ?
>> No. 26774
It's actually up in the air who beat the strawhats. Luffy got knocked out at the same time Law did and Luffy was pretty confident that the gas wouldn't affect him. And up until that point, it didn't. So, for all we know, virgo knocked out everyone who wasn't on Ceasar's side.

Also, The cool Yeti brothers went down waaaay to easy. Anyone else think they'll be back?
>> No. 26776
>>26774
How do you people come to these insane conclusions? Seriously. Luffy is fighting Caesar Clown, Clown uses attack on him, Luffy staggers around then falls, Caesar laughs.. and it turns out the one who beat Luffy is a random man miles away underground? How does that make any sort of sense? And it's pretty apparent Velgo is not on Caesar's side, hence whoever he's working for "not trusting him" and putting a spy in his ranks.

Clown has the GAS GAS fruit. He is capable of using many diffident types of gasses; the only reason it didn't affect Luffy at first is because he was using poison gas. Why would he not use something else that does take them down while seemingly leaving them untouched. Like the sleeping gas that was used earlier. GASP!

But no, too much nonsense. It was nuclear haki from random man they don't even know.
>> No. 26777
>>26776
Luffy shows immunity to the gases, then suddenly just as Law goes down he mysteriously goes down too. Then the other Strawhats go down just as mysteriously, despite everyone around knowing about the sleeping gas. There's nothing stating it's haki, but it's pretty damn weird. If it WAS sleeping gas, why did it take so long to affect Luffy and why did none of Caesar's men figure out that he used it against the crew?
>> No. 26778
>>26777
I don't remember conqurer's haki making someone bleed, which Law started to do immediately.

When Luffy went down, Ceasar gloated that he took him too lightly and his surbordinates cheered that this was his power, which leads me to believe it was his doing.
>> No. 26779
>>26777
Law went down in a completely different kind of mysterious way than Luffy, note. The latter gets put to sleep, the former keels over because of what looks like chronic heart pain. We can't even be sure if Meatface Guy has anything to do with it because it all looks like Law's own dirty deeds catching up with him.

Why did Law say he couldn't act against Caesar Clown directly? Who was mentioned to have bought his Shichibukai spot from the WG with the hearts of his own crew? Who do we know is capable of heart voodoo in the first place? I'd wager this is all got to do with whatever arrangement Law had with the parts of the WG doing the shady weapons experiments. Law had to open some kind of vulnerability to the WG as insurance, and now they've just come to collect. I can't see it as some new guy laying a superpowered smackdown on Law.

And Luffy is of course acting reasonably based on an accurate assessment of his opponent's powers because he isn't known to be completely reckless or anything.

Whatever took down Law most likely has something to do with this panel. I just know it. Don't ask me what it is, but definitely related to this.

Also, notice Luffy doesn't actually go down until he comes close to Caesar and touches him. He did so earlier, but that caught CC off-guard. By the second time, Clown knew he was immune to poison.

I might have remembered wrong. But if that's the case, there is all the more reason he needed to offer a weakness of his own as collateral.

Monet double crossing Law and doing something to him right there in that passageway is also perfectly likely, I admit.

This arc is like taking crazy pills
>> No. 26784
>>26783
It really is.

Fishman Island's problem is that it didn't have too much substance; very linear and simple. Sometimes too simple.
Then we immediately jump into a clusterfuck of new characters, each with their own mysterious deals and stories, and we just keep getting more and more questions with every new chapter. It almost feels like Oda's trying way too hard to impress us with the New World. Like.. looking back, what was the point of stuff like the dragon other than a cheap way to semi-introduce Kinemon? And the Cool Brothers? What the hell is up with them? I trust Oda, but it just seems like he's packed way too much random shit with completely different elements into an arc that really shouldn't be getting this long.

When they were fighting the dragon, it talked about the tenryuubito as an enemy. This was actually Kinemon, who was pissed at Law for chopping him up. He can speak by farting.

The dragon was a biological experiment made by Vegapunk. It technically belongs to Caesar at this point.

I don't think so, but let's look back at what we DO know:
- Caesar has a "mass murdering weapon"
- Law needed the aid of another doctor for where he was headed
- He tells Chopper he has "a certain problem preventing him" from going deeper into Clown's base
- He deliberately left Chopper behind to go on ahead once he sees Monet is alone without Clown
- He needed Monet's "ability", which can be anything from her actual powers to her knowledge in something he's looking for
- Monet acts surprised at Law being in pain, but quickly smiles when she sees Velgo
- Law, Monet and Velgo all seem to be there while working for someone else who's interested in Clown's drugs or weapons

I'm still under the impression Law is being forced to do all this. They either have his crew held somewhere, or even his literal heart. "They" being either the World Government, or Doflamingo (popular fan theory), or even another Emperor. We know Big Mom likes her "treats" and Kaido is interested in weapons/technology. This panel also leads me to believe Joker may not even be a person, but the weapon itself.. Though Caesar said he "talked" to him earlier.. so I dunno.

>>26796
They're.. yeti, dude. It's in their name. And the dragon was genetically engineered by Vegapunk once he ran the island. A random Tenryuubito was apparently a fan of the dragon. Not sure if that'll lead to something or was just meaningless background info.

Hold up.. Isn't Momonosuke his son? Why is he talking to him right here as if he's there? Could "his son" be.. the sword he finally rescued?

No. Because they talk about going to the lab to rescue him in the next panel.

The fact we haven't seen or even heard of this kidnapped son at all from anyone else other than Kinemon raises all sorts of red flags, though.

Virgo's hand changes colour the same way Luffy's does when he uses Haki. Do only certain people do this? Also, was it necessary? Law isn't a logia.
>> No. 26827
>>26825
I fucking detest haki and how Oda seems to think it's the next evolutionary level and the only thing that runs the world of One Piece now. It was okay when it was a background thing that took second billing to devil fruits and pure strength, but now EVERYTHING is about haki and everyone uses it. It reeks of DBZ and general shounen bullshit he should be above doing. It also seems to be turning the fanbase completely retarded when you keep hearing every argument or discussion end in "IT WAS HAKI!"

What happened to the threat and danger of random devil fruit powers and their interaction? Imagine how boring Luffy vs. Crocodile would have been if Luffy knew about haki. Because that's what the New World is shaping up to look like if he keeps going down this road where the answer to everything is "woop, haki!"

You bring up a good point; there really was no reason for him to use haki on Law other than for the sake of using haki to use haki. It's overused and becoming played out very quickly. "HO! Let me use haki to see underwater and find the samurai's torso!" .. Or you could just.. y'know, use your eyes. Wouldn't be any less believable than you holding your breath for 10 minutes underwater.
>> No. 26828
>>26827

you know it only bypasses defenses and doesn't negate the power right? A logia could still dodge by making a hole in his body or in Croco-boy's case he could simply grab the haki'd hand and suck the liquid out of it. Haki isn't an "I win" button it's an ability to let Oda use more creative powers against the strawhats without having to think up a weakness for each one beforehand.
>> No. 26829
>>26825
I imagine it was to make the hit more powerful, like how the Kuja use haki to stregthen their arrows.
>> No. 26832
>>26827
It only does three things. People are guessing he used haki because it was one of the three things haki does, it could easily be a devil fruit as well. The only slightly unnecessary use was observation haki which let Sanji see in three hundred sixty degrees direction. Monet is mysterious because of a devil fruit. Caesar Crown has a devil fruit. The centaurs are from a devil fruit. The biological monsters are just there. This isn't like That One Series where one aspect dominated everything else.

He looks like an average generic Joe from shonen shows. I think I've seen a few guys in Bleach that look similar (from what little I have seen of Bleach). I'm guessing the meat on his face was Oda's way of trying to make him stand out more, cause in a sea on uniqueness, he looks pretty lackluster.
