Shiiiit. I didn't even know there was going to be a new season until a couple weeks ago. I thought I had another couple weeks to set up a recording.

Can I just skip season four? I stopped watching when Harmon was kicked out.

Season 4 has some good episodes but it's a really weird sit overall.

The consensus seems to be that you should watch the Freaky Friday episode that Dean Pelton wrote, at the very least. Maybe the finale, too, just so you know where they are when the new season starts.

How often do season premiers happen on January 2nd?

I mean, quality of the episode aside, January 2nd is maybe the shittiest day to premiere anything.

The Big Bang Theory started a new season that day, so you can already guess how much of an impact that had on Community.

Gotta say, this season is an absolute riot. I didn't hate S4, but after S4 this is both refreshing and invigorating.

Wow, they aren't holding back on how terrible Brita is at all this season.

I'm still hoping it can avoid death for one more season. Come on Harmon, pull that and then all you've got left is the movie.

There's reason to be optimistic. Ratings are (marginally) up from last year. And they're about the same as Parks & Rec's which already has a tentative renewal. It also helps that like last year the rest of NBC's comedy line-up has crashed and burned.

If the numbers stay where they are and Dan hasn't been an asshole (okay, that's impossible. If he hasn't been less of an asshole) they regret rehiring, season 6 should be a go.
