See, I thought that would have been a much better ending to the first movie if, after he saved his daughter, he had to go into hiding because of all the people he made angry. It had a nice kind of poetry to it; his old life is what initially drove his wife and daughter away from him, and then when his old life brings them together again, he still has to stay away.

Also, I thought Liam Neson was retiring from action movies because of some lingering leg injury or something.

I just wanna see Liam kicking serious ass. Hell I'd even watch "Taken 7: My dog has been kidnapped", just as long as Liam was in it!

I am not entirely sure if I understand how going into hiding would deter tha bad people from taking revenge on his family. If anything he would want to stick around even closer.

By that logic every action star would be fucked. I mean, in one movie they kill like, dozens of bad guys. Have they no idea that these bad guys have parents, wives, children? Don't they have to pay for the massive property damage caused by explosions and car chases? Jesus, how can people like these sleep at night?

I just hope Liam Neeson will use the exact same quote as in the first movie.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my ex-wife go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Again."

How about
>"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you keep my ex-wife, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. You can have my mother-in-law, too. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Again."

Lenore.

Her name is Lenore.

You know why?

The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.

That's right, even her NAME is intended to remind you of squawking crows.

Well, it's actually supposed to point out Brian's Didacticism and undying devotion which is the central them of both The Raven and Taken, BUT FUUUUUUUUUUUCK HER AS A CHARACTER.

I get a feeling that the people behind the Taken franchise have this agenda to make women stop traveling. Or at least state they have no sense of memory with a family that recently had their daughter stolen by Arabs - in Paris of all places - to not think visiting fucking Istanbul is a bad idea.

I just imagined Liam Neeson punching people to the tune of They Might Be Giants' cover of "Istanbul, Not Constantinople."

(I think I've been watching too many of Obscurus Lupa's American Ninja reviews.)

So I'm gonna take that you haven't seen The Grey or read Ghost Walker, the story it's based on or heard the tag line of the movie "Once more into the fray...
Into the last good fight I'll ever know.
Live and die on this day...
Live and die on this day..."

Liam Neeson: destroyer of Wolves was awesome.
>Dat final scene where he duct tapes his weapons and goes toe to toe with the final boss.

Uh, spoilers?
You know, I had a dream about a Taken 2.
It involved very little taking though.
It was more them trying to take her and her being much better at not being taken.
A motorcycle chase may have been involved?
>> No. 35421

What spoilers? He gears up and fights the final boss. That's the plot of about 99% of all action movies.

Friend had an idea I liked for Taken 3: Liam Neeson is in trouble himself this time around, and his daughter saves his life because it's an adaption of Fallout 3. Although I heard you can make a good case for Book of Eli being a good adaption of Fallout already.

Obviously the next one is going to be Taken: Tag Tournament,
or The Street Fighter X Taken.

Watched it. What a tiremendous disappointment It's basically the same movie as before, excpet it fails at every level. I didn't catch the director's name, but the fucker should be hanged by the balls. Goddamn

I admit I chortled at that. Although a game where you play as Liam Neeson would be pretty kickass.

All this talk about Taken made me want to watch Taken again, but it's not there anymore.
I didn't realize Netflix streaming had an ephemeral nature to it.

Liam Neeson and Daughter Destroy Istambul was pretty cool, I thought.

"Listen carefully: Your mom and I are gonna be taken. Here's what I need you to do: you're going to blow up half of Istambul. We're gonna be on the other half. Trust me, I know what we're doing."

Also I jelly of Liam Neeson's hair there.

Forgot to comment, I didn't watch the whole first one, but didn't get what's -so- hateful about the wife in this one. If anything, the "At least my daughter is alive" moment made me snicker.
