Goes like this:
Wily tries to one up Light by making a better Mega Man/Proto Man via Bass. (My Forte)
Sentience unfortunately comes with it, and while a lethal enforcer, and arrogant in his superiority, he comes to realize how alone he is as his uniqueness also isolates him from the cold, thoughtless automatons that populate Wily's army. (Above the Line)
Bass chances upon a broken, destitute Light. He then demands that Thomas build him a companion, an equal, with which to fight the coldness of his existence ala Frankenstein (the Bride demand from the original story). (Gold and Blue)
Light complies by creating Roll, who Bass excitedly brings to his quarters in the innermost chambers of Wily's castle. He realizes too late, his elation blinding his senses, that Light has installed a veritable nuke in this beautiful creature. Bass knows that he can disable it by destroying Roll right then and there, but her innocence and warm demeanor stop him. They tenderly embrace as the bomb detonates, destroying the castle and Wily too. (A Trick of the Light)
Light admires his handiwork from the distance, unsure of what to feel when Rock comes into the picture. He expresses distaste in what Light did, going so far as to say that since the people did nothing to get rid of Wily on their own, then history is doomed to repeat itself. Light is too broken and tired to care, telling a departing Rock that he now knows what it feels like to lose a brother. (Ashes to Dust)
The album closes with a heavily damaged Bass, wandering the earth. He muses that Wily built him a little too well and is bitter of having survived and outlived Roll. Though ostensibly going on to find one final battle to end his life (preferably against Mega Man), he takes comfort in the fact that for one, brief, priceless moment in time, he knew what it felt like to love and be loved. Memories of which he will continue to cherish and recall till his final hour. (Roll Credits)
That's my idea, just putting it out there.
Unfortunately, one of the Protomen has expressed a heavy dislike for the character, so we might not see him in any future albums.
