I remember a time when there was nothing I wanted from Homestuck more than for Vriska to come back to life. And now that there's a chance, I just don't feel it anymore.

You don't care because death has no meaning in homestuck. You already have Vriska in the dream world, and now the prospect of a ring that returns life just doubly negates it.

It doesn't matter to anyone whether or not she can come back to life because she's not coded as dead in the first place. There are very little ramifications to being "dead" here because she can still interact with everyone and have adventures and shit, and she still makes appearances in the story where she talks and does stuff. The only consequence is that now she has white eyes.

The countless safety nets that prevent characters from actually dying that exist in Homestuck also cheapen the grief of living characters. Like Terezi's lament about killing Vriska is tarnished because actually she can just fucking walk up to Vriska and talk it out and tell her she's sorry. There's nothing preventing her from doing that.

It's not entirely nothing in that they're stuck outside of the sessions/universes proper, not that that matters now that floating around in the furthest ring is now apparently where higher level stuff happens anyway. I figured they'd be kept back by the arbitrary limits of the bubbles in some other way, like a special dungeon somehow repelling bubbles or being spiky and popping any that get near, or the focus of the comic actually returning the things happening inside the sessions, but so far that hasn't happened. Honestly, though, it's not like they even need the ring to come back to life for real. Just captchalogue an image of them and spend the giant pile of grist needed to make a replacement body, then summon their ghost to inhabit it.

The constant escalation and introduction of new characters even in the "endgame" chapters is something that is present in a lot of shonen manga. Unwillingness to permanently write out old characters to make room for new characters is also a thing that happens a lot, leading to a hugely bloated cast. Both of these things tend to affect the structure and quality of the story negatively and are often the result of the author not having a clear idea of where he wants the story to go. The lack of editing and direction have really been catching up with Homestuck lately. Yes, I know it is a problem intrinsic to the format, because it is impossible for him to go back to edit out or change significant portions of his story. That doesn't mean it's not a glaring, festering issue and a huge disadvantage to serial updating works in general, it just means it's a glaring, festering issue he can't fix at this point. Which really sucks.

I wonder what earlier parts he would have cut out or changed, given the chance. I know he says he wouldn't because it is exactly the way he wanted it, but I also think that's a big fat lie.

I don't think we really know what happens to characters who die outside of the game, but from Vriska's explanation of why getting the doomed timeline ghosts doubled killed is acceptable to her, it seems that non-players just don't end up in the outer ring at all. Aradia's case is a bit odd, as she had ghost-related troll powers in addition to being destined to take part in Sgrub. It might be that being a sprite could allow Arquius to just go and posses a robot body by flying into it, but in that case they might not be separable by something as easy as taking the robo-glasses off the robo-troll.

I actually was looking forward to seeing a relatively underpowered character wriggle through obstacles for a bit, just like I enjoyed seeing the one Jack mess around in Prospit's jail. The weapon, I think, had enough time as to build up a sense of mystery considering how late it started even being hinted at in the first place. Maybe we can see it for a few pages and then switch back to in front of the ship.
Also, our salamancer could possibly have avoided aging via dark magics and/or spending much of her journey in people's inventory space, which presumably puts one in some kind of stasis.

The only one who would be in danger in this scenario would be Karkat as he's a mutant and bears the sign of one of the )(IC's most hated opponents. The most valuable person there other than the godtiers would be Kanaya because of her caste--assuming that this is all part of )(IC's plan to revive the troll race.

Whether Vriska's death was Just or not is not a relevant, the clock was admittedly the thing that decided whether a death was Just or Heroic and thus not eligible for revival. The sentence you highlighted is pointing out how stupid it is to have a device that could impartially judge such a thing (essentially telling the reader "this person's death was just" instead of letting the reader debate and come to their own conclusion), but that WAS its purpose within confines of the comic before it was destroyed by the Crowbar. With it broken, Vriska's death never got an official judgment, so she stayed dead. I would think that would mean any God Tier deaths should also be subject to that kind of result. The only answer I can think of that makes sense is that the timeline of John dying and Vriska dying is not as linear as we would believe, and that Vriska died to Terezi after John had been stabbed by Jack Noir. Technically, we don't know how long it took Terezi to run into Vriska, and the comic itself has been notoriously nonlinear in its presentation of events in the past.

We know Vriska's death wasn't heroic, so the only open question was weather it was Just or not, and I saw the destruction of the clock (interpreting its role as arbiter of such matters) as a way of going "guess we'll never know now, readers~!" lending fuel to the various Vriska morality debates that occur in the fandom. But what you say is also true: why would you introduce a mechanic (God Tier's can't die unless the death was Just or Heroic) if it was only going to be used once before being rendered defunct by the destruction of the clock.

Clearly what we need to do is kill off some more God Tiers and see what happens.

She hasn't sized up the planets and battlefield from the old session yet, and as far as I know there's no other way to make this session winnable than her doing so, and I can't imagine we're going to spend this long on the story and then have them fail to create the new Universe.

I guess it's possible that when she dies her space warping magic all comes undone, but I doubt it. It didn't seem like it was something she was having to put any effort into maintaining during the Yellow Yard.
