Where's the fourth one, now? Shame on you.

Although this one doesn't seem as good as the other three awesome ones.

Rose does nothing
>> No. 69536
>>69516
Eh, her power might not be flashy, but it's ridiculously useful. There's that whole "play the rain" thing, whatever that is, and I could definitely see her become a grand conductor in the final battle, directing and coordinating her friends; a Seer of Light and a Knight of Time were said to be an almost unbeatable duo, after all.

Oh and she might possibly still have her magic, Hussie conveniently side-stepped the answer to that question earlier, which hints that she might still have it. After all, if she didn't have it any longer, why not just tell us?
>> No. 69540
>>69536
That is because Dave does all the heavy lifting. Hell, in any team up Rose would do very little, outside of setting up the right point for a combo. Dave, Jade, and John are all better hitters than she is.

What part of "seers have a very important job, strategists and intel seekers are v. important" do you not understand?
>> No. 69557
>>69540
Yeah, but that was sort of, well, the point. Her role isn't to deal damage, it's to co-ordinate her friends and their abilities to reach the most favourable outcome.

Which, I guess, is why I think it's strange that Hussie is being weird and not telling us about whether she still can use magic. While she won't ever be as strong as the other B1 kids, her power was comparable to that of pre-Scratch John in terms of pure damage output, which is just enough to make a difference if Hussie decides to go with it... but at the same time, she seems to have almost completely outgrown that phase and is settling in very nicely in her new role as a passive player.
>> No. 69562
I would imagine she can still use magic, though I can't be certain obviously. Supposedly she was just using her own innate abilities with the wands as a literally magic feather, right? So in theory, she should retain those abilities regardless of embracing her destiny as a Hero of Light.

Either way, she's definitely still got some Fraymotifs she can access, since she's part of combos with each of the others. If nothing else, I would think she would be able to increase the others' damage output.
>> No. 69563
I don't think she would have magic.
Or at least, not the same magic skills she had before reaching god tier. With the Thorns and under the sway of the Horrerterrors Rose was perverting her place as a Seer. Now reaching god teir she has embraced the role she was destined to play.

Like when you go from being a paladin to a blackguard. You have to restat your character as a blackguard. You may be the same level, and still be a devine knight; but power wise you are different.
>> No. 69564
Why the fuck would she be given magic in the first place then? What was the point of introducing that element at all?

>UU: player abilities may also manifest in ways in defiance with their aspects if they are heavily resistant to their trUe calling. or, if corrUpted in some way by an oUtside inflUence.

The point of giving Rose "magic" only for her to discard it once she accepted her role as a Seer was probably to create precedent for a similar thing happening to another character - but for a longer time and with graver effects on the plot.

That, or to give us a preview of voidy abilities from a character other than Horsefucker McGee.
>> No. 69587
>>69564
For one, her character arc. She had to explore the depths of Void and her unresolved problems (trust issues, recklessness, suicidal selflessness, her relationship with Mom) before she could emerge as a full-fledged Seer of Light. All classes seem to have their own personality problem that they have to overcome (Knights putting up a façade, for one), but Rose's issues were quite different from those of Terezi and Kankri, so it's only natural she didn't go through the same process.

As for whether she still has it or not, Scratch more or less confirmed that the magic was hers and that the Thorns were just tools to channel it, likely giving it Void-y properties in the process, so it's possible she might have some more Light-orientated majyyckz. It was heavily implied that B2!Mom had some sort of power in addition to her Vision Omnifold, but since she didn't use them against Fieri they might not have manifested offensively.

I guess it also introduced us to the concept of White Magic, which is a Hope thing that seems to be a part of defeating English. Cronus had it, Eridan had it, Jake might get it.

I like how all these animations incorporate the characters' associated classical elements.
I mean, wind is obvious for John but it's still creative.

I thought Scratch saying the wands weren't inherently magical meant that they were more like signal flares to the Horrorterrors, asking them to intervene in a situation. So this was partly insurance for them, because if Rose used the wands against them they could just deny the request.
At least thats how I took it?

>What would you say if I said a reserved girl enamored by what dwelt in shadow was selected by the horrorterrors for service, and did their bidding at every step while convinced of her own autonomy?
>> No. 69600

Basically, the Horrorterrors are providing her with magic. Since she wasn't aware of it, she couldn't use it before alchemizing the Thorns, which helped her channel the power. But she could presumably accomplish the same feats without them, provided she has the favour of the Horrorterrors.

>ROSE: It takes precision and timing to reach your destination out here, and most importantly, the grace of the gods themselves.
The horrorterrors are still relying on them to defeat English, and are helping them by guiding the ship and linking together the dreambubbles. If Rose needs to use magic in a moment that is crucial to the continuation of existence, I don't think they'd turn her down.

>> No. 69607

Eh, I don't know about that. Looking back at her journey with the knowledge that the Horrorterrors aren't allied with English (as we sort of were led to believe), it's pretty clear to me that the corrupter and deceiver was Scratch, not the gods. They gave her access to their powers, helped her reset a doomed timeline and informed her that someone was killing them and gave some vague clues as to how they should find their way to the spot where the Green Sun would be created, but otherwise they didn't interact with her all that much. Her attempt at gaining knowledge of their allegiances might have made her go grimdark, but it was Scratch who led her down that path and it was he who orchestrated the grand deception that was the Green Sunsplosion. And, as I said, since then they have actually been helping them along the way. They are guiding the meteor through the Void and helping both the dead and the living out by moving the bubbles. They might have tricked and used Rose, but their intentions likely weren't malicious and she sure doesn't seem to hold it against them. And since she's the one who knows stuff, I think she realizes this too.

Well, on the one hand, Ministrife sort of proved that God Tier outfits are really malleable--witness Meenah's cycling through alternate Thief designs--but they all retained the Life color schema, so I'm not sure that indicates that Caliborn would be allowed to totally change the whole basic design of his God Tier.

Then again, he did vow to paint everything with his sister's blood! And the Overcoat is brilliant fucking lime, like a lot of shit he owns. Doesn't explain the rainbow stuff, though. Or the object duality, what the hell is UP with the object duality. None of the other Players have exhibited object duality items, only the Midnight Crew and the cherubs, IIRC, and out of all the dual objects the Cairo Overcoat is the most flagrant in nature, given its incredible powers.

Maybe it's his God Tier infused with the appropriate juju(s)?

BLUH. Have a God Tier Karkat to get things back on track.

Calliope told Dirk that he could modify his god tier outfit if he wanted to, Meenah's alterations and probably Rose's dress just confirmed it. I'm guessing they have the default outfits, but if it fits the aspect's color scheme the hero can wear a different design.
