Oh my god, that Midnight Crew acapella is fucking great. Some of the pauses are just a bit too long though.

Vol. 8 is fucking fab.
Right at Frog Forager it gets into full blow Earthbound-stuck and rides it through to the end.
Ocean Stars Falling? Oh shit nig. Powerful stuff.
Essentially the entire album is composed of new stuff and that's great. As much as I like Doctor remixes, some new blood does this comic justice.
I give it an A, might just be one of my most favorite albums ever. Right next to 1,4,5,6,Alterniabound, and Mobius Trip and Hadron Kaliedo.

>You might have noticed I've scaled back the frequency of music releases somewhat. It was becoming sort of intense getting one or more albums ready for release every month. It also did start to feel like maybe just a little bit too much music coming at you all the time. I'd like to make sure the novelty of these doesn't deteriorate too quickly. Yeah, without Indigo Archer and Purple Tyrant, the first side was a little bland for my tastes (Fuchsia Ruler excepted).

The second has a handful of pretty good songs though, and Olive Rogue is great.

I prefer Side 1 marginally. Was also really disappointed to hear that many of the tracks were intended for completely different characters (Gold Pilot; Bec, Gold Mage; Dirk, Cobalt Thief; Serenity).

Oh man I do fucking love Temporal Shenanigans. Vocals and Homestuck have never mixed well for me (still recovering from the massive shock of "NEIGH" and "Make her a member of the midnight crew" jesus christ), and Bronze Page was "Wait vocals what? Wait what is she saying oh it's over", and Your Universe is a too freeform at times for me, but I can still appreciate the Drawing Dead vibes I get from it. Temporal Shenanigans is a musical-esque number combined with my love for Aradia and a really great voice for her that just make this perfect mix.

It's best known for a certain distinctive piano refrain that shows up in at least six places: The very end of Descend, the beginning and middle of Umbral Ultimatum ([S] Jade: Enter), the very end of Eternity's Shylock, and some really subtle bits in Black Rose, Green Sun ([S] Seer: Descend) and Black Hole, Green Sun (the end of Cascade). You'll recognize it instantly if you go listen to all that stuff.

Anyway, some people asked Radiation if it had a name and he said it was from a song he never finished. He's been teasing us with it ever since.

There are other bits of melody in the same song that also get referenced sometimes, but only the music team would be able to point those out.

The titles are confusing me. Haven't listened yet, but my assumption is these are reworked/redone versions of the originals.

The first and last are new music that mixes together a bunch of leitmotifs from famous/flash songs. The second and third tracks are remixes.

So I'm pleased with the originals here and Serenade is once again quite good. Could have sworn I heard a bit of something in it. Another song.

Now for Sarabande, I have to say I honestly prefer the original. This refined version is very good and rightly so, however it has this planned aesthetic to it. The original had a sort of sincere feeling to it, like it was made right on the fly by some down piano player in their studio alone, or a bar after three in the morning. It feels unrefined and I think it works well for it. Both give me the same feelings of either sad-sad or happy-sad moments, but they give me different feelings on the execution behind them.

Regardless, Sarabande is a damn good piece and I like all versions of it, including that one with the lyrics that Ashley what's her face made. Good album, yep yep.
