Well, considering the last thread autosaged because so many people were bitching about it, I'd say no.

They're constantly drawing attention to the fact that they're gay, and want to bone each-other, though it serves no purpose plot wise.
But at the same time their relationship (are they even in one?) can't seem to get past really confusing high school level flirting and "gay drama of the issue", which changes so sporadically it can't be taken seriously or have any deeper point in the end.

That latest issue of Grifter with midnighter was unintentionally hilarious

Just read issue 15. If you wanna know the gist of it = Midnighter is outed as a supposed traitor who's in cahoots with Harry Tanner to sabotage Stormwatch or something. The main thing is, it seemed part of Midnighter's plan was to make Apollo the "gullible sap" fall in love with him so he can use him. Apollo naturally takes this really badly and flies all the way to the sun crying after Midnighter escapes. But it's confirmed in the issue that Midnighter loves Apollo and that Apollo loves him too, at least. It's a question of whether they'll actually get together after this latest mess.

So if anyone read deathstroke before liefeld took over, Midnighter had a small appearance where it showed he knew deathstroke (and then either tried to kill his son and failed or helped his son fake his death, it was unclear). Considering the age difference I like to imagine midnighter got trained by deathstroke in the new52, and was hot for teacher

So. Stormwatch 16 was...a mess. In just three issues, they broke up and then got back together in the most soap opera drama way. I felt like smacking Apollo several times for his idiotic behavior. Milligan's turned them into a farce. The only consolation I can say to those who've yet to read it is that Apollo and Midnighter appear to be back together again since they've been kicked out of Stormwatch by a gone-crazy Angie and her ex-not-ex-anymore Tanner. Blegh.

So, Stormwatch 17. It's confirmed they were never together, although Midnighter thought they "almost were". Also looks like Apollo wants nothing to do with him anyway, so don't count your chickens about the boys being lovers any time soon.
