Last two days of the frankly outstanding 2013 Halloween Event are go!
Hurry up and waste more of your life for aesthetic items you can wear for less than a month out of the year before they're gone!

Sold all my metal and items I didn't care about to the warehouse. Sitting on almost 190,000 credits which is nice since I can actually play dressup now.

Also need to figure out some interesting/ fun loadouts to keep things fresh... or an all Halloween event map server that goes on for year round.

Speaking of which this years even is just as fun as the Horsemann event which is damn impressive since I REALLY like that one. Definitely blows last years snoozefest out of the water.

I cashed in some of my older strange that I don't use and I feel are getting ready to be in crates again. Had enough to Snag a Strange Pom with a Nice name and Description and a Cloaked Spies Killed Part for it. Doing Pretty good being Slinger Pom Engie. Also ended up with two haunted Sniper Masks of the type, anyone got a transmog for any class other than Sniper. Looking to pay a scrap for one.

I hope mods are made to include these spells in RTD or just have spells on every map, because I am a goddamn wizard. No matter the class I easily top the board in helltower, given the same time as other players.

I really REALLY like them myself. I just wish I wasn't shit at the game (also fuck minisentries).
A map with Helltower and the HHH map on rotation year round would be a delight.

As great as all the Halloween stuff is, it's largely beaten out by my burning hatred of Hightower, so I've only played Helltower for about thirty minutes.

Who are these people buying crates for $3 or $4? Not even rare or old ones. Gotta be some sort of money laundering scheme.

I kind of feel that way.
Also holy shit I got a transmog from a trade and used it then no less than 3 minutes later I got another gift and it was the EXACT SAME item I used the transmog on. FUCK.

Someone said it was the same last year, where Halloween items from gifts weren't available for trade; but, after the event was over, they were made tradeable.

So here's hoping. Luckily, I've gotten enough transmorgrafiers to take care of all but one of my duplicate items; not that I necessarily like all the items in question, but at least I have only one dupe.

Hey maybe Valve will take their heads out of their asses and make a couple of the more normal-y ones non-moon locked!

Trying to make sense of Valve's decisions regarding TF2 items is a fruitless effort. I'm not saying they don't put thought into it... just that their lines of thinking seem woefully irrational and inconsistent.
>> No. 182500
>>182496
Well, aside from the potential aesthetic/silhouette issue (which I don't think any of them break), I think they do it so they don't completely fuck up the market. If you're dedicated enough and have a bit luck, you can get up to 29 hats in a single day. Over almost two weeks. If these were normal headwear, there would be huge inflation in market prices as everyone now has a bazillion hats. So they want to release a bunch of fun items, but not fuck up the likely gobs and gobs of money they get off of the Market, so making them Halloween-restricted likely placates both camps.

And Christmas items can have restrictions, too, I think? ...Only the noise maker. Well, okay then. Of course, Christmas items don't have as much of a lure as Halloween items in potential, so perhaps that's what makes the difference.
>> No. 182501
>>182500
>likely placates both camps
I disagree. Since you know. 2 dozen items I can only wear for 12 days out of the year. Totally worth it.

Hitting people with wrapping paper, snowflake mittens, and candy canes while wearing a santa suit is A-ok; but god forbid you wear a werewolf mask and shoes while killing people with an item that vaguely resembles a monster hunting crossbow of coffin themed minigun.

So, more Steam-related than TF2, but apparently if you try to list 200 items on the Steam Market in one year, Steam has to collect information like your SSN. You can opt to not do that, but then you can't list anything and all your current listings are cancelled.

I only know this because I've listed (not sold!) 158 items on the community market (the vast majority of which are crates.) I've likely sold maybe 40-50 things. But when I visited the market, I had a notice waiting that I had listed that many, and if I hit 200 I have to fill out a form for Valve to have on hand for the IRS.

So, FYI before people start posting crates and stuff willy-nilly.

I would highly debate calling it "better". You don't get near as many people going to the hardest missions without knowing anything about the game, but then you have people who abandon the game or try to votekick at the site at anyone with a low number of tours. And while it's much, much easier to finish Expert or the harder Advanced missions in Mann Up, it also gets pretty damn boring what with how often the solution used is "park a dispenser, sentry, and two heavies around the bomb".

By far the most enjoyable way to play MvM is boot camp/private server with people you know.

Lot more than a nerf, it's a complete reworking and I'm getting sick of all the jump alterations they've been giving Scout. It's like they forgot he can do other things. For all of there "We want to make items not used often more usable and balanced" the only option they seem to be content with Scout is how often/ high he can jump. Nice!
Almost want to try my hand at crates, but I don't have good luck with them so I'll have to keep watch on the Warehouse. Almost 200k points to spend and I did the dumb thing and waited too long to get a strange festive sandvich or grenade launcher and now they are crazy expensive.
Hoping to pick up some of this years stranges on the cheap come the 26th

warehouse would be best since most stuff is still about 2 key and will likely maintain that at least till it goes off. Wrangler will likely be one of the more expensive lacking a regular strange variant.

TF2 Tactics: Spy-Sentry Killsyoutube thumb
Nice sapping tutorial, though I believe that the Ambassador tactics are a bit outdated.

Horrible realisation: Two issues of the TF2 comic have been released.

So we're waiting for part three.
